1. Peace
Dan Goldberg   (06.13.09)
I am 79 years old and have been a zionist all my life. I am very troubled with the militancy and the racism apparent in the country today. This is not the Israel I imagined when I was young and I am deeply ashamed.
2. Main points of my speech
Bibi ,   Jerusalem   (06.13.09)
A Palestinian state is not just a question of Not In My Backyard. Forget that I ever said when I was last Prime Minister that the Greater Land of Israel is dead. Peace is too costly - for my political survival. So in my speech I'm going to do the thing I do best, come out with words that sound convincing but mean little. The last thing I will sign up to is agreement for a Palestinian state. I'm ready to 'start negotiations with the Palestinians', knowing that they are unable to present a united front - which we have contributed to and intend to maintain - and knowing that we can't reach a Final Status Agreement until they are united. And even if they were, I'd still obfuscate. This is the key to my political survival. Settlement freezes? Who needs them? Lifting our stranglehold on Gaza - what for? It’s our way of strangling Hamas isn't it? Lifting our control on the W. Bank? Ridiculous. The status quo is me and I am the status quo.
3. dear writer
Dee ,   haifa   (06.13.09)
you are either a settler or a great supporter of the settlers , that does not want peace , not now and not ever ..... i hope your wishes will not come true..
4. Wrong about Obama
Edan ,   Tel Aviv   (06.13.09)
You write that Obama speaks as if he were still a candidate and that he is all style and no substance. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. In his 150 or so days in office he has already done what Bush didnt do in 8 years. Closing Gauntanomo, passing the economic bill, passing the stem cell bill, appointing a supreme court nominee...etc. If you really knew anything about American politics you would know that Obama is a president of action, not only words. Bibi, on the other hand, is just the opposite. Can speak very eloquently but prefers to stall at every opportunity regarding peace talks.
5. To Bibi Nothingyahu
Hugo First ,   Safed Israel   (06.13.09)
Yours not to reason why, yours not to make reply, yours just to do and die and do what your Master Obama tells you .Remember your place.
6. Dan Goldberg?aka machmud.
Jennie ,   USA   (06.13.09)
#1...This diatrab couldn't be written by a civilized human being..If you would be a Zionist, you couldn't soil this board with the crap about IDF..Should IDF be a bunch of scouts, who go camping and sing kumbaya? Who are trying to full, little fart ??
7. To BIBI
Jennie ,   USA   (06.13.09)
Just as obama used the key word "change" to pursue his agenda of changing America to a liberal appeasing country to terrorists of the world, you have a responsibility to show the other kind of change in Israel's attitude and act as a person in charge of ISrael's quest for peace, security and safety as a Jewish State. Remember all the withdrawals from ISrael's sacred land, which has never brought peace, but only more acts of war. The little sliver of a country in the ocean of the arab countries could obviously not be a real reason the palis don't want to recognize the right of Israel to exits, just as another withdrawal obviously will not bring peace....Simply because the palis never wanted peace, just as they never wanted ISrael-period...Why should you even consider the negotiations with palis, who still didn't recognize the right of ISrael to exist as a Jewish State. Giving up Land for peace has always brought Israel closer to innihilation. We all know that. So this time you must try something new - be firm, use historical facts of the last 62 years of Israels history. The West Bank is the ancient Jewish land, purchased of which by our ancestors way before arabs time is well documented. This makes Israel the wolds most legitimate owner of the land we are claiming. Of course you know by now, that OBama and his administration are planning to sacrifice ISrael to appease the Arab world and IRan.Mr. Obama can only sound pro-Israel when he is visiting Death camps, where he is honoring dead JEws and giving meaningless speaches....Your strenghts, currage and honesty in doing the right thing, will be greatly rewarded...It will inspire a huge support of ISrael from all around the world. It will restore the confidence and pride for the Israeli people and to the World's Jewry and inspire the young generations to follow their elders and reinstate their ideals.... YASHER LECHA CHOACH, BIBI !
