1. Viva Lieber-mania
It's funny to ear him and he telling true thing, what the problem?

2. ... and all of this good came out of Oslo? Amazing (end)
|
|
3. oslo
BULLSHIT Is the best to explain the lies of this writer.HOW MANY ISRAELIS ARE DEAD BECAUSE OF OSLO???? The biggest failure in the history of Israel It turned our politicians into snivelling cowards It gave the arabs permission to demand what was not thires(return of foreign immigrants. It devided the nation Oslo started the left and the right streams in politics. Oslo told the youth to build Israel was illegal. Oslo was for the twisted minds of lyiny politicians. OSLO WAS BAD FOR IWSREAL
|
|
4. Nothing has been accomplished
What are all these things worth when no Israeli can walk the street in safety, there is no place in Israel free from the threat of terrorism? When your children are killed by muslims, when your towns are full of crazy people, worn out by the constant bombing? Where your citizens need to wear guns and be ready to use them at all times? What good is anything when these things are happening? How can any country enjoy prosperity when they are in danger 27/7? Lieberman was correct. ‘Nothing was achieved by our concessions.’ Nothing, that is, if you value your citizen’s peace of mind.

6. here's some more
1) Soviet Union collapsed and gangsters too over Russia
2) World came out of a global recession around the same time
3) nearly 2,000 Israelis died since "peace" with Palestinians
4) Israel's image in the world has consistently declined. You simply cannot compare how Israel was viewed post 1967 and post Oslo.
5) Israel hasn't really been at war with Jordan since at least 1970.
So most of your list is meaningless and has zero to do with Oslo and the rest is crap - who cares if an Israeli PM went to Indonesia? Do they officially recognise Israel?
|
|
7. Peace has been in our interests for a long time
Our politicians have just been too thick to realise it.
|
|
8. Oslo
Mr. Haber: Let me tell you of a quote by Mr. Blake. " The road to Hell is paved with good intentions".
Old commies like you hate to admit defeat but know this: G-d will not easily forget those who betrayed Israel. Because of Oslo and the Resurrection of a forgotten and banished PLO leadership the palestinians are now the World's cause celebre. Many of Israeli youth no longer want to fight, Rockets hit Israel and the Barbarians are on your doorstop and there is a good chance that Iran will Nuke Israel soon so you keep whistling while people like you are holding Israel 's hand and walking her Life right back to the Gas Chambers.

9. Haber willing to exchange wealth for innocent Jewish blood.
Thousands of innocent Jews were murdered and maimed for life because of the Oslo accords. And yet, according to Haber, incoming wealth went up from $120 million per year to about $5 billion.
This clearly shows where Mr. Haber's priorities lie. In Haber's base world view, Jewish blood is cheap indeed! Reading this immoral piece of rubbish puts Mr. Haber in a position beneath contempt amongst the Jews in my humble opinion.
Koheleth wrote of men like Haber: "Better is a poor yet wise lad is better than an old and foolish king who no longer knows how to receive instruction."
|
|
10. Haber needs to learn the concept of cause and effect
Since the Oslo Accords Israel has been plunged into recession, thousands of people emigrated from the country, a government has been forced to resign amid a sea of corrupttion, and that is just the beginning. If Eitan Haber is going to list all the positive things that happened in Israel since the Oslo occords that have no relation to the Occords to support them, then I can list all the negative events in the country unrelated to the Occords to oppose them, and my list will be just as long as his. And if I start listing related events such as two wars, over 1,000 dead civilians, some two hundred dead soldiers, an assasinated minister, thousands of rocket attacks, hundreds of bombings, two thirds of the country coming within rocket range, six kidnapped soldiers, etc., etc., etc., then my list will be twice as long as his. Before Lecturing other people on their knowledge of facts Mr. Eitan Haber needs to learn that facts do not appear out of thin air, but actually have causes.
For example, 33 states recognized Israel because that's about how many states were created or freed as a result of disintigration of the USSR and Yougoslavia and allowed to establish relations with Western nations like us.
Our economic growth shot up along with everyone else during the dot-com boom. The colapse of the Soviet Union is what gave its milion-plus Jews the option of coming to Israel
How is the education budget related to Oslo?!
The company and unemployment thing is again, related to the dot-com boom and not Oslo in any way.
Jordan had been interested in making peace with us since 1949, but didn't feel safe doing so until after the PLO threat was crushed in the West Bank during the first Intifada. Note that since Oslo and our weakening position in the region Jordan has become much more pro-Hamas and anti-Israel.

