1. Peres histrionics

Allthough I do think that some deal must be struck with the Arabs(Saudi peace plan anyone?) I agree with Hagai Segal on Peres empty historical talk. Peres is the most vain man in Israeli politics, his switch to Likud was his last opportunistic move. The reason Oslo became a failure is that both sides didn't do what was agreed. I still remember the relative quiet, accessability and economic growth during 1994 - 1998.

just one hide it better than the other.
3. Peres will never acknowledge he was wrong.

I'll never forget Peres interview on the "Charlie Rose" show during the Second Intifada. At the time, bombs were going off across Israel. Rose asked if, given events, there was anything he regretted, anything he wish he'd done differently. His answer: No.

5. Shimon Peres a historic failure
(05.12.09)
Even though this man "served" the state of Israel as long as Fidel Castro rulled Cuba. His biggest accomplished along with Rabin was the Oslo Accords. I hope before he is summoned to the next world, he will have the courage to admit that the Oslo Accords were a failure and a mistake.

Hopefully Bibi will not be influenced by Peres or any one else. Peres has been living in cloud cuckoo land for most of his life regarding the Arabs and peace. As President he now needs to keep out of politics. Why do Israelis feel that it's up to them to make peace with the Arabs? If the Arabs want peace let them say so, as Yitzchak Shamir rightly said. Haven't we had enough time to see that there will never be peace until As Golda Mier said 'the Arabs love their children more than they hate us' Nothing has changed. The Arab agenda remains the same, the destruction of Israel by whatever means it takes. Why all this Israeli guilt? Israel must learn to say 'NO' to any move that endangers it's survival and the security of it's people. A strong Jewish people and a strong Israel is what is needed now and an obsession with world opinion.

8. Peres is the Problem
Ira Gelnik ,   Caesarea, Israel   (05.12.09)
Listening to Peres these last few years, I can still remember Peres telling me face to face that we had to live in the territories. When I asked about the demographic problems he dismissed me with the observation that the Arabs would all leave. When I asked him how, he giggled and said don't worry, it will happen. This was in Chicago in 1971. Therefore I have always seen Peres as the problem not the solution.
9. Peres is a traitor!

Every time he opens his mouth it is selfishness and lies.
