It's one thing to research and discuss matters openly, it's quite another to twist facts around to suit a strongly-held opinion. This professor's stance - which is his own and should be kept that way - ignores many clear comparisons between Gaza and Concentration camps - namely, Jews were attacked because of being Jews, Hamas was attacked because of rockets (thrown on Jews because they were Jews). Besides being fired due to bringing the university (his boss) bad press, he should be fired because of bastardizing the true nature of academia and un-politicized discourse.

One can find the rare picture of Jews in the ghetto smiling and celebrating a birthday or secret wedding, but it cannot be used to say the Jews had a good life there, can it? The same with pictures of Gaza. They ignore the millions of dollars flowing through that strip of land, the rich investors who bankrolled many of the tunnels and live in mansions, and the tons of fuel, medical, and food aid coming into the region.
