Why would they sign anything when they want it all and so long as they are getting more and more by stupid Israeli Prime Ministers (Rabin, Peres, Barak, Olmert.) Why not wait? You never know, the next Prime minister after Netenyahu might even offer all of West Jerusalem with the Negev, and the "right of return." And the PM after that might offer all Jewish kids under 5 years old as a gesture to peace too. And the PM after that will offer complete capitulation. Why not offer more?

If there is any wonder why we voted kadima/labour out of office? The more they confess to what transpired during their reign, the more we understand how close we came to disaster. They offered parts of our capital - an offer that is now dead given fatah's obvious insistence that we offer everything from 'the river to the sea!'. They offered the Golan totally compromising the North. They gave hamass free reign of terror in the south. These negotiations are a farce. All I see is Israel making more and more concessions and the palestinians making none. Now that Israel has published what its final offer is, it should stick to it. Israel should say to the world, here is what we have offered and there will be no more talks until we receive a Palestinian response which details the concessions THEY are willing to make to achieve peace. In principle such a plan offered by Ehud Olmert should,at least 80%,be acceptable to the Palestinians. Unlike conditions of May 1948 when Jews declared the establishment of the State of Israel, today's condition still shows Israel enjoys the upper hand, especially militarily.I very seriously doubt Palestinians or Arabs could wrestle any territory from Israel by force or in any war. If Palestinians are now already quite educated and sophisticated then they should remember how they lost in 1947 a golden opportunity given to them by the partition plan of the UNO. Let them be wise,realistic,and nationalistic enough to accept and grab such a singular plan.In principle it would be much better for the Palestinians than having nothing at all... The only point I have to make clear is that I do not know the specific details of such a peace plan including its political,legal,and administrative sides ! The Palestinians don't just want a state as they would like the naive audience in the West to believe. They could have had that. They want concessions out of Israel without any deal. The deal that they are demanding is all of East Jerusalem, all of the West Bank and an unlimited right of return of Palestinians into Israel because that is the same thing as NO ISRAEL.. Nothing has changed in this regard. No Palestinian leader appears ready to settle for less for fear of being shot.

None of them will ever reach an agreement that will truly end this conflict that has caused so much bloodshed on both sides until Israel accepts the Palestinian/Arab counter-offer, and vanishes into thin air.

Try reading before your usual knee-jerk reaction to any Israeli offer, no matter how misguided olmert is. It is called negotiations (would you like a definition?). Simply stated, and I will write slowly so even you can understand, an offer was made to abbas (the master of the Munich massacre in case you forgot). abbas has never responded to the offer. There is no rejection. Now that kadima/labour is dead, so is the offer. What you CAN rest assured of is that when Netanyahu pulls a lot of the appeasement and surrender off the table, abbas will quickly respond that olmert offered it so that will be the starting point for future discussions (he does that always). As for you, until the leftie mentality in TA changes, we could only hope that a future government cuts TA out and offers TA up in exchange for peace. The proverbial win-win!

The Quran also prophesizes the State of Israel in 1948 in surah 17 verse 104 when Allah would gather the "Children of Israel" out of various nations and return them to their land from exile.
