A goverment without values may perhaps be seduced into being realistic!
7. and trhis government does?????????
sas ,   israel   (03.25.09)
to get bodies of dead soldiers we release terrorists. for a live one we have to discuss it. maybe the terrorists that we relased did not have gave blood on their hands but they surely had it in their heads. why did we release terrorists for goldwasswer?????????? to have another grave????? another story to tell on memorial day?????? I want shalit alive,. Where are our values?????????? Livni u r a failure. admit it - go home, stay home and comtinue combing your hair.
8. VALUES !!!.
ARN. ,   SWEDEN.   (03.25.09)
"This is a government with no basic values, which are the fundamental thing in politics. Stability is not a value in itself. Unfortunately, what we saw yesterday was another ugly political expression." IS THAT SO ???. WITH NO VALUES NOTHING WILL CHANGE, AND THE NEW GOVERNMENT WILL START AND CONTINUE YOUR POLICY, WHERE YOU SELF TOK OFF. Livni: Barak does not value his own words. WELL BETTER TO CHANGE ONES MIND WHEN WRONG, THAN TO CONTINUE. WITH STILL SOM 10 MILLION JEWS IN THE DIASPORA, WHO ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD IS COMING HOME, WHY A TWO STATE SOLUTION ???. THERE IS NO SUCH SOLUTION IN THE WORD OF GOD. Arn.

das ,   israel   (03.25.09)
you have a lot to learn.
10. Livni and truth
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (03.25.09)
Barak received Labor party approval for joining Netanyahu. Once, Livni was elected by Likud voters to be in the Knesset and government. While in the Knesset, she was offered a ministerial position if she would change her ideology. She tried to convince the Likud to adopt the new ideology and failed. Instead of respecting her voters decision or quitting the Likud, she stole the Likud vote so that she could get the Volvo that comes with being a minister. Livni lied, stole and accepted a Ministerial post as a bribe. She, and not Barak, is responsible for shattering the trust relation with the public.
11. Ex-Likud Livni broke publoc trust trust
Marcel ,   Florida   (03.25.09)
Kadima is the bastard child of Likud. When Livni,Sharon and Olmert betrayed their Likud party to form the party of appeasment and capitulation Kadima this revealed that politicians in Israel are all a bunch of phony opportunists who stand for nothing. We're just seeing more of the same as Netanyahu seeks to please his god in Washington with a not so right wing government.
12. I think Barak should courage and is more realistic
JO   (03.25.09)
Party politics , besides the goal of who gets what, is all about ego and power.Barak has endangered himself in politicsby crossing a line, which we all hope is for the good of the country. Livni would have done the same had she had the power positions she wanted. That this makes Barak unpopular by some is not the point , the point is that he had the courage to do it, to go against the grain. He does not gain so very much by this, it is not power paly and games , I imagine it will be very a very difficult and no easy task to solve all the problems we have. Livni should have joined , had she, their would be a better options, labour, likud and Kadima are not so very different.
13. livni sitting in opposition
dror ,   los angeles usa   (03.25.09)

14. EXILE IS DIVINE DECREE
EXILE   (03.25.09)
The Talmud tells us that God obligated the Jews not to rebel against the ruling bodies and not to take the land of Israel by force. (Babylonian Talmud tractate kesubos) 111A
15. In Livini's zeal and ardour to defame the already defamed..
Alexander ,   Herzliya, Israel   (03.25.09)
..Barak's name, she actually described her self in her criticism of the fat little man. She is insensitive and has no values except those of defeat and self surrender. She is still in this decrepit corrupt government that has still not brought Schalit back home, has still not dealt with Iran, has still not dealt properly with neither Hamas in Gaza nor with Hiezbollah in Lebanon nor with the three kidnapped soldiers that were brought back dead to Israel and Kadima did not take care of the school strikes and demonstations a couple of years ago that paralyzed and delayed the education of that years pupils and students. And Kadima has done almost nothing to stop illegal immigrants from Africa entering Negev through Sinai and Kadima always caved in to the pressure of the Bush Administration. Kadima is nothing but filth and dirt. Skip party politics and bring in truth, justice and the Israeli way.
16. Sensible Approach
winston ,   London   (03.25.09)
It's better for Labor to join and be part of the ruling Government than to be left out. Now at least Labor has a say in diplomatic and national security issues including the peace process. This is not about losing one's values but just smart poltics.
17. # 14 Better read it again, Pal.
petra ,   uSA   (03.25.09)
your lack of Torah is amusing. Ever hear of the battles of Israel? Ever hear of how the leaders took council from the prophets? Amusing if inaccurate. Please read it again. We are a war like people due to those who wish to destroy us. If not you have the Nazi regime, again. In fact, the Pals and Arabs are the current day nazis. No Jew today would willingly stand in line to board the 'cattle cars' of death that we witnessed before. NEVER AGAIN!
18. Reading between the lines
Arie ,   BaGolan   (03.25.09)
Livni is pissed the Israeli electorate rejected her. Now, she does all she can to to demean our choice! Go whine to qurei...maybe he'll listen the next time you two have a "get together"
19. Good for you Livni
Giora Me'ir ,   USA   (03.25.09)
Glad that someone stood up for principle and not just a cabinet seat. Kadima is the big winner out of this as Labor sinks in the sunset.
20. Sour Grape
Pinchas ,   haifa   (03.25.09)
Tzipi Livini is crying sour grapes over Labor's joining the goverment. It was here pride that prevented Kadima from joining the government
21. Livni could not have built the coaltion and is doomed!
redbourn ,   tel aviv   (03.25.09)
It's not hard to see Livni being demoted within the next few months. Due to her ineptitude Kadima is now sitting helplessly in the opposition. Mike
22. #19 - dry humor! I like it :-)
redbourn ,   tel aviv   (03.25.09)
Of course, Livni is on the way out and we know it. She couldn't negotiate her way out of a paper bag, and in now destined for the big trash bin in the sky. Mike
23.  Women
Rabbi Omram ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (03.25.09)
Women belongs in the kitchen and not in the political arena.
24. Kadima has become a left wing party
usa   (03.25.09)
25. Livni
Sol ,   Canada   (03.25.09)
Its interesting to see how out of all the comments on this article only one supports livni, and this is ynet. I think that says allot
26. What a joke
Ari Ben-Canaan   (03.25.09)
It's funny listening to Zippy Livni talk about principles and values, now that we have witnessed what a hypocrite she really is. In the midst of the election, she claimed her supposed-centrist party could work with anyone. We can now see what an egotistical, power-hungry monster she really is. The real centrist is Bibi, who is now proving to be one of the most pragmatic leaders Israel has ever seen. Without selling-out (i.e. muttering the absurd phrase "two-state") Bibi was able to make tough compromises in the name of stability and unity.
27. Kadima has hit its peak.
Ari Ben-Canaan   (03.25.09)
At the very minimum, I predict Kadima will once and for all oust Livni and elect a new leader. The extreme: Kadima will no longer be a political party. Given the divisions in Kadima, I am having a difficult time seeing them survive in the opposition. Shaul Mofaz and the hawkish sect of the party have already expressed their disdain, and I wouldn't be surprised if he and a few others rejoined Likud. Furthermore, with a small Labor Party, the dovish sect of Kadima might try to revive Labor. Bottom line: Kadima has proven to be a corrupt, incompetent, valueless party. Nice try guys, it's time to move on for the good of the country.