8. So I am NOT laughing here
Gideon Reader   (06.13.09)
Gottenu! Here we all sit with that ignorant, arrogant and grossly incompetent community organizer at the helm of the ship of stateS, giving his trademark "elect me" smile and calling for more speed as he heads for several huge icebergs, aided and abbeted by his enablers in political abuse of Israel and America. So drink up and lets have one for my baby and one more for the road before this idiot minus the savant gets us all bankrupted and then killed.
9. Bibi is now the leader of the free world
Mladen Andrijasevic ,   Be'er Sheva , Israel   (06.13.09)
Let’s face it. By appeasing the totalitarian Muslims and North Koreans the US president has abdicated his leadership of the free world. This leadership has by default shifted to the leaders of the country that has been reluctantly pushed into defending herself and everyone else- Israel. As the leader of the free world Bibi should set the policies, not follow Obama’s pipe dreams.
10. BIBI KEEP IT SHORT AND SWEET
Hugh Cares ,   Safed Israel   (06.13.09)
Just tell them to Piss Off.
11. Vision points only "after" all hate actions stop
Ora ,   Canada   (06.13.09)
In a piece in the Washington Times they leaked what the speech will consist of http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/jun/12/exclusive-israel-sets-conditions-for-palestinian-s/?feat=article_top10_shared My advice to Bibi is that he say that such a vision is "possible only after all acts of hostilities stop for at least 2 years, with all Pal groups and Arabs within Israel and outside Israel, worldwide: no killings, no terrorism, not by any group or individuals, and "after" all Arabs change their culture and education drastically and speak of Israel in terms of peace, including the Madrassas and media
12. Dangerous precedent
Sidney ,   USA   (06.13.09)
If Netanyahu gives in on settlements or two states, it will bring on more demands on Israel. Once you give in, you encourage the other side, the old "slippery slope". Israel is a sovereign state, not a vassal state. Its government must do what is best for its people. Obama is not a prophet of God.
13. Bibi Tell Then To Publish in ALL Arab media
GZLives   (06.13.09)
on the same day ... this: WE OF THE ARAB AND MUSLIM WORLD ALL ACCEPT AND RECOGNIZE THAT ISRAEL THE STATE OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE That ought to end the charade
14. By George you've got it.
Gideon Reader   (06.13.09)
Mladen, I never thought of it that way, but you are sadly absolutely correct. ZerObama's total abdication of any real leadership(none shown and prospects for the future even less)of the "free world" remnant. It just may be Israel showing some leadership and standing as the moral beacon for what is right and what is startlingly wrong. So much for Affirmative Action selections for high political office. Sheesh. Extra points for mixing of ethnic & racial components, voting present, and organizing within racially separated communities, with the help of anti-semites, racists, criminals and leftist ideologues. This is going to be a loooong four years, with some rather nasty times ahead as the ship steams towards the rocks and shoals minus it's rudder and with an ignorant, arrogant and incompetent alleged skipper.
15. # 4 Edan
Keith ,   USA   (06.13.09)
1. Obama has NOT closed Gtmo ! 2. If Bush did not appoint a Supreme Court nominee it is due only to the fact no opening to the Supreme Court was available. 3 Bush began the bailouts throwing money at Banks and financial institutions which Obama continues. 4. What has Obama done to stop nukes from North Korea and Iran other than talk. Your fatuous erroneous points are all factually incorrect. Also, you do not seem to understand the US system of government
16. The speech is available ...
redbourn ,   tel aviv   (06.13.09)
so why not just read it? http://tinyurl.com/natanyahu2009speech It was released to the press yesterday. Mike
17. #4 - Gauntanomo is not closed
redbourn ,   tel aviv   (06.13.09)
and won't be for at least a year, and Obama is now looking for wriggle room to keep it open. Fifty-three percent (53%) of Americans believe that increases in government spending are bad for the economy and 45% say that the rest of the stimulus spending should be canceled. He has buried the US economy so deeply in debt that it's not clear how it will ever get free from it again, and whether it's simply bad policy or intentional, it's hard to say at this point. He is moving quickly but that doesn't mean that he's moving correctly. Right now both N. Korea and Iran see him as a pushover, and every other rogue state is eying his seeming impotency with glee. I don't know if they'll be proved correct or not, but we shall soon find out. Mike
18. International Law is on our side !!!
FO ,   Belgium   (06.13.09)
Bibi have the courage to shout to the whole world and to your leftist opponents in the country, that International Law is with us, and only with us. The League of Nations under the impulse of the US President Woodrow Wilson gave us the 24th of July 1922 the IRREVOCABLE RIGHT to settle anywhere in the area between the Mediterranean sea and the Jordan River including the Golan Heights, a right unaltered in International Law and valid to this day, due to Article 80 of the UN Charter. Impossible that President Obama doesn't know thie too. So Bibi, go head and CLAIM our RIGHTS.
