1. you sound like a gazan
ghostq   (05.20.09)
yeah right, all the residents on that street r elders and sick, what he think we r, the UNt or the arab world! I found it hard to belive, he forgot to mention the women and children who suffer, not wait that is gaza, or is it.
2. would you cross the river to jordan
Issa Amro   (05.20.09)
like I cross the ordra river in Europe to be in my homeland
3. You Chose Your Own Fate By Choosing War
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (05.20.09)
You want to murder and ethnically cleanse the Jews from OUR Hebron like your grandparents did in 1929, and think that there wil be no ramifications? Sorry, habibi, but life doesn't work that way. Peace for peace or war for war, but I promise you that if you continue to choose the latter, it will get MUCH worse for you. Your choice.
4. Hebron is jewish, sorry
Yossu ,   Canada   (05.20.09)
Issa: When our jewish ancestors were rulers in in Hebron yours were primates hanging from trees (lovely creatures, btw, as opposed to what theyve become)...get used to it: hebron is jewish...we fought and died to get it back and will only return it by fighting and dying again if necessary
5. Get Real
Yisroel ,   USA   (05.20.09)
You are not second class citizens, you are not citizens at all. You are occupied and as that, are governed by new circumstances. You get peace when you give peace. My suggestion is if you don't like it either behave or move to Jordan.
6. Issa Amro
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron-Israel   (05.20.09)
This Issa Amro person is not a Hebron resident but a professional writer trying to attack Israel, to things: 1) Why do you publish this crap? 2) Dear Issa, is it really so unbearable, you have a solution, join your brothers in Jordan or Lebanon, or go to the US, just leave us alone.
7. hey ghostq !!! yeah man !!!!
cfs ,   fr and dz   (05.20.09)
go get a (real) life.
8. The soldiers are in the middle
Jo   (05.20.09)
Until a solution to Hebron is found, what can be done?? Soldiers I know in Hebron say they are in the middle, the Jews do not like them, the Arabs do not like them and the leftists are always telling them they are the oppressors. They dont like Hebron but see no way out. Until all residents of Hebron - Jews and Arabs - decide to live together with respect and dignity, nothing can be done. remembering what was will never help
9. yishai's stupidity
noor ,   Palestine   (05.20.09)
Thanks to the wars initiated by your warmongering slaughtering ruthless babykillers, the Palestinian people are stronger than ever. You can't defeat an oppressed people by war and massacres. Just where were you during cast lead? Your enemy Hamas was legitimized by your own war. The EU and great Britain now want to involve Hamas in the peace process, because they know that Hamas isn't going anywhere. Stop the terror and make peace.
10. Mr. Amro, as you know, problems in Hevron are not one-sided
Yishai ,   Bet Shemesh, Israel   (05.20.09)
As a resident of Hevron, you must be aware that Hevron is a center for Hamas terrorists. While Hamas and other active terrorist groups in Hevron are still dedicated to murdering Jewish people, it's strange that you would prefer to have a war break out in Hevron, rather than coping with inconvenient traffic on one street. Maintaining peace in a Conflict Zone isn't always convenient, but usually peaceful people consider the inconvenience preferable to the alternative of violence and bloodshed. Congratulations on owning a car - like most people in my town, I cannot afford one. In fact, the majority of people in Israel, and the rest of the Middle East don't have the luxury of owning a car. You're still more fortunate than most people in the world, even if you need to park your car on a different street. Let's pray for peace, so that the Zion Route can be open to all traffic without endangering the lives of the non-Muslim minority population in Hevron.
11. And what about us Jews in Jerusalem?
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (05.20.09)
What about the Apartheid policies the Islamic Waqf practices on the Jewish Qibla? What about the fact that your racist Arab government forbids land sales to Jews under penalty of death? What about the fact that your officials, both elected and unelected, have rejected the establishment of a Palestinian state EIGHT TIMES over the past 61 years??? Issa, why do you cry about "40 years of occupation" while saying nothing about your ongoing 2000 year old "occupation" of Jewish land? Your double standards and hypocrisy couldn't be more evident...
