Report: Saudi king asks Obama to impose solution    Roee Nahmias
31. Saudi Arabia's right to exist
More effort needs to be put into discussing this question. Why did W. go out of his way to put the Bin Laden family on a private jet back to Saudi? This was his first act after "9/11". Are the Saudis the power behind the ever-weakening USA?
Sheila Xing ,   Beijing   (06.08.09)
32. Obama can't say No becos he took the bling bling
from stupid Saudi King. When Iran got the nuke, the King will be begging Israel for protection
Zohan ,   Tel Aviv   (06.08.09)
33. "Impose a solution"?...."IMPOSE A SOLUTION"?
Wouldn't that be contrary to what Obama declared - that he cannot and will not impose one? Are you bloody trying to tell the US President what to do? But then, if he already knowtowed to you in the past, this time he may also hand over the Vaseline, eh? It's worth a try! In any case I don't believe that by "imposing a solution" K. Abdullah meant "forcing Hamas, Iran, Hezbollah, Syria etc. to renouce their plans and dreams of wiping Israel off the map." That would be too much! It is infinitely easier to bring Israel to its knees, wouldn't it, Abdallah? The thing is that you are DREAMING or DRUGGED if you think that Israel will accept ANY solution which would jeopardize its existence as a Jewish State. Knwing our enemies, anything less than that would be unaccaptable, so I guess Peace is not possible, eh? And please allow me to LAUGH IN YOUR FACE at the pathetic and cheap demagogy: "We Arabs want to devote our time to building people, building a generation that is capable of handling the future through knowledge and action, we have a genuine desire for peace". You had 1500 years to do that! 99.99% of the terror attacks and conflicts on the globe are perpetrated by Arabs in Islam's name! What do you think will changeour opinion of your true intentions? Your WORD? Time for empty words is OVER. The time is to ACT! If you act for war and terror, we don't care what you say! We will ACT to defend ourselves by whatever means and at whatever cost - to you and to us! So before bestowing your peaceful words onto us, first make sure that Saudi Arabia and its partners do a fist ACTIVE step of recognizing Israel and setting up an embassy in Jerusalem! THAT is proof that you want peace! THEN we will have no choice but to reciprocate. We are sick and tired to be the first to make first steps! We've done so many, and so many times we've been "rewarded" with more terror, more racism, more intolerance, more wars from the Arab side, that for whatever we know, it is high time taht Arabs do a "first step" too! A TANGIBLE ONE! FOR PEACE!

34. The 'magic key...'
will be for bellicose jerks like the King to open up Saudi Arabia to other religions, to allow churches and synagoges to be built there, to allow the Jews to return to their ancestral towns and villages. Oops! I did it again! I forgot that the prophet murdered and expelled all the Jews and made dhimmis of everyone not joining his biker-gang religion. Sorry King! Israel has every right to snub your 'peace' plan. Grow up, the entire world still considers you the prime source of all the Islamic terrorists worldwide. Now that's something to be proud of. Have you no shame? Clean up your own house before you tell poor little Israel what it must do.

35. A great diversion like a world wide earthquake to
keep the Muslims so busy rebuilding to finance terrorism is the magic key for this age. That is coming: a world wide earthquake that will cause all idols and towers and spires to collapse. There is another diversion on the horizon that could have a similar effect: the North-South Pole shift with 200 miles per hour winds in bands around the earth for an hour or so. That would do so much damage, the Muslim would would have to divert its attention to their own problems instead of their plans to attack Israel and the Western world. Then there is the Las Palmas Volcano near North Africa that is about to fall into the ocean when it erupts which would cause a mammoth tsunami east and west to cause havoc and divert attention from the silly Palestinians who want to rebel and destroy instead of cooperating with whatever government they are governed by: Israel, Jordan, Lebanon. The legacy of the Palestinians is terror and destruction.

36. Pressure
The palestinians already have a state but the jews control security . The gazan part needs to be eased by immigration to saudi arabia sunni bagdad and iran a milion people must leave to release the pressure the hamas fighters must go and get jobs in the construction industry for their people.
zichron   (06.08.09)
37. Let's have a solution
First Saudi Arabia with it's vast under populated lands takes all the 'Palestinians' and gives them citizenship. Second Saudi Arabia pays 100 billion Euros from their vast warchest for all the terrorism they have caused Israel. Third Saudi Arabia reimburses every Jew thrown out of Arab lands for their property let behind. Then we can have peace.

38. Obama to oil tick: Yes, yo heinous.....
Very humourous this Saudi absolute ruler tyrant type person: "We Arabs want to devote our time to building people...." does he think that being busy in the oil tick business and acquiring a vast personal fortune these past decades has gone unnoticed? If the Arabs had wanted to invest in being something other than primitives with fancy toys there has been plenty of opportunity.

