The Right’s real enemies    Yossi Sofer
1. What are "small concessions?"
Neither Madrid nor Wye River were small concessions but terrible capitulations. The Madrid conference legitimated the PLO and the "Palestinian" Muslim cause toward the destruction of Israel. Shamir made a huge blunder by caving-in to G. H. W. Bush and James Baker III, both anti-Semitic / Israel haters. What Mr. Netanyahu consummated at Wye River with Bill Clinton and arch-terrorist Yasser Arafat was equally, if not more harmful. At the moment, Mr. Netanyahu is dismantling outposts - expelling Jewish families - in order to appease Israel's enemies. This is wrong. What is next? Will he dismantle whole settlements like Ariel Sharon did, uprooting thousands of Jews? How much can reasonable people withstand? Principled men and women have red lines. There are those smarter than myself wondering whether Mr. Netanyahu has learned from his past mistakes. If Netanyahu causes this government coalition to collapse because he caves-in sufficiently to this evil U.S. president, the blame will rest squarely with him and him alone. He should not be making any dangerous concessions to this Israel-hater in Washington. I understand the prime minister is being sorely tested. This is what separates the men from the boys. The Jews have few friends in Washington. President B. Hussein Obama is not going to lift a finger to help Israel with the Iranian threat. Quite the opposite. The only way Netanyahu and Israel can garner support is by standing firm in the face of immoral pressure from a hostile U.S. government; otherwise Israel will earn contempt from our friends and our enemies alike.

5. Re: # 1 plus extention
B"H I agree with you Steve and not for the first time. Please join the jewishyisrael mailing list on www.thetorahrevolution.blogspot.com. Having said that I would like to extend on your comment. What's sad however is that even bright guys like Sofer fail to think outside of the box. And I mean fail to think Jewish. Why? Because they fear it is “unrealistic”. Or because they fear it would not be “understood”. I say these are unwarranted fears. What do I mean? I mean that he actually types the fraise "Politics does not enable the existence of a pure and ideal state over time" - yet he shies away from drawing the only - Jewish - conclusion possible: quit politics! The Jewish nation is the only one that have survived written history and this unique and remarkable and continous victory is not achieved by playing politics. Quite the opposite: it's due to the rigid refusal of partaking in the compromise game, in what we call knesset today. The only plan that proved itself over time for the Jews is G-d's plan. It might not be a "peace plan", sometimes it might even be a "war plan", we might not immedietly understand its ins and outs, but it is the only survival or "how to be successful" plan and we know for sure that it works. You don’t need to be “religious” to understand this simple fact, it is enough to look into the mirror and see a living Jew facing you: a miricle you shouldn’t take for granted. This is the visible sign and should prove to anyone with a thinking head that we don't need to re-invent hot water, peace plans, road maps and whatnots. We have one plan we know works: the Torah! That is why it is mind-bugling for me not to see a massive push to have Jewish Torah institutions in Eretz Israel: in order for us to survive in this hostile environment we have to break out of this Hellenistic trap called "democracy" we are forced in to. It is in fact unreasonable to think that our G-d given survival plan that worked for 5000 years, won’t work us now. You don’t need to be religious to understand this point: you need to be rational. The Torah clearly tells us what institutions to set up in Eretz Israel and how to run them: the Beit Hamigdash on the Temple Mount in Yerushalayim, the King, the Sanhedrin and courts of justice in every village. We shouldn’t have this “democratic” system, it may be good for the nations, but it is alien to us. Therefore the first step of action to survive as Jews is to disengage from knesset, from the alien system forced upon us. The first step for a Jew for peace is not to vote!

6. People beieve what they want
Obama said several times: i am am from Muslim family. Every Arab knows that he is the Muslim. His bast friend is Farukhan, they lived neaby. I promissed this guy that wouldn't be Israel after his 8 years. Bibi thinks that by doing something he will get a job in US for his family. May be??? You can not say that you keep Jerusalem and Tel Aviv as a some sort of card that you can later give up. The land is yours or NOT yours. Decide now! Do not play cards.

8. Peace with security... what a nightmare!
This says everything one needs to know about the Israeli right...

9. why don't you assume that BIBI is wrong?
You seem to assume that Netaniahu could do whatever he wants and that the ones that rightist themselves by not going along and toppling the rightist govrnments are wrong. Maybe Netaniahu is wrong and should be listening to his electorate and should not put himself in a situation like that. He is not elected to do from a right platform what he wants, he was elected to head a right government

10.  well written
Dear Mr. Sofer, This is by far the most accurate analysis of the right wing movement in Israel. You address all the issues simply and to the point. This article should be distributed in Sinagoges all over israel. Please, keep writing . Well done
