Ses ,   Florida   (06.03.09)
It is about time the Israeli arabs who love to complain and help undermine Israel every chance they get are forced to step up or step out ... if they cannot support their homeland by helping to defend it then why should they be permitted to stay. And I am not opposed to Israeli arabs protesting or having a different agenda or even supporting palestinian points of view in the peace negotiations. But at the end of the day they need to decide where they stand, just as many of us in the US do when the government does things we do not support,. We are still US citizens and we should defend the state against all those that try to destroy it. Seems to me the Israeli arabs want it both ways, Israeli democracy while supporting Palestinians and arabs who try to destroy Israel. So go for it, Yishai, end the free ride and let the arabs state where they stand .. are they Israelis who happen to be arabs or, Palestinians, because if they are Palestinians they can move there once its created. Bye bye
5. but, Bashara has never bigged to get back citizenship

Eli !, where in Torah?
6. Citizenship
Avi ,   Ashkelon   (06.03.09)
What about Jews who spy on the state? People who want to revoke the citizenship of others should have their own citizenship revoked.
7. Dangerous project
Frank ,   Canada   (06.03.09)
A minister cannot be given this kind of power without any control.
8. I agree with Frank in Canada
Yakov   (06.04.09)
He (or any other minister) needs to be accountable. The way it is now is fine. If it must be changed, then have him go before the Supreme Court.
9. " without first consulting the attorney general....
Aaron ,   LA, USA (Formerly SF   (06.04.09)
....or a court of law" THIS IS WRONG. But it also makes me wonder how many other governments actively do this.
10. yishai move
Alexi   (06.04.09)
Normally I would not agree to Yishais move as he showed himself to be an olmert lapdog who was in power only for favors to shas-nothing else. However, considering mazuz who while a good man, acts like a limp coward and has taken forever in indicting olmert, I agree to yishai's plan. mazuz takes too long and inevitably makes decisions based in part of meretz policies. We all know olmert is a crook and liar. Indict the bastard already and stop consenting to his phony sloan kettering stall tactcs.
11. Hostile Arabs & anti-Zioinist Jews
niki/shosh ,   los angeles ca usa   (06.04.09)
should have their citizenship revoked not reap the benefits of Isral our ONLY Jewish homeland. Both are traitors in our midst surrounded by MANY arab/muslim countries & the bleeding heart media who don't realize Christians as well as Jews are dhimmis, persecuted by our muslim cousins AGHH The religion of peace according to thr Koran. And how many have bothered reading Hamas,Fatah convert to Islam or be killed by the sword?? Jewish & Zionist forever.. Never Again ! Long live the JDL Shosh
12. the direction Israel is heading is horrible...
Chris ,   Warsaw, Poland   (06.04.09)
since Livni's refusal to form a coalition with Likud, the news from Israel are darker and darker... who can stop it?
13. Yishai is indeed a sick man
Avi ,   Rannana   (06.04.09)
Eli Yishai who is the puppet spokesman for Shas cult leader Ovadia Yosef is indeed a dangerous man. For such a rascist as Yishai to start deciding who and who can not be a citizen is a very dangerous thing. Yishai is a religious fanatic who preys on anyone who does not share his fanatical views. After his hate campaign against Israels gay community in which he incited hatred and violence , will he now be attempting to deport gay people. In any other democratic country he would have been removed from his position. This sick individual clearly demonstrates the need to seperate religion from politics.
14. Dear Arabs, would you call Bashar Assad "racist"?
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (06.04.09)
Farid Gadri, of the opposition Syrian Reform party, had his Syrian citizenship revoked by Syrian president Bashar Assad, after he visited the Knesset. By the Israeli-Arab way of reasoning, this would make Assad a racist.

Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (06.04.09)
Thank you for your concern, yet I think a Pole should be the last to preach to Israel about darkness. Your own president's shameful homophobic remarks are second only to Ahmadinejad. While your radio station "Radio Maryja" constatnly blurs out intense antisemeitic propeganda. You think revoking citizenship for traitors is "darkness"? In America, Jonathan Pollard was jailed for life, for spying for Israel, a friendly country. And are you aware of what they do in Lebanon these days for people suspected of aiding Israel? Every country is very harsh against traitors. I wonder what was the punishment for Polish citizens for collaborating with the Communists?
16. So long as the law applies to all citizens, Arabs should not
Gavriel ,   Nahariah, Israel   (06.04.09)
complain, they should only be loyal to Israel.
17. Remove citizenship to all draft dodgers!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (06.04.09)
Jew and non Jew alike!
18. The amendment applies to ALL, no mention of arabs or Jews in
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (06.04.09)
the wording. ANYONE who is a traitor and helps an enemy should lose citizenship. They don't take away your citizenship in Saudi Arabia if you are a traitor, they chop off your head. Since Israel has no death penalty, sending a traitor to gaza is a good idea, that is once they have finished their prison sentence.
19. Pioneer
Incredible request   (06.04.09)
Is this guy going to be the first person to protest when the table is turned and the position and authority given to a leftist who wants to revoke the citizenship of religious settlers? Of course he is. If Israel wants to maintain bragging rights about being the only ME democracy, she better not be handing out this sorts of power to indivuduals obviously not interested in trusting the law and due process. In short, it is a monumentally huge bad idea.
20. Hypocrit
Antonio ,   Haifa   (06.04.09)
He voted against the loyalty oath, but he wants the right to revoke citizenship... what a douche. How about he accept loyalty oath low, instead, and stop being a useless clown just for once.
21. isnt revoking citizenship non-democratic?
Israeli   (06.04.10)
Why are we selectively revoking citizenship at all? A government shouldn't be able to revoke citizenship. If he commits a crime, he is charged and goes to jail. Revoking citizenship is just childish emotionalism.