19. #9 - WaaaaaaW WHAT A LEADER !!! lol
(06.13.09)
leader my arss !
20. Obama has made many descions.
jv ,   LA, USA   (06.13.09)
Most have had to be reversed because the consequences were not well thought out. In fact, Obama has pretty much returned to Bush policies. Israel: Obama's days are numbered.
21. JFK & Obama
jv ,   LA, USA   (06.13.09)
"You enjoy immense popularity, probably the kind that only President Kennedy boasted." Right. Immense popularity but lousy president(s).
22. #4 try facts, eh?
ben Ish   (06.13.09)
Already done what Bush didn't do in 8 years. Let's review shall we? - Guantanamo is NOT closed, it is being relocated. To US prisons. Big improvement? NOT. - Economics bill Explain one time in the history of the world where ANY government taxed and spent it's way back into prosperity. Just one. It is mathematically impossible, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist figure out. Nevermind that when you take $100 value, and then double the amount of currency, then the currency value is automatically halved. That's not an opinion or extraction, that is mathematically inescapable. - Stem cell “bill.” Wrong again. He signed an executive order to facilitate funding. The bill itself was killed (twice) and the house still needs to come up with a new one - Appointing a supreme court nominee is an “accomplishment?” So, GWB did not nominate Samuel Alito or John Roberts? Hmm... And what kind of moron calls a nomination an “accomplishment” anyway? Ludicrous. Obama was handed a sheet of paper with a short list of suggested names. He picked one. Poorly. The one he picked is a racist who claims to be a better judge than a white male, simply because she is a female Latino, with a fabricated “disadvantaged background”. Secondly, after earning nearly $200k a year for nearly 25 years, this woman has amassed a fortune of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. What kind of judgment does this woman have? She has earned more than $5 million dollars in her career, and has a paltry $1,000 left. “Prudent” is obviously not in her vocabulary. Another prudent move would be an apology or retraction of her racist comments, (more than one) but she hasn't done that either. The only “accomplishment” I see here, is absolute derailment of common sense on an epic scale.
23. Dear Dee what is peace?
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (06.13.09)
The word peace has been the greatest weapon of the left for eight decades, it is something that no one can be against, so as long as that word is what you use to describe your goal, you can do whatever you want. But allow me to ask, what precisely is this peace that you want and the author doesn't. Is it a peace of paper that says the arabs won't kill us with Arab leaders' signatures on the bottom? We've had plenty of those. The first was signed in 1920 by King Faisal, the leader of the Arab revolt against the ottomans and the only Sovereign Arab leader at the time; it's called the Faisal-Weitzeman Agreement and I suggest you google it. Within a decade Faisal had reneged on all the promises made in that treaty and the Jews of Palestine were being massacred (google the Hebron masscres of 1929). The last such agreement was the cease-fire signed with Hamas last year; it was broken within three days. The same has been true of all the agreements we have signed with the Arabs in the intervening ninety years, except the peace agreements with Jordan and Egypt, but those have not stopped men and weaposn from moving from those countries into the Territories to attack Israelis. Alternatively, maybe you have a more substantial definiton of peace in which our neighbors actually stop wanting to kill us. In that case let me ask you why you think that giving them the land they asked for will make htat happen? The Palestinians the obefore nineteen yead other Arabs were waging war against Israel for 19 years before the occupation began, why then would ending the occupation end the war? The Arabs have been killing us for eighty years, since before the sate of Israel was even created, so obviously land is not the issue here. They have also killed countless of those among their own number who have souhgt to help us achieve peace, from the sheiks of Galillee asassinated by the Muslim Brotherhood for supporting the zionists, the fifteen year-old Palestinian boy murdered two days ago by his own relatives for collaborating with the IDF. Why then do you think that this hatred, which has crossed religious and national lines and persisted unabated through eighty years of back-and-forth land transfers will suddenly stop just because we change our borders to what they were forty-two years ago, on the eve, I might add, of a planned "war of annihilation" against us (the term in quatations is taken out of a speech by Egypt's leader Nasser a couple of weeks before the war began)
24. Golden Opportunity
Asher ( truth hurts) ,   Jerusalem   (06.13.09)
Mr Netanyahu, you have a golden opportunity to Sanctify God's Name in you speech tomorrow. Be a Proud JEW and make everyone Happy.