11. Oslo inheritance
Mr. Haber clearly has no idea what Oslo agreement brought Israel.
1. Over 1000 jews were killed and thousands were wounded.
2. Israel's deterrence went down dramatically
3. 33 country recognized Israel because of Oslo? Haber must be out of his mind.
4. Economic growth reached 6% because of Oslo? Haber must be insane.
5. 600k new immigrants came to Israel because of Oslo? Haber is an idiot.
I don't want to continue with this moronic discussion.

12. Author Needs a lesson in Causation
Correlation does not mean causation. the doubling of the education budget has absolutely nothing to do with the oslo accords. neither does unemployment, relocation of companies, a new highway, or any of the other economic development advances. as for the economic growth? for that we have to thank the leaders of israel who realized it is time to move away from socialism and towards capitalism. bibi gets special thanks in this regard. as for the new immigrants? this author is either lying or totally uneducated. he is of course referring to the russian immigration wave, which only became possible when the USSR opened its doors to let out the jews in 1990. the fact that this date is close in time to the 1993 oslo accords leads this author to conclude the immigrants came cuz of oslo? this is a feat of logical fallacy worthy of a prize. why didn't russians come before 1990? THEY COULDN'T.
now for the real results of oslo: 1. it bestowed legitimacy on a terrorist organization(first PLO, and soon Hamas) 2. it created the impression israelis could be defeated by terrorism 3. it destroyed any type of normal education among palestinians replacing it with PLO textbooks that would destroy the coming generations with their hate filled propaganda making peace impossible
the author needs a lesson and for that i direct him to read roman history: Si vis pacem, para bellum. If you want peace, prepare for war.

13. Funny man Mr Haber is.
What BS, Israel as a capitalistic state is better of than pre Oslo but that has no direct connection to Oslo, Oslo has done nothing for Isrel despite new diplomatic missions opening, the number 1 disliked country in the world, one of the most politically corrupt, one of the biggest intelectual property thieves and a catalyst for hate and terror.
Israel is not responable for the fall of communism, neither for the economic upturn, an oportunistic state that got on boaed with the turn around in the global economy, not as a result of Oslo, so Mr Haber keep your BS to yourself.

14. Puh-lease!
Almost all of those "accomplishments" have nothing to do with the disasterous oslo accords (all of the meaningful ones anyway), many of them began years before oslo (like the mass immigration from russia and the economic recovery from the turbulant 80s). Eitan Haber YOU need to be educated.

21. WE GET NO RESPECT #16
You seem to be able to spell big words like "unemployment", but your pen fails you when you can't spell "Christian". Or perhaps you can't bring yourself to type "Christ" and use the "X" instead, which really is a symbol of his cross? Or perhaps this is a cheap slur, as typing His name is beneath you? X-Men is a movie, try typing "Christian "in the future when you whine. Also, I suggest you fix Brooklyn before you fix Israel. Pax

Excellent talkbacks, just one more more thing.
The mutlinationals came to Israel not because of Oslo but because of the Madrid conference.
Shamir refused to come to Madrid unless the Arab states stopped the secondary embargo. The Arabs saw how Shamir defeated the First Intifada and how the PLO was meaningless and agreed.

24. haber needs a longer view of recent history
some of the things he mentioned have absolutely nothing to do with Oslo. of the ones that do, they followed "the day after" oslo, when hope was high. continuing your look at history up until today, liberman is exactly right. after 16 yrs of both offering and giving unprecendented concessions, our legitimate right to exist today is questioned by the world more than ever!

Your comments make no sense : How do you know that all these "good news " are because of oslo .
If we follow your reasoning the world should have another WW2 and another holocauste and that way we can have great growth and progress as has happened after that war.

26. What did Assad do after Lieberman's comments?
He told the truth!
He said that not only does Syria support Hizbullah, but that it will continue to do so.
Assad always denied this before.
In his first day on the job Lieberman caused him to utter the truth.
The cost of political correctness has brought about the Islamization of most of Europe.

Haber and his leftist friends refuse to admit the disastorous repercussions that have resulted from Oslo.....all the Israeli deaths and terrorism it has caused! They take no responsibility for their selfish actions!

28. A problem of repentance Mr. Haber.
If I understand well, after all the "marvellous" things "Oslo" brought us, we must now cede the Golan Heights because poor Assad is waiting for it. Indeed yesterday you wrote another article in this same paper under the tittle "Assad is waiting", and I introduced a talkback under # 13. I asked for your reply, but hadn't the guts to do that.
