Their pathetic excuse that Israel is a threat is rubbish! I just hope that that they dont kill Hariri like his father! I also hope the coward Sionara gets tried for treason!
3. No Reason To Rejoice !
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem - ISRAEL   (06.08.09)
The recent parliamentary elections in Lebanon have not elicited landslide victories or defeats.The"14 March" bloc won roughly 55% of the parliament seats while HIZBULLAH bloc won roughly 44% of the seats... Consequently, according to data HIZBULLAH has not gained more nor has it lost more.It still remains a piece of broken glass in the throat of the western-backed political party... HIZBULLAH is still firmly maintaining its troublesome and annoying foothold... !
4. Lebanon and the Hizbullah.
Dave Ronen ,   Haifa   (06.08.09)
The Lebanese state cannot live side by side with a Hizbullah state. This theorem is becoming more evident by the day, as the party’s actions in the past three years have been, by definition, directed against the state, the government, the army and the security forces, institutions of national representation, the economy, and more fundamentally the rules of the Lebanese communal game. We’ve reached the point where Hizbullah, and more importantly the Shiite community, must choose. Will it persist in favoring a Hizbullah-led parallel state that will surely continue to clash with the recognized state? Or will Shiites try to find a new arrangement with their countrymen that forces Hizbullah to surrender its weapons? More about Hizbullah at : http://xrl.us/bkivy

Whooooaaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaa whoaaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! Guess the Lebanese made it clear who they want and what they want - and it's not that bunch of brainless misfits.

Hizbulla are sick and dont care about who is the authority- they are power control sick and they will continue with their terror and criminal acts till someone decides to make a serious stop to their finances and activities. Also a good suggestion for the girls who posed front page and a little out of the muslem modesty-and womens' subservancy, they should hire bodyguards for them- they are in danger

The results of the election in Lebanon are meaningless,as long as the Iranian ayatolla,Ali Haminai, dictates the policy of Lebanon.
10. Nasrallah "unrest if try to disarm Hizbullah"
William ,   Israel   (06.08.09)
But I just thought you said you "accept the will of the people". The people of Lebanon apparently do not want an untamed militia, armed to the teeth and doing Iran's bidding, wandering around Lebanon. Listen to the will of the people of Lebanon, and disarm! Unless you plan to use the weapons of Lebanese citizens again.
11. #9 - Lebanese election results
William ,   Israel   (06.08.09)
"The results of the election in Lebanon are meaningless,as long as the Iranian ayatolla,Ali Haminai, dictates the policy of Lebanon. " Yet, if they won the election, they would tout it as "true democracy" and "the will of the people". Now they will simply act as a self-imposed "opposition" bent on bringing hell to the other parties in order to get their way. It's the same tactic used by Islamists when Hamas won the vote, despite the fact that Hamas did nothing it promised in order to get the vote in the first place. For Iran, this is failure #2 - first their darlings Hamas got their asses kicked (despite heavy Iran training) and now Hizbullah lost the majority vote. I predict Iran will go back to clandestine activities like bombing overseas Jewish installations, like attempting in Central Asia recently.
12. How can Israel help?
Akram ,   Beirut / Paris   (06.08.09)
The only remaining slogan for Hezbollah now is "liberating" what is left occupied by Israel (Chebaa farms). The Lebanese people did their best in voting against Hezbollah weapons. We cannot afford more than this, they are too strong to disarm. What can the Israeli government do now is to withdraw from the "tiny" Chebaa farms and leave no excuse to Hezbollah to complain about. If Israel intention is really honest, they can give back to Lebanon this tiny land and make the pro-western stronger and stronger. Israel is gaining nothing keeping this land under their authorities. WE WANT PEACE, NO MORE WARS.
13. Is the election victory short lived?
David S Rose ,   Mobile, Alabama, USA   (06.08.09)
I applaud the Lebanese people on their vote. I can only hope for peace and good fortune for the State of Lebanon. However, how long will it be before Syria and Iran overthrow the Lebanese Government? What excuse will the Hezbollah use for having a State within a State? Will this mean they will want to carve up Lebanon into 2 countries? What new stateless people will they claim to be?

as an israeli i agree with you. however, since this little land, sheba , is the only thorn hizbullah has against israel (this is an illusion of course. hizbullah could care less about sheba farms being in israeli hands. it used sheba farms as an excuse to continue the missile terror against israel). since the last thorn is sheba farms, israel must insist that in this deal of giving up this land portion, hizbullah dismantles all its militias and disarms. why would hix=zbullah not want to disarm after sheba farm is given back to lebanon???? right???? what else would they be resisting? let's give them sheba farms and see if they disarm. i doubt it. it's not in their agenda and you know it.
