1. outdated programs
Ben ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.05.09)
I have recently found this topic to be quite true. I suffer from alcohol dependence and in 2 days will also be homeless. I have been trying for several weeks to get admitted into a treatment program but find there are so few and very limited. I have reached the point of being desperate and destitute with no hope of treatment due to a system that is very outdated and lacking in social services. I was instructed to go to AA but that alone is not a solution for someone in need of medical care. I hope for someone to prove me wrong on this.

It's not just the rest of the world who cares not one hoot for the Israeli's, but Israel government themselves. How about taking care first for the sick, elderly and homeless, then pamper the arabs if you MUST!
3. Limited $ To Sick & Homeless, NOT down drain of Self-Abusers
InTheKnow   (05.05.09)
If we didn't pour endless $ into the bottomless drain for self-abusers, on whom it's ALL wasted on their own self-destruction, then we'd be far better able to help the sick, the unemployed who are seeking work and the homeless.

it is not true that 30 days sleeping out guarantees help.many longterm older homeless-usually wit h mentak health probs-get no help and are refused by matsavai cherum the jerusalem municipality homeless referral centre the figures of deaths are down only because the homeless figures are fudged.also many charedim wont seel council help and many generally wont because council shelter has been dangerous-alcohol,drugs,knife fights.and deaths
