The Jewish population in Iran has decreased from 100,000 in 1948 to approximately 20,000. They now live as dhimmis with restrictions. Obviously life has not been so good for them or they would not have left in such great numbers. They are not allowed to travel to Israel directly from Iran nor are they free to express their support for Israel. But an effort was made to bring Jews from Iran to Israel just a few months ago and the offer of assistance was accepted. Asking Jewish citizens who have had a presence in Iran for centuries to take a loyalty pledge is an insult.
