2. Pay attention, Mitchell is Roman Catholic, Vatican agent.
Ken Quinn ,   Amsterdam   (04.14.09)
The old Roman Empire is on the march and guess what, it is up to its old tricks. Where are the Maccabees?
3. Same past 16 years BS. Where is CHANGE, Obama?

4. Mitchel should investigate his Mom's birthplace -Lebanon
Alan SA ,   SA   (04.14.09)
and how the Iranians have taken over that country by proxy Hezballah
5. This shows Mitchell's weakness as an envoy
Aaron ,   SF, USA   (04.14.09)
To put that much pressure onto Netanyahu for a two-state solution before hearing any other perspective, strategy, ideas, etc. while at the same time not saying the same thing towards Abbas.
6. Stay in the US: NO 2 states! Jordan is pali state

8. GASP! HOW COULD WE NOT SUPPORT TWO STATES???
stude ham   (04.14.09)
LESSE... 50 states in the US... lots of states in the EU... Unbelievable number of states in the arab league... how then could we possibly quibble over two states??? when the world has hundreds and hundreds of states? let's tell mitchell to go to darfur.
9. Interesting scheduling: meeting Barak first?!?
Shaul   (04.14.09)
Defense minister is hardly the one to express the foreign policy, esp. Barak, the Labor leader. Does Mitchell reason that getting Barak on record first would make it more likely that the stated Israeli foreign policy would be more reflective of Obama's wishful thinking?
10. Netanyahu offering less than Olmert even if accepts 2 states
Sam ,   Canada   (04.14.09)
Why do these diplomats waste so much time? Even if Netanyahu were to accept 2 states, he's offering less than Olmert. Olmert couldn't reach agreement on any of the core issues. So, this is a dead end for now. If Mitchell can't lower Palestinian expectations then this is a dead end for many, many years. Mitchell should work on improving the overall atmosphere.
11. Israel is a soverign state, stand up to Obumma.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (04.14.09)
12. Don't worry, you'll still get our money

We'll continue to provide diplomatic cover for you, even as you continue to build the settlements you promised us you'd stop building. In the end we'll always put our money and our reputation on the line for you. Appearances may be to the contrary, but the reality is the same. It would nice if you could return the favor by keeping a civil tongue while stop whining.

