1. No... electing a terrorist gang of thugs to rule over you
has brought about ,   catastrophe   (05.28.09)
and you will find no sympathy from the good Ol USA. Ever again. So suck it up. You made your bed now lie in it.
2. Gaza - the highest concentration of sheer stupid on.........
Cameron ,   USA   (05.28.09)
the planet. Foolish folk stewing in a foolish reality. Hamas on ya!
3. gaza disaster
moron ,   galut   (05.28.09)
britain and the turks never gave arab residents of 'palestine' self-rule...now thanx to israel they have it!
4. Hamas turned Gaza into a mini-terror state.
Dave Ronen ,   Haifa   (05.28.09)
When Israel pulled out of Gaza, the world waited to see what the Palestinians would make of it, as a prelude to their having a full state including the West Bank. The first thing the Palestinians did was smash all the greenhouses the settlers had built, instead of using them to aid their economy. Then they turned Gaza into a mini-terror state, launching a war against Israel that continues to this day. And now they wonder why life in Gaza is so wretched, when it could have flourished. To those who say we should not isolate Hamas: Hamas isolated itself, with its aggression not only against Israel but also against other Palestinians. When the aggression will stop, the isolation will stop. But the aggression will never stop as long as Palestinian extremists continue to enjoy support from their self-righteous cheering section, which has chapters all over the world and in many universities and trade unions as explained at : http://xrl.us/bi7j5
5. Gaza was a disaster the day we left and everyone there...
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem Israel   (05.28.09)
knows it.
6. Gaza disaster brought by Hamas, NOT Israel!
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (05.28.09)
Don't worry, Hamas lords are fat and rich. They can afford to sacrifice thousands on the altar of Islam, selling impossible hallucynations of a genocide of the Jewish people. Gazans really DESERVE their fate - maybe now they see that electing Hamas was, for many of them, a fatal mistake.
7. The Gazans brought the present situation upon themselves and
Ephraim Yerushalmi   (05.28.09)
can undo it. They can simply join the family of nations and declare that Israel, a UN member country, is here by right as the nation-state of the Jewish people; they can cease all acts of terror and violence against Israel and the preparations for such acts; and they can adhere to agreements with Israel already signed by them. And of course, they can and must release Gilad Shalit without any preconditions. But they don't do any of the above; indeed, they still call for the annihilation of the Jewish state, prepare the means with which to do so and spit at agreements signed by them. And of course, Shalit is is still to see a single Red Cross personnel after more than three years in captivity - what is the role of the Red Cross in that is a different matter that must, must be addressed with the Red Cross!!! So, good people, complain to Hamas, to Iran, to the Red Cross.
8. Israel War-Gaza Disaster
Bruria ,   Haifa   (05.28.09)
Wake up! They had the land and each time they started a war--including when we left Gush Katif. They could have gone in and continued to grow the most beautiful produce--instead they smashed everything and built terror camps. This is a people with one goal, get rid of Israel so they can take over the rest of the world and they will lie and whine and say whatever they think will accomplish their goal. They want Israel to make concessions?? Name just one that they have made--ever!
9. Gaza and Amnesty and Co.
DT ,   TA Israel   (05.28.09)
Good. They brought it on themselves. Perhaps Amnesty and Human "Blights" Watch will go down with them and do prejudice a favour
10. Amnesty International
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (05.28.09)
Take notice that AI does not condemn shooting rockets on israeli civilians, and that it expects israel not to respond and not protect its civilians. AI should be condemned for racism by a british judge !
11. Hamas not Israel brought Gaza to the disaster
Daniel ,   Amsterdam   (05.28.09)
12. Nobody has noticed..........
Israeli grandmother   (05.28.09)
Its not just the Israeli border which is mostly closed. Also the EGYPTIAN border is kept sealed most of the time, while the smuggling tunnels are in the 100's leading from Egyptian territory. Why is on Israel being criticised. Can it be that Hamas is also threatening the peace and security of Egyptians?? Their kin?
