10,000 Israelis die every year from smoking related diseases - Israel National Cancer Association figures - and that number includes 1,500 deaths from "passive smoking"! Now to those critics of the no smoking law, what would you say if 10,000 Israelis were killed on the roads each year or 10,000 Israelis were killed by terrorists each year? The law is No Smoking in restaurants, bars and pubs and any other public place. If you want to smoke, and that is your right, do so at home but make damn sure that your kids and other non-smokers, including your pets, don't breathe in your poison. Their suffering and deaths will be on your conscience!

Inhaling secondary smoke is as harmful as smoking a cigarette yourself. Israelis should stop smoking....Arabs are gloating to see Jews kill themselves.

The supreme court ruled that a restaurant is a "public" place and therefore smoking could be banned - then a few weeks later they rules that a restaurant is a "private" place, therefore restaurants may sell bread during Pesach. Which one is it? In a free market economy a business has the right to choose it's targeted customer - if the target is smokers, so be it. The argument that anyone should be able to go to any restaurant would mean that every restaurant should then also be glatt kosher, vegan, non-smoking noe wheat products for seliac suferers, no nuts or anything else someone could be allergic to, then everyone can go.

Non smokers should have the right to breath clean air. Cigarettes are one of the worst addictions. Nicotine is a drug. Cigarettes are a nicotine delivery device. As addicts, smokers are unaware of how badly their breath and clothing stinks. Smokers pollute the air like swimmers who piss in the swimming pool. It affects the health and safety of everyone around them. Smokers are selfish. They litter the streets and beaches with a filthy mess of ashes and butts. They don't care about the harm they cause other people. As far as smoking is concerned Israel is like the Third World.

Customers have the right to attend a smoking permitted establishment just as much as a non-smoking one. It seems to be pretty a popular place with the smoking. If having a non-smoking establishment is such a great idea, why doesn't one of those anti-smoking pests open one and make all the money?

To throw a piano from a fifth floor is also against de law and dangerous I don't stay under it, why they don't left the restaurant? AAAAAhhhhh... it's about the money...!!!!!!

I find it incredible that anybody can condone smoking - besides the fact that the locals generally don't give a damn about the law. Retired Supreme Court judge Aharon Barak said that if an Israeli can break the law they will do so. To the smokers that don't care about their health if you want to die then die on your own but don't kill me as well.