12. Jews can't even walk in 97 percent of Hevron
chava ,   yerushalayim   (05.20.09)
The road was closed to arabs when Jews were murdered on the road while walking from Kiryat Arba to the Maarat HaMachpeleh or to somewhere else in what is now the THREE percent of Hevron where Jews are permitted to go at all. Let's not talk about where arabs can't drive (on one road in Hevron.) Did you read that there were MK's who wanted to walk around in Hevron, and even the MK's weren't permitted to go anywhere except the THREE percent.
13. Is aking you to cease rocket & suicide attacks too much?
Andre ,   Sderot   (05.20.09)
The freedom of movement of Palestinian residents of the Zion Route will never be realized until arabS living there stop viewing Jews, and Israeli Law, as inauthentic. Ceasing from terrorist activity - should be the goal of "Palestinian struggle". Habits are hard to break. Can you people BUILD something and not just destroy?
14. #20 chava -let me plz correct you
abraham ,   hebron-palestine   (05.20.09)
you talk about 3% of hebron, but let me remind you and all others that actually it is 20%(of course the most important parts of the city) that are still under israeli and settler control (named H2). in that part of hebron are living more than 40.000 palestiniens and between 500 and 1.000 israelis. let me ask you something chava!!!! why cant those jews in hebron live under palestinien and international protection? be wise, this is the only solution .
15. To Ricardo Macher
Jay ,   Chicago   (05.20.09)
Please don't invite the palestinians to go to the US. We don't want them either.
16. Unbearable
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (05.20.09)
Unbearable for a Jordo-Egypti-Syrian to walk a block in any direction without laying eyes on the cursed Yahood.
17. Palestinians do themselves a disfavor
JPS ,   Efrat   (05.20.09)
Funny how the Palestinians are crying about access to Hebron. These are the same Palestinians who massacred the Jews and drove them out of the city 20 years before Israel was even a state. The Palestinian policy is very clear: they want ethnic cleansing of the entire Jewish population. They also want to hold on to the properties they stole from the Jews they murdered in the infamous massacre. These same Palestinians who want everything opened up to them are also the same Palestinians who have murdered dozens of Israelis over the years in Hebron... shootings, knifings and bombings. If Amro wants a change, let's hear the Palestinian leadership say so: that they will restore the stolen properties, they will cease their policy of violence, and they will accept Jews among the residents of Hebron, given that Jews have lived in the city almost continuously for thousands of years... until the Palestinians ethnically cleansed them in the 20th century.
18. First line is a lie. Why read the rest of the article?
Adam Eliyahu Berkowi   (05.20.09)
Jews are also restricted by the army. Jews cannot travel to area A. The army often spontaneously declares military zones, usually to restrict or shut down right wing protests. Arabs are permitted access to all of their holy sites. There are many holy sites Jews are not permitted access to. And even at face value, just as Arabs are restricted in Hebron, the Jews even more so. Arabs are also permitted to build without permits in Judah and Shomron. In short, if Ynet articles don't even have any connection with truth and reality, why read it. YNet is even more of an Arab propoganda tool than Al Jazeera.
19. really?
tom ,   toronto, canada   (05.20.09)
the reference to "second-class citizens" in this article is particularly galling. the residents of hevron, and the entire west bank are NOT citizens at all - they are under occupation! maybe they would prefer the "rights" that arab armies extend to those that they occupy? prior to the liberation in 1967, the jordanian army destroyed everything in the jewish quarter of east jerusalem, drove out the jews, and denied access to jewish holy sites. or perhaps, in the midst of all this plausible-sounding malarkey, mr. amro would care to explain what happened to the ancient jewish community in hevron? and why the supposedly peaceful residents riot, once in a while, and murder any jews that are nearby? or why the jewish owners of houses in hevron, who have owned them for over 100 years, cannot live peacefully in their own houses? please save these fairy tales of "evil settlers" for the international "solidarity movement" troublemakers, who might actually believe them!