13. So what?
Moshe   (05.28.09)
14. Good doers should move to Sderot
I. Barr ,   USA   (05.28.09)
Amnesty International chroniclly ignored human rights violations when Hamas/Fatah launched missiles and mortars on Israeli civilians. Amnesty International ignored Hamas using children combatant a violation of Geneva Convention rules. Amnesty International is criticizing Israel because it is easier to do so than appearing as criticizing Muslim world. They lip service, women and gay rights violations in Iran and did not come with one declaration about Iran nuclear program and their call to destroy a UN member state.
15. Amnesty International = Terrorist Support Network
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (05.28.09)
Somehow Arab terrorism is excused, somehow rockets and mortars against civilians is not an issue. War crimes by the tens of thousands are nothing. Well Amnesty International is nothing as well. Just another British terrorist support network.
16. And not a word
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (05.28.09)
About the human rights violations among Israeli civilians from Hamas suicide bombers and from 10,000 missiles which were fired into Israeli civilian areas from Gaza on a daily basis for an eight-year period. Not a single word. Amnesty International is an organization that has clearly outlived its usefulness. Maybe they should issue reports on human rights abuses in the Congo and in Dharfur. Not a word from them concerning that, have you noticed?
17. Just The Brink? Damn! Should Have Fought For 23 Days!
David H ,   Marietta USA   (05.28.09)
Do it right, next time. And do it right the first time in Iran, Mr Netanyahu!
18. **** Amnesty, human shields don't have human rights
Grigorius   (05.28.09)
They democratically chose to stop being human and become a weapon/armor.
19. ALL ISRAELS FAULT AGAIN
ben Ish   (05.28.09)
IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH TERRORISTS ATTACKING, OR ELECTING HAMAS, OR BOMBS OR ROCKETS. ITS ALL ABOUT ISRAEL DEFENDING ITSELF, WHICH THE WORLD SAYS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
20. To: Amnesty International
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (05.28.09)
From today's Stratfor Intelligencer "Taliban militants in Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province have continued to kill students and teachers and destroyed school buildings, forcing 75 of the 228 public schools in the province to close down, Helmand’s deputy minister of education said, The Washington Post reported May 28. Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yousuf Ahmadi said that the Taliban have never claimed responsibility for burning down schools and that government officials are blaming them without any evidence." Amnesty International: here's a war crime for you to address.
21. unconditional surender
Wade ,   NYC USA   (05.28.09)
Gazans can have peace, freedom and eventually prosperity...by proffering their unconditional surrender to Israel. They choose violence, so they suffer. The whole world is offering them handouts, so if they would agree to peaceful coexistence they could build instead of being destroyed.
22. #15
J K ,   NYC, USA   (05.28.09)
You are correct. The sad point is that the Left actually hates the Arabs. They think of them as incapable acting like normal human beings so they are left to whip responsible parties like Israel and excuse the other side as morons who can't control themselves. If I were an Arab, I'd be insulted.
23. DOESN'T GAZA HAVE AN EGYPTIAN BORDER? Let them go there
David ,   Montreal, Canada   (05.28.09)
24. The rockets mostly stopped, that was the idea when they
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (05.28.09)
started bombing. hamass thought they were immune by putting their explosives in mosques and family homes. Well, even hamass can learn that it is capable of misjudging Israel.
25. Please clarify
Ahmad   (05.29.09)
I thought hamas won.
26. Where's Gilad Shalit?
petra ,   uSA   (05.29.09)
has he been forgotten by Obama and Israel?
27. Israel war...or slaughter
chris ,   narrogin,western aus   (05.30.09)
Boy, some of you people. Gaza was attacked to purely destroy civilian infrastructure.....not Hamas. Amnesty has it right, but there are orgs out there that are designed to support only one view.See who funds them.

while I personally agree with you about one-sided and biased reporting by AI, you should know that there are there are daily reports about many places and cases around the world. You hear about the once concerning Israel, obviously. if you check their website under Israel, of course ther are xxxxx reports. Check other countries and you will find almost as many. They report on everything- and it is done by private people- I suspect many reports are not checked for authenticity or research value. They give the number of people in each country who are reporting incidences- Afghanistan has no rep. at the moment. I have known reporting members of AI and they are notorious bleeding hearts- always up in arms over some cause or another. What started out as a worthy movement has now become a huge machine with agendas. http://thereport.amnesty.org/en/regions/asia-pacific/afghanistan