39. #31 here is the only answer that matters
to your question... the bin Laden family/group is large with many ties to royal family so it should come to no suprise that many of these people flown out of the country in many respect had dilopmatic functions within USA. As a country,USofA, fully supports diplomatic norms, even to those that are hostile to our interests. In many respects sending these people home was our way of saying we no longer trust these people in our country, we don't know where they stand or what they stand for, therefore to advoid the problems of a breach in diplomatic circles it is best they leave. What your question seems to want to address is why didn't we round them up and put them in a detention camp, to which my responce is that would be a serious breach of diplomatic protocall. I could just as equally restate your question into my point of view. how come the chinese govt didn't restrain the mobs attacking our embassy in china back in the mid 90's, it is the sole responcibility of the host country to prevent such things from happening under all circumstances. The preservation of diplomatic norms is the sole foundation, I might add the only source, of keeping the door open to the future in times of stress in relations between countries. You my friend can count your lucky stars that the USA govt is still an arch believer to these principles.

40. IMPOSE FREEDOM OF WORSHIP TO OTHER RELIGIONS FIRST
A LOT OF BASIC CORRECTING NEEDS TO BE PERFORMED IN SAUDI ARABIA,WHICH THE CHRISTIAN WORLD TURNS A BLIND EYE TO...ALL FOR "OIL".IF EMBASSIES EXIST THERE,WHY CANT ISLAM PERMIT CHURCHES TO ARISE WITHIN THEIR MIDST? BECAUSE THEY ARE BIGGOTED!
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (06.08.09)
41. 31
Saudi Arabia is ruled by a royal family of around 500 individuals. Israels system is screwed up and doesn't work 90% of the time but it is democratic. Who has the more right to exist under the American idea of liberty?
zionist forever   (06.08.09)
42. Saudi progress and gratitude.
Well, they have just allowed their citizens in Riyadh to go to the cinema. No women, of course, and the fundamentalists objected. When Saddam had run over Kuwait and was right next door to the Saudis ,we kicked him out at their behest. Then Bush went, hat in hand, and begged for lower oil prices, and they said when the market warrants it.
David ,   USA   (06.08.09)
43. Obama: Manifest Destiny for Muslims, Trail of Tears for Jews
Obama's message is part and parcel of another American narrative, usually swept out of sight and mind: The United States shall dehumanize the enemy as savages, steal their homeland, force them to sign treaties that won't be honored by Washington, and finally push them onto reservations. The US is not relinquishing the Dakotas to the Sioux, and Poland is not relinquishing east Prussia to Germany. Israel should also realize that it must play for keeps against the strange new US President and his nasty little running dogs (including that queer ballerina Rahm Emmanuel)

44. What's wrong with PEACE?
Ever had an argument with someone.. what happens? No one speaks and both hold resentments. Nothing gets resolved. Communication and ACTION IS THE ANSWER to solve this problem. However, if Obama wants to look at the situation of today and not yesterday to resolve this matter, what's wrong with that. There have been generations of people after the historical conflict of Israel and Palestine that are paying the price. The ignorant that are acting radical and destructive are continuing to this day. It's a shame because if they united, they'd probably be both empowered more for themselves than now. It seems like the new King is taking some real steps for positive solutions that hasn't been done before. The ARAB PEACE INITIATIVE which has his country and all the other arab countries acknowledge Israel's right to exist.. I mean, isn't that one of the reasons for the conflict there. Wasn't there a war over that. After all, WHAT DOES EVERYONE HAVE TO LOSE AND WHY IS EVERYONE ACTING CRITICAL FOR A CHANCE OF SOME REAL PROGRESS HERE? Ever wonder if some of this negative feedback might actually be the cause of why there hasn't been a solution yet? I mean, if people are truly looking for peace, you can't start off the conversation by being negative and dismissive.. Ask yourself this, has anyone ever tried doing that with a sibling or a friend or just anyone.. how far does that get you? Whether your Jewish, Christian, or Muslim, or whatever - Isn't there an inner desire for people to want this problem over with? There are people from both sides dying everyday.. It's pretty sad how it sometimes feels like a negative or dismissive comment truly feels like another Israeli or Palestinian death. Only difference is that it's there families that have to live with it.