14. More bias
Frank ,   Canada   (04.14.09)
This is not a 2 state creation process, this a peace process. The problem to solve is not the number of states but to bring peace. These crappy diplomats are working on everything but the root cause of this war: Arab rejectionnism. Creating a terror state is the opposite of peace.
15. What if Bibi were to say
Marcella   (04.14.09)
Yup, we're against dividing our land. So what? Now, how about you, Mr Mitchell, what do you say about returning all that land to the Mexicans, and all that other land to the Indians? What have you got to say about that? We're truly concerned, Mr Mitchell. Indians are not faring very well, not with their substandard housing and education. They need a state of their own, where they can manage their own affairs and prosper. You don't have to give everything away. We'll let you keep New York and Massachussets. That should be enough. And let's not forget about the Mexicans. That land was taken by war, Mr Mitchell. Violently! Illegally! And regarding Mexican violence, criminality, drug wars, all that Mr Mitchell, is due to the frustration at seeing their land being occupied by Anglos. It hurts, Mr Mitchell. C'mon. We Israelis will help you with a roadmap that will surely bring peace and prosperity to all the parties involved. Follow me, here I will explain to you all the steps as outlined on the roadmap for a two state solution on the former USA, with Indians and Anglos living side by side, as well as a map of greater Mexico when their lands have been properly returned.
16. KEEP PRAYING !!
B.E.MOSS ,   ELKO,NV.   (04.14.09)
WE WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR ISRAEL AND THEIR LEADERS.
17. Mitchell not a good choice
T. Traub ,   Phoenix, Arizona USA   (04.14.09)
Mitchell is not a neutral party; he is pro-Arab (has Arab family) and has demonstrated an anti-Israel slant in the past. He is a singularly poor choice as Obama's first envoy to Israel. Probably, Israel is in for a bad 4 years while Obama is in office. At least Bush started from the pointof view that Israel is an ally. It's not clear that Obama also feels this way. In his rush to distance himself from everything "Bush" he is throwing out the good with the bad.
18. You don't have to fly to Israel, Sec. Mitchell...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (04.14.09)
...just look up Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu on Wikipedia, you'll find their positions on a 2-state solution spelled out in black and white. It's that freaking simple!
19. ...more on BB
Ahmad Abouali   (04.14.09)
..he is also for the return of the Palestinian refugees, granting the Palestinians inside the Zioinst entity the freedom to join the new palestinian state, including the lands, and disarm "israel" of its 200 A nukes Did I miss anything? BiBi is Mama Theresa II
20. 2-state solution: the sacred cow of the West
LOL ,   usa   (04.14.09)
This sacred cow is nothing but bull. It's created more problems than it has solved. When will the West learn that Jews and Muslims alike are taught not to worship cows?
21. Israel ,powerful to Impotent in 1 generation
Marcel ,   Florida   (04.14.09)
Can Benji stand up to the bully who tramples Israel's sovereignty for their counterfeit peace ? In July of 1976 Israel rescued 102 hostages from terrorist hijackers held captive at the airport in Entebbe,Uganda. Today Israel is incapable of extracting even 1 captive Jonathan Pollard, from a supposed friend and ally. The peace process has weakened Israel greatly to the point where her leaders openly cry about their impotence and weakness. Because of the false peace process led by a false friend Israel has become incapable of defeating Hizbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. The false friends ties her hands under theg guise of not harming the 'process' and the faithless fool grasshoppers of Israel love to religiously obey their god in Washington. They are fearful of losing the yoke of servitude around their neck as the no longer free nation allows it's sovereignty to be trampled constantly. Israel has grown accustomed to being told by their god where they can or cannot live on their land . They admit their weakness openly and revel in their inability to anything without the permission of their new god. Incompetence in Israel is rewarded with higher office while those who stand up against the failed U.S agenda are under constant attack. The weak, defeatist, faithless leaders of Israel openly say that their survival depends on the U.S ,the same U.S.which has restrained, hindered and weakened Israel ,emboldened, supported and trained it's enemies and pushed Israel into appeasment and surrender for the lie of peace. This is the suicidal insanity which idolatry brings upon the nation which forgets their God, Holy One of Israel. Evenatually God will remove this evil idol from the midst of Israel and Israel will have no where esle to turn but Him. Here is Israel's evil President in his own words, a leader powerless against the iron wall of a 'friend' and close ally who will not show kindness or mercy to a Jew whose only crime was helping Israel. This is the worthless god Israel chooses to serve and obey and pay higher homage to than they do the Holy One of Israel. Is is no wonder why Israel is in the deep hole that it is in. While refusing to go into detail about the military option to foil Iran's nuclear program, Peres did say that Israel couldn't carry out any strike against the Islamic republic without America. "We certainly cannot go it alone, without the US, and we definitely can't go against the US. This would be unnecessary," stressed the president. Peres also referred to the case of Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard, imprisoned in the US, saying that even if Israel had done more, it wouldn't have secured his release as "until now, all our appeals to America have been answered with an iron wall."
22. One state solution is best
Jack ,   Richmond   (04.14.09)
Palestinians and Jews living in one state is by far and away the nest choice. It is also most inevitable. One state, one nation , and eventually one people. Israelites included the ancestors of both parties, and the Lord promissed both the same land. I think Bibi isright.
23. Perfect 2 State Solution
Meir ,   Beit Shemesh   (04.14.09)
Israel for the Jews and the USA for the Arabs, they already have a Muslim President, plus the USA wants the Arabs so much, they have been sending them lots of money, letting in illegal immigrants. Bundle up all the so-called Palestinians on US Airforce Jets and give them all the wide open spaces in the west
24. jordan is arab palestine
tom ,   toronto, canada   (04.14.09)
jordan is arab palestine, and has been since it was created, as the arabs-only part of palestine in 1923. it has 78% of the land of the former british mandate of palestine. the only reason jordan wasn't named "palestine" is because the arabs refused to even refer to themselves as "palestinians" prior to 1964, because the term referred to jews for 2,000 years! the arab league has pushed the u.s. and e.u. into a bogus proposition that somehow giving the arab palestinians more states, at the expense of the 22% that is now israel and the territories, will lead to peace in the middle east. instead of putting the territories under the control of stable regimes with existing peace treaties with israel, namely egypt and jordan, the u.s. is pushing to create independent states, under the control of terrorist groups, who have never even honoured a ceasefire (unless you consider an average of 3-4 terrorist attacks a day as a "ceasefire"). the best that the terrorist groups have done is negotiate in bad faith - the "palestinian authority" (it is neither) negotiating lies with israel, while its members, such as fatah, vow to never change their charter, or to stop their attacks. (in fact, fatah has claimed responsibility for most of the attacks FROM GAZA over the last 3 years!) the very idea that creating new states (fatahland and hamasland) for these unrepentant terrorists will bring about anything other than an increase in attacks on israel, is absurd. president obama would have a better chance giving florida to the cubans as a way of "solving" the 50-year-old conflict with cuba!
25. #19 don't believe your own propaganda!
tom ,   toronto, canada   (04.14.09)
1) "return of the refugees" - on what basis? what refugees have "returned" over the past century? there is no such thing as the "right of return", except that created by the state of israel, under israeli law, for the return of the jews to the jewish homeland of king david! there is no such concept under international law, and no group of refugees has ever enjoyed such a right. in fact, the international community has encouraged the integration of displaced groupos, with the notable exception of the arab refugees from palestine, where the arab league was aided and abetted by the united nations in PREVENTING the resettlement of the refugees. i suggest that this prevention is a crime against their human rights. 2) israel's nukes - if they even exist, they are perfectly legal and threaten no peaceful nation. unlike israel's neighbours (such as egypt, iraq, libya, syria, pakistan, and iran), israel has not signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and has not sought assistance in creating a nuclear programme. as such, israel is NOT subject to iaea inspections, and has not broken any treaties, unlike the moslem countries around her, which have ALL signed the pact, and tried to develop nuclear weapons secretly and in violation. 3) arab palestinians who chose to live in israel, instead of siding with the attacking arab armies in 1948, already enjoy freedom and citizenship. they have full rights to vote, and express themselves, and carry israeli passports - rights which arabs in arab countries do not enjoy - let alone minority groups! why should israel extend the rights of citizenship to foreigners who chose to move to other countries? why do your dreams only consist of destroying what someone else has built, instead of what you could build for yourself?
26. Time to asert the truth
Yehudi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.14.09)
The issue is not whether two states actually provide a solution or not to the conflict. The real issue is that we Jews have no right to give away any part of the Land of Israel. The Land is part of an eternal covenant between God and the Jewish people. God gave the Land to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and their descendants - the Jews. We should stop bowing to this evil two state solution as though it was some type of deity. We should remember that we Jews are the children of the Covenant and the Land is part of that Covenant. The Arabs have a right to live with dignity. But they have no right to try and steal our Land from us. “The Land of Israel for the People of Israel”
27. Save taxpayers $$, Israel wants occupation not peace