20. to Issa, who feels so restricted
DS ,   Kiryat Arba   (05.20.09)
Issa, the day the PA allows ME to drive freely in Hevron, anywhere, without having to fear for my life, is the day YOU will be allowed to travel freely on our road along Kiryat Arba. TIT FOR TAT, that is easy to understand , isn't it?
21. You stop scratching my back and I'll wash your hands
cthrusoldier ,   miami beach, USA   (05.20.09)
Issa, What you are asking of Israel is more than Fatah, Hamas, or Hizbullah will ever do for you. Chevron and Yerushalayim are the two most holy cities in Eretz Yisrael. The Kings palace was and will be in Chevron. Is'nt it silly how the Arabs from the Galilee think the ones from Chevron are fools, and the Jerusalem Arabs laugh all the way to bank hapoalim because the tickets they pay in Chevron cover road work in Jerusalem eventually. We Jews disengaged from Gaza with many tears and melancholy. We still have nostalgia for the waves we used to surf there. Issa, you know that Terrorist=Criminal and that crime
22. Palestinian complaints
Michele Naumes ,   Houston USA   (05.20.09)
Goodness - such complaints without talking about the places Jews and Christians in the company of Jews cannot travel. How open is Bethlehem, Dome of the Rock? Perhaps the constant attacks by Palestinians' against Jews is causal. Get rid of Hamas and things will change. Support radicals and suspicion continues.
23. Issa, your state is in 78% of "palestine" a.k.a. JORDAN.
HEVRONISOURS ,   Judea   (05.21.09)
May I suggest you check that real estate out? Its 4x bigger than israel too.
24. to #9 quit whining the Maalot massacre in the 70's
ghostq   (05.21.09)
was even worse cause it was intentional, well planned murder of children and one pregnant woman by 3 palis. no sympathy to palis with short memory.
25. to #7 thank you, but I am right
ghostq   (05.21.09)
palis loves when someone else pitty them, they r use to be the victim, so they act like a victim even when they r not, that way they can justify the violence toward innocent Israely, like a 13 year old child who got murderd by an exe, he was a child and the west banker who killd him was 25 years old. again no sypathy for people who choose violence as a way of life. they want movment but they try to run over Israelies. so quit your pointles whining, cause nobody cares.
26. #24,thanks for reminding us
jerusalem   (05.21.09)
we almost forgot. almost like we forgot jenin, khan younis, the hebron mosque massacre, deir yassin, qibya, kfr qasem, even at the al aqsa mosque in 1990. i dont know what your trying to prove, maybe if you included the term "holocaust" people might then give you some sympathy for your own "short memory".
27. Arab decry security measures? Try living as a Dehimi!
Golan ,   SL   (05.22.09)
Arabs are the last people on earth (save maybe Germans) to complain about how THEY are being treated. Look how they treat Jews! A Jew cannot own or ride a horse within eyesight of a Muslims (Mohammad forbid a Jew's head might be higher than a Muslim.) So spare me your BS. Hebron has the most violent and nasty Arab community in th eland of Israel. And the violence did not start in 1967 or 1947.
28. #26 It's easy to forget
(05.22.09)
Things that never happened (Jenin) or things that you take the context away from such as the Al Aqsa, where Palestinians rioted at the thought, not action, of the Jewish temple being rebuilt, much like they did in Hebron in 29. The difference is that the Israeli forces didn't permit them to riot by killing Jews until they felt betting. The sooner Arabs learn to live with Israel's existence is the sooner everyone can live in peace.
29. MUSLIMS MUST RESPECT THE JEWISH RIGHTS
minutman ,   California, USA   (05.22.09)
the Muslims must respect the Jewish Right to the Jewish land. Issa Amro & Hebron residents must stop the hate mongering incitement onJews in the Musqus, schools, prayers. When Muslims teach respect for Jews, Street will be open Minutman
30. #28, likewise easy of forgetting
jerusalem   (05.22.09)
You can choose to ignore the atrocities and actions of IL as if they never happened- then again thats your loss if you want to take it like that then also the sooner the Jews learn to live with the Arabs existence is the sooner everyone can live in peace. it goes both ways.
