First of all, he won't. Secondly, it would be blasphemy. I'm not even happy that Obama visited Buchenwald. It wasn't a reality check for him -- it was a pep talk. Please. Leave the place to us Jews. We're the only ones who understand it.
2. Obama speak
Pete ,   Bat Yam   (06.05.09)
What he means is that Ahmadinejahd should stop talking about nuking Israel and come visit Buchenwald to see how it was done successfully with the world not uttering a sound! Obama would not shed a tear or lift a finger should the Arabs wipe out the State of Israel in a manner that would not any world objections. He says he has no patience for those who change history yet he in his Cairo speech change history numerous times

I'm by no means a fan of President Hussein, but his remarks here are spot on. Credit where it's due...

Even his own uncle admitted that his visit to Buchenwald was not based on any emotion or belief but PURE POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY!

Obama went to visit Buchenwald as a ploy. He thinks Israel was created as a result of the Holocaust. The Jews suffered and now have a State. Now Obama will use this as a pretext, that the Palestinians suffered, thereby wanting a State. The problem is, The Jews have been around for 4000 years, were in their Homeland & kicked out. The so called Palestinians arabs are being used as pawns to finish up what the Nazi started 70 years ago. It hurts, but we have survived worst. Look behind you. We have been around longer than Christianity & Islam

Is a President who says, NEVER AGAIN while isolating N. Korea yet appeasing IRAN. Talk is cheap. We all know the outcome and this means we as Jews much act! When Obama traveled to Egypt one of the most oppressive and repressive countries on the planet and lectured Israel the only democracy in the ME knowing the country he was speaking in allowed thousands of weapons tunnels dug which brought death to Jews, this alone should be a wake up call!! Furthermore, Obama see's great opportunities in Mideast for sure AND at our expense. While making it very clear he will isolate N. Korea he insists on diplomacy with Iran. Where at the Durban conference the Iranian delegation shouted Zionazi to Elie Wiesel. http://www.youtube.com/v/zV3rw_QOD7U&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1">

I am not sure I agree with you Sarah- keeping the 'place to the Jews'- is wrong- the more people see it, know about it, the less likely it will happen again. The Holocaust was not just a Jewish tragedy, althought the Jews suffered the most- it was tragic for mankind. It is too late for the victims- but it is never too late for present and coming generations to hear and see-otherwise it becomes something one maybe hears about in history- which most students sleep through anyway.... It cannot and should not be a Jewish exclusive- because in the end you cannot blame people for not knowing. Education and teaching tolerance and understanding is the only way not to make the same mistake again. I have all respect for Jews wanting to have their own private pain- but the Holocaust was a European tragedy- the Jews in Europe were part of the European community, neighbors, friends, not some country far away. There was bad politics by bad people and weak and misguided people not doing something about it . We try hard to learn, improve, teach- with ideas like yours this becomes more difficult and futile.

Obama's obsession with linking the Shoah to our supposed occupation of the poor Palestinians is why he went to Buchenwald. If any people on earth deserve statehood it is the Kurds to which the world does nothing to fulfill their rightful aspirations: http://home.cogeco.ca/~kurdistan/10-8-04-opinion-palestinian-betrayal-of-kurds.html http://www.ekurd.net/mismas/articles/misc/kurdishstatehood.htm While we may all have some misgivings with the writings of Dershowitz and Halkin we surely must ask if the Kurds sat next to Israel would the world be shamming us as they are so doing now?!

You completely misquoted him! He did not say he has no patience for those you CHANGE history. His exact quote was "I have no patience for people who would DENY history." There is a huge difference! Change/innovation is what drives history. Either you a reading to fast or have let you hatred toward him disable your literary skills. I am guessing that you (like so many of your fellow talkbackers)already have your mind made up and there is nothing he can do or say to change that. So be it..... I strongly dislike and disagree with Bibi. But i would not purposefully flip his words around to try and argue my point of view. That only hurts any rational point you might be trying to make. If you truely believe that Obama, and the US, would stand by idly and watch Isreal be destroyed, then you truely have let anger and hatred cloud your judgement. There is virtually no American that wants to see Isreal destroyed. But if your leaders and people continue this non-sense and slander about him (photoshoping pics and calling him the new Hitler or the anti-christ) you might not find us as welling to give you the almost unconditional support that you now receieve (even when it hurts our internationl reputation, which WE do care about)

My father was liberated from Buchenwald. Ninety-nine percent of his family was liquidated there. What was that you said about understanding and tolerance? And no, dear, the Holocaust refers EXCLUSIVELY to the attempt to exterminate the Jews. Yes, the Gypsies were targeted for total extermination, too. The difference, my dear, is that the Gypsies did not have any university professors. They did not have any Nobel laureates. They did not have any symphony orchestra musicians. They did not have any physicians. They did not have any lawyers. They did not have any accomplished and distinguished contributors to society at large. Nothing against the Gypsies ...... but they weren't the Jews. The Nazis targeted -- and exterminated -- a lot of people. But the Holocaust refers to the attempt to exterminate the Jews. Please do not diminish it.

how do you know that Obama is obsessed with anything? He went to Buchenwald because his friend Eli Wiesel is a Buchenwald survivor- and was showing him around. If people would just read the facts and not make up stories and repeat and repeat- . So, what do the Kurds have to do with all this? Obama is trying to improve relations between countries- this might not be to your personal liking, but at least he is trying, which is more than can be said for many other statesmen. After all is said and done: the Palestini, like the Kurds . There needs to be a solution. Either with or without Israel's consent. So far all the peace talks have not worked- should we all give up hope and walk away? You TBs keep accusing everybody of not doing anything, of interfering, of taking the wrong side- well....... what is it ? You haven't been able to solved the problem so far, not with talks, not with wars- and rejecting every offer and idea outright is not going to be very productive either.
