31. Pressuring Israel Won’t Make the Arabs Pro-America:
Middle East expert Prof. Fouad Ajami of the Johns Hopkins University School of International Affairs, writing in the May 26, 2003 issue of U.S. News & World Report, pointed out the United States is greatly mistaken if it believes the Arab world will be more pro-America if the U.S. pressures Israel to make more concessions for Palestinian Arabs.

Ben Ari is smoking very good weed. I don't see any peace camp among Arabs. Even the so-called moderates are constantly murdering each other.

40. who needs the u.s.?
interesting how the u.s. stood by and watched 6 million jews die including my grandparents and other family in poland, (they entered the war too late, roosevelt was the worst president becuase of this) interesting how the u.s. showed no support for the new state of israel in 1948. the u.s. will have more to lose from severred ties with israel than israel and most american jews are the same useless american jews that existed during the holocaust. not all, but i believe most, calling themselves jewish because its cool but not really serving the interests of the jewish community. it already looks like israel and russia are becoming closer together, with obama ready to shake the hands of terrorists, the u.s. will not only lose its position as a supper power but may soon have sharia law all thanks to hussein obama. we have learned many lessons in the last couple thousand years of massacres and oppression, thank god for israel and the idf, and for leibermann standing up to the pressure imposed by the idiots of the west. the rest of the world would happily watch as the jews of israel face a second holocaust. and for those people who criticize israel and jews for bringing up ancient history and using the holocaust as an excuse, it is not ancient history to a people who have existed for thousands of years. my father was a holocaust survivor and of course my views and beliefs are influenced by the tragedy, as it should every single jew in the world. and this article mentioning returning the golan heights, this is insane. give up land, and they will want even more land. two state solution only if the palestinians realize it is better to spend their money on food and advancing their economy than buying weapons and bombs to strap to their children. all enemies of the jewish people have been defeated, and so to will the ones that exist today. u.s. foreign policy has already proven to be full of costly mistakes, maybe obama should leave the current situation in the middle east to the parties involved so he can focus on repairing the u.s. economy, and solving u.s. problems such as many people without healthcare, and increasing crime. the obama administration is not fooling me, trying to put the focus on the middle east while the u.s. slowly slips into decay. peace can only exist when terrorist groups funded by iran and syria are not in power. and i am sure many of the palestinian people themselves are sick of the violence, they must stand up against hamas and even fatah who is only seen as a viable peace partner because they are the lesser of the two evils. israel would never have existed if it listened to the west. maybe the u.s. should make peace with al qeada, yeah right, or the samali pirates, with obama, u never now.

41. Consequences of the Oslo Agreements.
Since the Oslo War broke out over eight years ago, more than 1,500 Israelis have been killed in terrorist attacks. Not only did the Fatah security forces fail to prevent terrorist attacks, in many cases they colluded with terrorist groups and sometimes perpetrated attacks themselves. In addition, Gaza terrorists have bombarded the western Negev with thousands of rockets and mortar shells both before and after the government forced Jews out of the Gaza reign and withdrew all military presence from the area. Is a “Palestinian” state justified ? The opinion of an expert at : http://xrl.us/orhvc

43. #5 - I Have A Question For You
Ahmad, I have a simple question for you. By "Zionists" and "European colonialists" are you referring to the hundreds of thousands of Jews that ESCAPED Europe because of the raging anti-Semitism that would eventually lead to one out of every three Jews in the world being murdered, or are you referring to the hundreds of thousands of Holocaust survivors who had no family, home, or community that would accept them after the Holocaust except in Israel, or are you referring to the hundreds of thousands of Jews expelled from Arab and Islamic countries that had nowhere to go except Israel, or maybe the tens of thousands of Ethiopian Jews rescued by Israel? Can you please clarify which ones are the "European colonialists".

44. pub - USA: is it your inability to comprehend
a complex thought as expressed in something other than dispassionate soundbites? Or are you just a garden-variety Jew-hater? Are you the type of a patriot who toes the party line, no matter what? Were you equally patriotic during the Bush administration? What was it that made you dismiss mattan's post (coherent and articulate, albeit sorely lacking in punctuation) in such an illiterate redux of a feedback? Finally, is an "anti-American hater" someone who hates anti-Americans? Don't bother trying to answer, you brain might overheat and explode. Just keep on with USA Today and Headline News soundbites. Don't strain yourself too much, save the energy for shopping and watching baseball games...ahem...dude...

48. To #1, it is Zionist state, not Jewish state
Arabs will never accept a state built by colonists from all over Europe. Arabs would not oppose a Jewish state if it was claimed by native Jews to the Middle East. More than 70% of all Israeli prime ministers were born in Europe, many in Russia. Russia is not in the Middle East. If Arabs were to accept this repressive colonial state, they may as well bring back the French, the British and well...invite the Americans as well. They at least never evicted the natives out like the Zionists did. European-Zionists must go back to Europe where they came from and return to the Palestinians their lawful lands. I don't think this is an unreasonable demand.

