When Dr. Yuval Steinitz was Chairman of the Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Knesset he closed his eyes to what was going on on our northern border. He allowed Hezbollah to arm itself and the results of his negligence were the deaths of Eldad Regev and Udi Goldwasser and the ensuing 2nd Lebanon War which would not have happened if he and the Committee had done their job. His excuse would probably be that the events of July 2006 did not happen on his watch but they we made possible by his failure. Maybe he will keep a better eye on Shas' and United Torah Judaism's lust for money than he did on the North of Israel which most Likudniks don't seem to realize exists!
