32. Horses blown up to kill Israelis - media silent
Much of the problem is the coalition of Islamist radicals and Leftists and all that follows. Whether it be on the university campus, the trade unions or the media, all have become part of a machine that propagates a well financed pro Islamist PR campaign that continues to spread a mythical Palestinian narrative.
With media outlets like BBC that have publicly confessed to broadcasting slanted biased material about Israel, its hard to dispel years of misinformation that people now take as fact.
At the same time, students are inundated at universities by Leftist and Islamist student groups and their many academic supporters many of whom working in recently created Academic Departments financed by Saudi grant money. And its not unusual to have frequent lectures given by Israeli Leftist revisionist "historians" that have spun theories providing "evidence" to back up the concocted new history that the Arabs have invented about Palestinians. Everything from being the original Philistines living in a country called Palestine for centuries until the surviving European Jews with the guilt ridden western European supporters, helped them steal this land for themselves.
Its way too late to undo the layers and layers of myth that so many now assume is fact.
The bond between the Left and the Islamists must be broken. The Islamist lie must be shattered in full public view. The lie that the Arabs want peace and co existence must be shown to be nothing more then rhetoric. Remove the settlement red herring issue from the equation. Stop all construction. It will only be temporary anyway in my opinion since the Arabs will never accept any deal with Israel that actually ends the issue. And the Arab countries will not "normalize" relations with Jerusalem, and no agreement will ever be signed but when this happens it must be clear that it's never been about Israeli intransigence, but about the Islamist mindset that won't allow them to ever accept the infidel within the Umma. Its why they cannot even mouth the words that Israel is "the Jewish State" - its something they can never accept.
This is the only way decades of lies can be reversed.

35. To #23 LISA
Not true Lisa, the present is all about the past. people are fighting about which historical narrative is "true"
They argue about who was there on that land first.
They debate about whether there was a Holocaust or not
and whether there ever was a "Palestinian People" or are these "Palestinians" just Syrians using another name to forward an agenda
And believe it or not, many people including politicians are make anti Semitic statements or have anti semitic pre conceived notions that perhaps they think are harmless but are in fact very hurtful.
You say "there is little credibility and hope if a country is not able to solve internal problems." and so I assume you believe the same for the Palestinians who have half a population living in gaza and half on the west bank often killing each other.
Or is this statement only directed at Israel?
You say "Israelis insist they do it THEIR way because nobody else in the world has a clue? "
No Israelis insist they do it their way because its their people who will live or die by these decisions and that responsibility is no one's to have but the Israeli people most of whom are Jews and have learned not to make others responsible.
and you say "Of course you think Israel is perfect and all the other countries and people are NOT?
No that's what you say she says ... but its only your own projection of what you imagine.
I think you and many others are overly obsessed with us. When one of us makes a comment about this one or that one being anti Semitic and it strikes a nerve in you, I think its because you recognize yourself. I think you have pre conceived notions and those were formed in the past and you look only for the evidence that supports your pre conceived notions. That's why you are usually blind to what others do and only see what Israel does. Its why you ignore thousands of rockets fired at Israeli civilians but should the Israelis mount an operation to defend their citizens you're the first to cry foul.
If we could hold a mirror up so you could see yourselves, you'd understand why you hear so many of us call you Anti Semites. What else explains the obsession?

36. #35 GZLives
we are talking about Israel's image in the world- I am not a fan of your Foreign Minister- but I think this time he is seeing the problem.
You think the world is blind to what is going on in the Middle East?
See, you are doing it again. You are interpreting what is said- assuming my statement is anti-semitic.
We all know that certain politicians are anti-semites, so are many people- but the majority is NOT.
Most politicians and common people support Israel , we want the Jews to have a home land and live in peace, this is what I read in most European news TBs..
In Israel the papers are full of articles, almost exclusively about antisemitism. This is very jaded news casting- in my opinion.
I have to disappoint you: generally people are NOT obsessed with Israel- they want peace for all....
In my country the news is generally fair and unbiased. People sympathize with Israel. But it does not mean there is only news about Israel- there is news about the world.
There are many interviews with Israeli academics, scientist, public persons- and TBs about it- you would be surprised how little anti-Israeli sentiments are written.
People know about what happened in the past. They agree that it should never happen again..... now they want a peaceful solution to the Mid-East crisis.
The image of Israel is a modern country that has internal problems and weak leadership.
Is this anti-semitic?
Be honest!

39. Lieberman and Urine
Why does Israel have an image problem?
For starters, Aharoni's boss is an illegal squatter from the occupied West Bank who believes fascism is the way forward. The rest of the squatters are allowed to shoot Palestinians at point blank range without fear of persecution. And the IDF, blessed by their chief Rabbi and 'rightist' politicians serving in the Knesset, do not murder Palestinians for defensive reasons but rather out of religious conviction.
Yes, Israel's image is certainly a problem. It's been urinating on the Palestinians and telling them that it's raining. The purpose of the "Brand Israel" campaign is simply to try and rebrand the urine along with the racists who administer it.

As a Jew living in the diaspora, I agree that Israel's public relations and marketing is its greatest flaw. Israel desperately needs to focus on its Perception Management.