49. There is only one solution: Israël
There is only one solution: a one state solution: Israël with Jerusalem as its capital. Westbank is Judeo-Christian heritage and thus should stay part of Israël (The Holy Land). Gaza back to Israël. Syria lost Golan heights permanently because they started the war to wipe out Israël that made them loose it. Further: The dismantling of UNRWA, Hizbollah, Hamas and PLO and a 100 Mile bufferzone. Also a compensation for the hundreds of thousands of Jews and their descendants who had to flee to Israël since '48 from Arab lands, and to all Israeli citizens who suffered from attacks by Palestinians since then. And Palestinians to Jordan. That was the whole idea of Jordan anyway. Peace.

52. Israel has written of peace without ever giving it a chance.
One of the bedrock convictions of nearly the whole spectrum of Israeli debate appears to be that Israel has been trying for peace for decades. This is simple nonsense. What Israel has been trying for for decades is a cessation of Palestinian acts of war against Israel, without once offering and end to Israeli acts of war against the Palestinians - never mind the thousands of civilians killed, driving people out of their homes and refusing to let them return, as the settlements and the wall do, is an act of war plain and simple. Of *course* this hasn't worked - the Palestinians won't accept much less than the 22% of their homeland left to them by the pre-67 borders, and the nearest Israel has come to offering that was at Camp David, when Barak insisted on keeping control of significant quantities of the best land under Israeli occupation. There are only four options for the land between the Jordan and the sea: 1) One government ruling over Israel, voted for by Israelis; another government ruling over Palestine, voted for by Palestine. This is the 2-state solution Israel is now rejecting. 2) One government ruling over Israel and Palestine, voted for by Israelis and Palestinians. This is the 1-state solution, and would mean the end of Israel as a Jewish state. 3) One government ruling over Israel and Palestine, voted for by Jews/Israelis or similar only. This is called Apartheid; it's also pretty much the status quo. 4) One government ruling over Israel and Palestine, voted for by everyone living there, but "removing" enough Palestinians to ensure a Jewish/Zionist majority. This is called "ethnic cleansing", and has been tried in various parts of the world. 3 and 4 are morally repugnant, and would mean Israel forfeiting US support and putting itself in the positions South Africa was in 20 years ago, or even the position Serbia was in 12 years ago. 2 would mean the end of Israel as a Jewish state. 1 is the only game in town. It would probably result in a lasting peace between Israel and its neighbours, fairly rapidly, but would mean Israel dismantling its settlements and withdrawing to the Green Line. Anyone who opposes that withdrawal has no right to call themself "pro-peace" - they're actively in favour of continued Israeli acts of war against the Palestinians, and even if they nominally support an end to Palestinian acts of war against Israel they're opposing the only course of action that has any chance of bringing that about.

53. 50-51 Thanks for proving my point
It appears that, in fact, it is the first explanation in my list: you ARE unable to comprehend complex thoughts expressed in any form other than a soundbite. As for your latest illiterate attempts, I have a couple of follow up thoughts. Not sure from where in my post you drew your bigotry conclusion. Yes, I think you have a very feeble mind and a poor capacity to express yourself, as illustrated in your rants. Does that make me a bigot? Your comments about mattan's post were not criticism (you did not address a single issue that he raised), but rather a dismissive personal attack. So was your response to my post. Finally, a geographic location does not necessarily signify nationality. In the context of your post you might find it ironic that I am also a US citizen.

56. No. 48 Let me re-state the obvious
It is interesting how you draw a dichotomy between Jews and Zionists. Please give me a chance to explain (capitalized letters do not imply shouting, but, rather, only used for emphasis): ZIONISM IS A NATIONAL LIBERATION MOVEMENT OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE. That's it, as simple as that. All these European Jews (but also Yemenite, Iraqi, N. African, Ethiopian, etc.) are descendants of the Jewish tribes scattered in the diaspora. After thousands of years of being persecuted in every country where we were a minority, someone had a crazy idea: to return to our historic homeland and stop being the persecuted minority. That is Zionism. I will respond to your final reactionary suggestion by making an almost equally reactionary one: all Arabs must leave Maghreb (including Morocco), go back to Arabia, where they are from, and stop oppressing the indigenous Berber inhabitants! (I have traveled extensively in your beautiful country several times and witnessed first hand the sad discrimination against the Berbers and their culture)

57. no. 51 - just one more thing
As for your backhanded insult against New Zealand ("We know involved they are in helping to take care of the difficult issues in the world. /end sarcasm " sic.), you might want to note that US just asked the NZ SAS (special forces) to assist in the Afghanistan campaign. It appears that there are quite a few, including in the US, who would disagree with your sarcasm. Bigotry? Hmmm...projecting a bit here, aren't you?
