5. Israeli Arab
ben Ish   (04.08.09)
But because they are "Israeli" Arabs, all Jews should trust them with their lives, right? As if they couldn't possibly be an Israeli citizen and still hate Israel, pray for its destruction, openly protest everything we do, and clamor for "justice" for refugees. Oh no, it would be racist to suggest that of any Israeli ''citizen", right?
6. If the Muslim community really wants to help Gazans...
Aaron ,   SF, USA   (04.08.09)
They need to band together to absorb the refugees within their own countries as full citizens that way the "occupied" Palestinians can comfortably follow suit.
7. Stop the outrageous behavior of the “Israeli” Arabs.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (04.08.09)
While the police could end the atmosphere of lawlessness by enforcing the laws already on the books, the government can take positive steps to reverse the trends toward radicalization of Israeli Arab society. It can pass regulations barring anti-Zionist propaganda in public school curricula and sanctioning the immediate firing of public school teachers who teach students to hate Israel. It can suspend government funding of municipalities and local councils that do not enforce building codes. It can set up well-paid community police comprised of loyal citizens. The government can prosecute Arab politicians and leaders who treat with the enemy for treason. More about the Israeli Arabs at : http://xrl.us/bi3hx
8. Israeli citizens and propaganda against the state:
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (04.08.09)
To continue with Robert Bernier's always welcome comments (#7), we really have to concern ourselves with the continual Israel bashing by media outlets such as Haaretz, which is currently being sued by a group of reserve soldiers who are furious that Haaretz accused the IDF of war crimes in Gaza but, as we've since discovered, on flimsy to no evidence at all. Nonetheless, Haaretz, affiliated with the New York Herald Tribune, has caused us immense damage in the international community. In addition, looking towards higher education in Israel, we find it next to impossible to obtain a social sciences position on campus if one is not left of centre. Being an anti-Zionist appears to be a positive characteristic for a job seeker. University professors, once they have received tenure, are practically untouchable. In Israel, higher education in the social sciences is politically biased and anything but balanced. This situation generates streams of young Israel bashers whose own commitment to the state becomes all the more tenuous. We are only saved by the enormous emigration from Russia as well as Ethiopia, communities of people inordinately committed to the state.