45. Lexa #44 What is wrong with peace?
The problem is the 'peace' of the Islamist-Jihadists is more rocket attacks on Israel. Their 'peace' is the destruction of Israel as their Charter, School Text Books and Maps clearly show. They do this by way of terrorism, Taqiyyah (deception)-deceiving and brainwashing the world claiming that the historic Land of Israel belongs to them, manipulations and pressures, open conflicts like their unrelenting rocket attacks on Israel that spark wars, with the surrounding Islamist-Jihadist states crusading their Jihadism on Israel by way of funding and arming the Palestinian-Islamist-Jihadist thugs. The main problem, however, is Islam. As former Professor of Quranic Interpretations at Al Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, Omar Abdel Rahman, points out, "there is a whole surah [chapter] called 'Spoils of War.' There is no surah called 'Peace.' Jihad and killing are the head of Islam. If you take them out, you cut off the head of Islam." (p.24, "Islam and Terrorism" [2002] by Mark A. Gabriel, PhD) Former Professor of Islamic History at Al Azhar University, and former Imam of a Mosque in Cairo, Mark A. Gabriel (his new name after converting to Christianity), reveals Islam's ultimate goal on page 37 of his book, "Islam and Terrorism." He states that "Jihad is carried out in order to achieve the ultimate goal of Islam--to establish Islamic authority over the whole world. Islam is not just a religion; it is a government, too. That is why it always gets down to politics. Islam teaches that Allah is the only authority; therefore, political systems must be based on Allah's teaching and nothing else." Israel is in the frontline of the crusaders of Islamist Jihadism. The 'peace' of the Islamist-Jihadists is to continue crusading their Jihadism on Israel till they have subdued and dominated Israel. Now, they use deceptions and manipulations in getting other countries like the EU and the Obama administration to help them usurp Israel's liberated historic homeland of Judea and Samaria. Israel should say NO to these dark forces. Israel must remain resolute and strong in confronting these external challenges to its national security interests, survival and existence. Modern Israel is in their Ancient Land of Israel. Nor mortals should dare tamper with GOD's Restoration of Modern Israel in their Ancient Land of Israel.

Peace os fine but peace cannot come at any price. The price the palestinians want is to high and there is no garuntee that 2 states will lead to real peace. What happens if we give them certain areas of the Jordan Valley where Tel Aviv & Ben Gurion Airport are in range. Just one RPG fired at a plane coming in or talking off from the airport will be the death of Israels tourist trade. Foreign airlines won't fly there and even if ELAL does tourists will say I will go on vacation somehwhere where I know I will be returning from alive. Hit Tel Aviv with a rocket and some of Israels most valuable properties will find overnight that they are considered undesirable areas to live. What can Israel do other than moan to the palestinians to do something. The alternative is go to war and permanently occupy parts of the palestinian state. There is to much emotional attachment to Jerusalem, divide it and the city will become the holy land of terror and smuggling or it will mean big walls all over the place to stop smuggling which will make life miserable for its residents and it will destroy investment in the city Even without the walls it will hurt investment and make life harder for the residents. The biggest loosers when it comes to dividing Jerusalem comes to the people who live there to everybody else its a political prize. Some settlements can't be removed because of reality on the ground and its also a fact the settlers and their supporters have what it takes to bring down a government. Which government is going to take them on in the name of peace making if they know they could find themselves out of a job as a result. The Golan its to valuable in military terms, a large percentage of Kineret water flows from the Golan and that water would end up in Syrian hands. There is millions of dollars in business which would be lost. We would have to remove then pull out of thin air jobs and homes for 30,000 jews and probably a similar number of druze who prefer to take out Israeli citizenship than live under Syrian law. The financial cost of leaving the Golan alone would cost the country many many billions and thats just the intial cost it will cost billions more in unemployment and lost trade. Assad plans to move up to 1 million syrians to the Golan we risk creating a Gaza on whats currently Israels most peaceful border and as Syria is no threat why give it all up for the sake of a treaty. If it aint broke don't fix it This peace process with or without loss of the Golan is going to take us into a depression.

48. An Imposed solution, will will ultimately be the solution
It's plain to see the two sides left to their own to work this out will never happen, the only way that this will ever be resolved is for solution to be imposed on both sides. Or Israel needs to be offered something of great value, a hard asset not a vague promise of peace, something like rebuilding the Temple. Short of that, a solution must be imposed on the two sides.
Bill Staar ,   Chicago USA   (06.08.09)
49. #45 & #47
Unfortunately, these are the same type of grid-lock responses that fuel more instability, more bloodshed, and takes the whole process further and further away from any peaceful solution. And going as far as saying a religion like "Islam" is "the dark force". It's funny, in the U.S., we practice tolerance and understanding and we never got that perspective from Israelis. I hope you're the only one because if you represent the pulse of the street.. that might explain a lot. As far as violence on both sides, obviously that increases if there isn't any communication, and it has always decreased when talks where present. Hopefully, one day everyone will find peace. It's a shame that it feels like the U.S. has to act like a parent sending two children to their corner in order to get anything resolved.

50. Arab/Israeli conflict
Israel will not be forced into freezing settlement, if the Palestinians do not recognize Israel's God given sovreign right to exist. Israel is a sovereign state which has existed for thousands of years, and has every right to ensure the security of her state. Prior to Israel's departure from Gaza, the Palestinians agreed to committed themselves to leaving Israel in peace for further peace talks to take place. The Palestinians failled to honour this commitment, so why should Israel honour her commitments? Israel is committed to a two state solution. America knows this. It is the Palestinian's, and their aim to destroy Israel, that obstructs the path to peace.

51. Do some research...
and find out how much money the Saudi Royals have pumped into the pockets and businesses of the Bush family. Once you do that, you can think about why he didn't bomb Saudi. Also, you're just shouting the same blind hatred that the terrorists did which led to 9/11
