31. On this one I have to agree with my nemesis Talula
Al   (03.26.09)
No leadership worth a damn. The US has its Obama, Israel has a roving band of hasbeens. Geez Its friggin sad, I just hope to G-d you people get it together. If not its bye bye Braverman.
32. Bibi remember what hapened 2 Sharon?
Sam ,   USA   (03.26.09)
33. Rubbish
avrom ,   bet shemesh   (03.26.09)
he formed a govt and so long as he sorts out the threats which i believe he will then the right has nothing to complain about
34. When Bibi Turns Leftward May He Fall On His Face......
Adina Kutnicki ,   Israel,new olah   (03.26.09)
How can it be that as a new olah I was not hoodwinked by Bibi? I knew that he is a rightist in name only. That in fact he is the ultimate opportunist, with no compunction of tricking his voters. I examined his past record and voted on that basis. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! I voted for NU only because I believed that they meant what they said, regardless of where the wind blows.
35. bib destroyed the likud, just like barak
jason white ,   afula,israel   (03.26.09)
destroyed labor and bush destroyed the Republicans.
36. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice...
Shlomo ,   RBS   (03.26.09)
37. Please don't project...
Joshua ,   Jersey City, USA   (03.27.09)
...your own personal biases onto the Israeli electorate. Perhaps some far rightists voted for Bibi. But it seems that most of the people complaining are those who voted for the fringe parties like National Union and are now trying to claim that because they identify as "the right" that they can coast in on Bibi's coattails. Everyone, Bibi most of all, knows that a coalition of Likud, Beitenu, the ultra-orthodox and the tiny, marginal, fringe settler parties is unworkable. So the only "rightist mandate" is in the mind of the far rightists who want to see something in the results that just aint there.
38. Bibi Betrayed his voters
leah amdur ,   Jerusalem Israel   (03.27.09)
What did the voters expect. They got what they deserved. However Bibi had no other option he had to form a cabinet. Sharon betrayed his voters. Olmert betrayed his voters the answer is don't waste time voting for them
39. bibi
sad ,   israel   (03.27.09)
betrayed the entire country and livni is a woman that has NO responibility at all. it only goes to show that she is not material to be prime minister. she really needs to stay home home and bring up her kids.
40. NU history
Friend ,   Norway   (03.27.09)
The extreme right in Israel are useless people. They do not know the difference between bad, worse and worst. They generally prefer the worst for the bad. Because of what they thought was bad, the Madrid conference, they forced Shamir to go to the polls. They succeeded in having a government of the left which gave us the Oslo agreement - far worse from a rightist perspective. I 1999 they forced an election and gave no support to the "bad" Netayahu. They succeeded in getting Barak, who accepted the Clinton formula which was far worse. Until rational people take over the extreme right, no prime minister can make himself dependant on such people.
41. The only trustworthy politician is
Leah ,   Israel   (03.27.09)
Michael Ben Ari. Shabbat Shalom.
42. To Bonnie: Beggers Cannot Be Choosers
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (03.28.09)
To Bunnie Meyer: I live in California, and I want Bibi to succeed. To do so, he will need a strong govt., even though he had to compromise. The religious do not have any of Israel's answers..just fantasy, pure delusion. They, as here, are so darn insulated (won't speak to anyone not Satmar or Hareidi), are destroying Israel and Judiasm. We in Cal. can have partisan politics..with it's many problems..but we do not face 300m hostile neighbors..we have Canada and Mexico. We are not at war with the entire world. We have 20,000 nukes and 5,000 F15s and over 180 F22s. We have over 30 carrier fleets and 3m NGs and regular soldiers and 20 to back them up. What does Israel have? Israel is tiny, miniscule, but has some clout. Bibi isn't Shamir or Begin..but Israel cannot afford those types now. It HAS to compromise..be pragmatic and thus survive. 30b in aid (10 yrs) depends on the US..Israel: don't bite the hand that feeds you. Dont' cut your nose to spite your face. Get it, Bunnie!
43. To Doron: These Pundits Will Destroy Israel
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (03.28.09)
To Doron: You are absolutely right. Being pragmatic ( see Obama), is Israel's only remedy out of this 100yr old conflict. The EU is already warning Bibi, and our Obama and his advisers (many Jewish and pro-Israel) understand how some sort of peace can be achieved. The whole world wants the 2 state solution..mypreference is to bus all the Muslims into Jordan. But I said practical. not delusional. Bibi understands the US better than those right wing religious parties. The religious are destroying Israel AND Diaspora Jewry with this insulated ideas about everything. Try talking to them (in the USA) and they are worse than gentile anti-Semites. 90,000 Haredi professional students of Torah. Why? Put them in into the borders with Hamas and Hez to serve yearly. Take away their charity..and make them work (and I don't mean pray 24-7). If they don't like Israel's policies, let them move back to Brooklyn and Monsey. This is all outrageous. Bibi needs a coalition to govern..not back seat drivers who will make things worse. Israel cannot "occupy" or control the Arab movements forever. Time is against them..get it, against them. Iran's nukes are around the corner, and Israel needs US, and our support, dwingling even now.
44. Unfortunately this proved me Right
Esther ,   Ofarim, Israel   (03.29.09)
Because of the past performance record I couldn't bring myself to vote for Bibi. He was a disaster as PM the first time around. After the "Feiglin Maneuver" I couldn't even give him the benefit of the doubt anymore and had to vote for Israel Beiteinu.
45. Will the REAL Likudniks please stand up?!
Batya Jerenberg ,   Beit Shemesh, Israel   (03.29.09)
The Likud platform still calls for settling all the land of Israel, and rejects a "Palestinian" state. In other words, Likud is a Rightist (and right) party - and should stop being ashamed of it, since the majority of the people are right too! Therefore, all those supposed leaders of the party who do not believe in this platform anymore - should leave us and go to Kadima. Bibi, Silvan Shalom, et al, take note!! And those who DO stick to this platform - "rebels" who are really loyalists, Manhigut Yehudit members - the ones who voted Likud, like me, because they want a strong Right, should finally throw those dangerous liars out, before more Jews get killed and more deterrence goes out the window.
46. Dr. Haim Misgav
daniela doron ,   USA   (03.29.09)
Why did Netanyahu insist on labor partners? If so objectionable, why was it allowed by those who opose? Israels strenght is in unity one voice for the sake of all. Speak-up Israel! Peres the old goat is not much help did he not promiss to stay-out of politics? Ministers can be fired!