25. Dear Mr. Prime Minister,
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (06.13.09)
The less you say, the better. Thank you. That is all.
26. Dont expect much from Bibi's speach tomorrow
Nader ,   Ramallah   (06.13.09)
I think everybody in the region if not in the world is waiting to hear Bibi's speach tomorrow but the fact is Bibi doesnt set the policy of Israel, let us remember here that the decision making process is made by a group of key polititians and the zionist louby in America, I can tell everyone whats going to be in Natanyaho speach tomorrow: 1. Security for Israel 2. Economy for Palestinians 3. Israel has no intention to rule other people 4. We need the Palestinians to admit Israel as a jewish state 5. We will not block the natuaral growth of settlements 6. We will remove the illegal outposts !! As if there is a legal settlement and there are others that are illigal - BS So, lets coold down chaps, nothing dramatic here...
27. Bibi to add Negotiating with Enemies Not Embracing them
Ora ,   Canada   (06.13.09)
Already a great deal of prominent reporters in the U.S. are lambasting Obama for allying himself with enemies and rejecting its one true friend, Israel, saying he is putting the U.S. in greater danger. I also believe that the overwhelming support the Europeans have now given to conservative parties are a clear indication that they are fed up with their governments' kowtowing to, and embracing, all those extremists and extremist countries. Bibi must bring up this point too: One cannot embrace "to one's bosom" people determined on annihilating you, and that, even in the "best" of Arab and Moslem countries, the so-called "moderates" are not really moderates or peace-loving by any means. He can give as example Hariri's embracing of Hizbullah despite the results of Lebanon's election, and the two extremist choices Iranians had to contend with, pointing out the violence following the elections in Iran, who really controls what happens, and that in all those countries matters can change any minute to extreme violence and jihad, directed not only inwardly but outward.
28. To all my fans
Edan ,   Tel Aviv   (06.13.09)
Ok so Gauntanamo is not closed yet, but it is well on its way. The stem cell bill wasnt passed yet but the legislation was brought forth and it will be passed soon. Appointing a judge who doesn't fit the stereotype white-anglo saxon, is also definitely to his credit. The point is, while George W. went on vacations, Obama travels the world to improve the US image abroad and is constantly looking to introduce new legislation and policy into the US government. And yes, I believe that ultimately the stimulus plan will work. I don't know the details of it and I'm no economist, but I know that he has people who have a lot more knowledge on the subject than you or me, working on those things. You can try your right-wing scare tactics by calling him "socialist" all you want, but the truth is he is not a puppet of big business lobbyists like your Republican heroes. Go listen to some Rush Limbaugh to sooth your soul....lololol
29. Palestinians must use money for people, not weapons
Ora ,   Canada   (06.14.09)
It would be good if Bibi draws attention to the fact that, instead of aiding their people and economy, the Palestinians use international aid money, which seems limitless, to continuously buy weapons and train extremists, which is also the case with all other Muslim insurgents
30. GREAT Article!
Pastor Leo Giovinett ,   San Diego USA   (06.14.09)
One of the Greatness articles I've read so far! Hanoch Daum has said it loud and clear; Israel elected PM Netanyahu for Israel's best interest and to lead Israel... not to follow the downward spiral of America. I love my country but I grieve over the path she is on! Please Mr. Prime Minister Trust G-d Toda Le El! Pastor Leo
