31. Haber, you are the one who says "foolish things"
B"H
Haber, you should evidently not "rely on [your] memory at this late hour of night". Your list of achievements materialized DISPITE the oslo accords, not because of them. You also seem to forget (at this late hour of the night) that more than a thousand Jews were killed by our oslo peace partners and tens of thousands maimed for life. For this reason your article is not only intellectually dishonest but it is immoral. As far as the non material developments in this country are concerned, you conveniently forget that since the oslo accords and due to the oslo accords a huge and corrupt political society emerged in Israel that eroded the country's moral fabric and intellectual resources, apart from the religious sector, that thrives, thank G-d.

32. The glass if half full, but black.
The only people suffering from Lieberman's remarks are the ones that can't face the disastrous results of obsessive peace maneuvers and their correlation to the increase in global anti-Semitic shamelessness. Israel is only respected when it acts in it's own historical Jewish self-interest without the pretty statements made by ignorant politicians trying to win respect in the international arena that favors wealth, Arabs and moral perversity.

33. Mr. Haber, Liberman got 15 mandates!
It means that people know what he is talking about and like it!

|
34. Thank God for Lieberman
Lieberman will be great for Israel. It is about time one of leaders started telling the truth. The author of this article is indeed a liar. The various developments that he mentions had nothing whatsoever to do with Oslo. The only thing that came out of Oslo was increased terrorism against Israel.

35. Because of this late hour you forgot
That Every one knew what Lieberman stands for before he was elected and he achieved a respecteble vote of confidence from the electorate. Actually got more votes than the party that orchestrated Oslo. In other words he was elected and is F.M. and you coudn't be elected as fly catcher. Also in this late hour let me remind you That the najority of this country is sick and tired of the Left and Oslo roadmap and the policy of giving up land and therfore the majority voted right. Haber have some good coffee and a good day.

36. I would not dare to speculate
what would've happened if there were no Oslo but I also recall end of Cold War approximately at the same time, end of Soviet support for its satellites and because it is night time somewhere on Earth I am too lazy to think of something else that might have some effect on history of the World.
|
|
37. Or, one more thing.
If I recall correctly there was Intifada before Oslo and there was another Intifada after Oslo. The second one was even worst.
Well, I stand corrected. Oslo brought change indeed.

38. haber
The stated intent of Oslo to bring peace between Israel and the arabs
living in Judea and Samaria could
be accepted by all people of good will. However the formulation and
implementation of Oslo was a total
failure. Initially Rabin favored a federation between the arabs of Judea and Samaria and Jordan, later the policy
became totally confused. Let's see
Oslo for a what it really is, a failed
"Ponzi" scheme.

41. coincidence & short-term accomplishments
Some of the items Haber lists are legitimate, such as new relations with Muslim countries. How many other items are pure coincidence, having nothing to do with Oslo? Many, I bet.
Even the positive developments- if Israel benefited for a few years, only to see eventual erosion, then where is the plus for Israel? Building in E1 would be a lasting benefit for decades to come. Getting a smile from Mubarak is fleeting.

44. Mr. Haber
Mr.Haber judging by T.B. it is way past your bedtime and retirement.

45. Oslo is a failure and Haber proves it
Haber is involuntarily proving that Oslo is a major failure.
In his pathethic attempt to prove that Oslo is a success, Haber is mentionning facts which, for most of them, are not even related to Oslo and would have happen with or without Oslo.
But Oslo was supposed to be a peace process and Haber is totally unable to find any fact proving that Oslo has bring any peace. He is unable to do it because Oslo has created more war.
Israeli Leftists are trying to put the blame on Lieberman for their own failures.

47. MFA vs Haber: 32 from Madrid to Oslo; only 37 since!
Check out this page from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website:
http://www.mfa.gov.il/mfa/about%20the%20ministry/diplomatic%20missions/Israel-s%20Diplomatic%20Missions%20Abroad
Haber's the one who's ignorant of the facts. In less than 2 years, the Right under Shamir garnered 32 recognitions, while in the 15.5 years since Oslo, only 37 more countries joined on, and 2 have suspended relations.
The bottom line of the above numbers is that after Olso, the pace of recognition *slowed drastically*. I've also seen claims that Oslo garnered economic trade with China and India, but both were established also under Shamir.
Oslo was a complete loss for Israel. Nothing good came out of it, and it's time leftists like Haber own up to their errors instead of trying to put a spin on the mess they've created.

49. What Haber ment: Oslo was good for Arafat and Hamas
Since Arafat was god of the Left and the left still dreaming of his Borghutti and Hamas, Haber's point of view is clear: More Hamas, more terror, but busses must run on time in North Tel Aviv.

51. Right - But not quite
Respect is a word that attaches only to a few. Mr Haber has earned it with just his persistence. But he isn't quite right about Yvet the former bouncer has to learn. Indeed you cannot teach a criminal to become a righteous person. He is what he is. And then you have to expect that with his kind of mind the notion of peace is anathema if it means negotiating. His type understands only brute force - its natural for a bouncer to be that way. The problem is that he is a terrible embarrassment to us all and without even having stepped into a foreign context he is already doing us grave harm. Pandering to the thugs, the fascists in our midst may have got him elected allowing to make serious decisions for our relations with the world is beyond him even with the best lessons.

54. Oslo
Oslo is the best thing that happened to Israel, the murder of Rabin is the best thing that happened to Arafat-Hamas.2 forces conspired against oslo, the settlers and Hamas, both groups claimed all the land,no compromise, nothing to the other side. The rabbis of the settlers threatened Rabin with a death sentence,a Fatwa,(rodef nirdaf )(pursuer pursued) that was enough for the Amalekite crip who executed Rabin for personal reasons under the cover of the Fatwa.on the other side Hamas was blowing up busses, diskos, piza shops, killing hundreds of people ,men women and children. The people of Israel blamed (wrongly) Oslo for the bloot shed and refused to continue the process, while arafat kept talking of the peace of the brave while doing very little to stop Hamas,so the world looked at Arafat (wrongly) as a moderate who is interested in peace with Israel.By executing Rabin The settlers shot themselves in the foot,Rabin was the settlers biggest supporter.Hamas came out quite good because of Rabin's death, they are in full control of Gaza, somthing Rabin would have never allowed. One wonders, considering the service the Amalekite crip rendered to Hamas by killing Rabin,Why didn't Hamas place hin on the list of terrorists to be released ?.Oslo continues under other names. There must be an agreement for the benefit of both people.Once The Golan is returned to syria,Hamas will lose it's mentor, and a deal can be worked out.
