1. Yes, American could shoot down a korean missile but o-bum-a
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (06.09.09)
won't order that, it is against his policy of non-aggression to anyone but Israel. The talking tiger will not go to war with korea or iran, he must talk with them and get their agreement to be good little boys and girls. Israel on the other hand better stop all building in settlements or he will let the arabs start a war and it won't be his fault.
2. How boring! Can't they say something different?
Enzo ,   London, UK   (06.09.09)
3. sure thing
Marcel ,   Florida   (06.09.09)
How sure is Gates ? Ever since the arrogant empire ,the U.S.left Israel to twist in the Persian nuclear wind, the North Korean's have begun to send their own nuclear wind towards the U.S. THIS IS NO COINCIDENCE. Israel's God is going to payback the treacherous betrayer of Israel ,the U.S. twofold for it's phony peace scheme to wipe out Israel. The more the U.S. pushes to carve up Israel to the Islamic hordes ,the more the U.S is in dange of being cut to pieces. See Zechariah 12:3
4. Bunnie #1
(06.09.09)
you are right! Israel had better stop building all new and "natural growth" settlements and expansions, and concentrate on rebuilding Gaza! Your "people" won't allow any building matarials into Gaza, so go in there and do it yourself you "humanitarians"!
5. Why bother
steve from raleigh   (06.09.09)
No one has any intention of doing anything about the DPRK at any time.
6. To: No. 4
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (06.09.09)
Oh, we will rebuild Gaza. Just as soon as we throw your dirty terrorist asses the hell out of OUR TERRITORY, we shall assuredly rebuild Gaza. You animals, on the other hand --- all you know how to do is destroy. You have never built anything in your lives, and there is no expectation that you ever will. Start packing; you're not long for Medinat Israel.
7. Are you suggesting?
Ypip ,   Canada   (06.09.09)
I'd need over half-dozen rum and cocho's before even contemplating the significance of the distributor cap in the first place. The fish was good though Sarah. Thanks.
8. Talkback #4 (No name or residence given):
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (06.09.09)
You mean we are responsible for "rebuilding" Gaza after having eight years of missiles launched at us, even during a ceasefire? We are not the Jews of pre WWII Europe, Bud. We fight and we'll do whatever is necessary to survive. That's bottom-line. As to allowing cement and steel into Gaza, yes, once we gain assurances that Hamas is ready to allow us to live in peace, i.e., no more suicide bombers, no more attacks at the power station and no more missile launches. Remember, the filthy dirty disease infested sewage system in Gaza was caused by Hamas militants themselves because they pulled out the steel tubes to use for their missiles, simply abrogating any positive social function for their constituents. And who supplied Gaza with the steel tubing? Israel, of course. Like a Hamas minister said, (depicted and heard on U-Tube): "We Palestinians love death the way Israelis love life." So let's see, Bud, we Israelis are not in the habit, as history has borne out, of our going to our demise easily. You don't like it? We don't care. We're not trying to appease Israeli bashers nor anti-semites.
9. # 3 Marcel : then they will look on Me whom they pierced.
Sangeeth   (06.09.09)
And the land shall mourn, every family by itself: the family of the house of David by itself. Zechariah 12: 10-14. So who is that who got pierced? Do you know?
10. 5,000 dollars cost to ship bigger bomb
why use missile ? ,   ship container easy   (06.09.09)
shielded with lead and cant be detected by american instruments because its already been tested by news media giants trying to see how well the usa feds detection systems work-total failures. sending several containers to different usa ports set to arrive same time and gps activated its game over.
11. you "CAN" do it, doesn't mean you "CAN" do it Everytime!
David P. ,   Capitola, CA   (06.09.09)
....and the degree of fallibility?
12. "High probability?"
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (06.09.09)
"Gates told US lawmakers at a hearing Tuesday that the US would have a "high probability of being able to defend ourselves" if the North fired a long-range missile." That's not very comforting. I'd be much, much happier with "absolute certainty."
13. Bla, bla bla, the last days of an empire
Ignacio ,   Washington, EEUU   (06.10.09)
All discourse, no action at all. North Korea is kicking America's ass every day, America just can talk. Maybe it's time to send Obama to give another speech, until they have no effect at all, as it's happening already.
14. talk, talk, talk
Ray ,   San Diego CA USA   (06.10.09)
Just do it, prferbly over north Korea.
15. If North Korea refuses to stop its nuclear program
Steve   (06.10.09)
Barack Obama will ('gasp') CONSIDER calling a meeting of American officials, where they will decide to discuss the possibility of asking the UN to discuss the possibility of sending a mildly threatening letter to the North Korean Government.
