1. Most of these people
To be frank, I find most of these people rather strange. Their belief that judaism is passed by "blood", and the fact that they feel or know that they have jewish ancessors several generations ago makes them feel jewish. They ain't jewish. Judaism is much more than blood relation, it is philosophy, lifestye and most important jewish education. The blood relation doesn't pay much of a role. Yet it is comforting to know that Israel has its funs in Spain despite pressure from Spanish media and the hatered from the numerous muslim community. I wish them well.

3. Operation Cast Lead
Apparently, this has now become the justification for every act of racism on the European continent, be it from Muslim fanatics or homegrown skinheads. The Europeans had better face the fact that what the IDF was forced to do in Gaza has nothing to do with anti-Semitism because their countries have never been free of it, it's only that the source of much of it has changed.

5. I am just curious, how did they find out
they have jewish roots, I bet they got very interesting stories. someone told me there r hight chances Cristopher Columbus was a converted jew and that's the reason the king send him to the unknown(as a sucide mission), to get ride of him in a very legit way, there r many evidences that show how the jews on his boats celebrated Hanuka.

7. #1 You Are Wrong, By Jewish Law
A Jew's descent is from the mother and if the bloodline can be proved then the person is a Jew. Conversions are not germane under Jewish law. If you convert you are still a Jew. There are other rules in addition for large groups of people and you can bet that Michael Freund has availed himself of rabbinical knowledge and rulings at the highest level in Israel regarding the anousim, as he has done over time with other groups through Shavei Israel. All you are doing is exposing your ignorance, as there are Jewish rules for those who for example were raised as nonJews (let's say they were captured and enslaved) going back for thousands of years. That is one of the beauties of Judaism, that we take care of and keep close our own, and re-educate them, even if it takes a very long time. You need to take another closer look at Judaism and the stages that people can be in toward acceptance and acknowledgment of being Jewish.

9. Welcome back!
It seems thatpeople who have lived their lives as Catholics recognise very acutely the antisemitism that exists in their homeland. Jews the world over live with this fact on a day to day basis. Why should the "returning jews" allow it to effect their lives so? I dont think a Muslim will declare a Fatwah on some one just because they are a Jew or reconvert to Judaism. Anyway, is sSpain not a democratic state bound by the laws of civilisation? Why are the issuers of anti-semetic Fatwahs not arrested and persecuted according to these laws? perhaps its the integral abnti-semitism of a Catholic state that prevents this.

10. "The new anti-Semitism is anti-Israelism"
The wild riots in Spain against Israel during Cast Lead, as well as their judge's decision to prosecute Israeli officials for 'war crimes' prove this point very well.

15. Columbus' first letter was to Luis de Santangel
not to Ferdinand and Isabella, about the discovery of America. Luis de Santangel was a converso (baptized Jew) who served as treasurer in the royal court of Spain. He had lost relatives in the Inquistion.
Ferdinand and Isabella would not support Columbus' voyage, and it was only thanks to Santangel's intervention and financial contribution that the voyage was at all possible.
There were at least three Marranos (baptized Jews) on Columbus' ships that went to the New World: Luis de Torres on the Santa Maria, Juan de Cabrera on La Pinta, and Rodrigo de Triana on La Nina.
It is no accident that Columbus set sail for the New World the day after the edict of expulsion of the Jews from Spain by Ferdinand and Isabella.

16. Jews everywhere should have the RIGHT to...
...walk and be without being threatened by racists and bloodthirsty Muslims.
There is NO REASON why Muslims can walk on the streets of Madrid, Paris, London and Bruxelles wearing their Burkah, Keffieh etc. with IMPUNITY and trying to IMPOSE their way of life on the Spaniards, French, Brits and Flamands, while Jews who have INTEGRATED into the respective societies, are afraid for their life that they will be attacked, terrorized and brutalized by the same racist Muslims or by the local RACIST Leftists and Anarchists.
Maybe a bit of "Jewish self defense" will remind everybody that YES WE CAN take care of ourselves and our own and that we cannot be attacked without repercusions.
Food for thought for the Mossad and other Jewish self-defense agencies.

you see, you just do not understand. being jewish is a feeling, an internal feeling that no one caqn understand but jews themselves. judaism is like genetic. it stays with you no matter what. you just know, that is all. it is a sense inside oneself that you belong to the tribe, to the family, to the people. these maranos never got rid of that feelings and no matter how many generations past, they still secretly celebrated many of the jewish customs from generation to generation, still had jewish feelings, still didn;t really feel catholics and still knew deep inside their roots and convictions. if you are not a jew, you can never understand this feeling. it's almost like self preservation.

21. #11 Frank- Lisbon- Spain?
Frank, Lisbon is in Portugal not Spain-
I guess to you they all look the same?

22. #10 wild riots?
Tahl- wild riots? Nobody was throwing dirty diapers and burning garbage cans, you know.
They are called demonstrations- not riots. They were organized by Palestinians and Muslims in sympathy to the Palestinians- so don't just throw everybody in the same pot- .
You cannot prohibit a demonstration or gathering in a democracy as long as there are no disturbances- then the police steps in- they did.
I live here now- and I followed the events- and the TBs on it - so I might have a better perspective than your average TB writer.
re judges: one judge- he has been told by the government to cool it- . The same judge also has accepted lawsuits against many other people, he does not seem very selective in his choice-
So, I think you are wrong to accuse something like 50 million people of anti-semitism- they did not live during the Inquisition, they did not take part in the demonstrations.
What exactly do you except people to do?

thank you very much. it is nothing but the truth and anyone who is not jewish and has never been born so will never be able to experience this special bond, this special feeling, this special connection that for 5,000 years refuses to die. in our land, the land of israel, the land of the jews. this is where we began and every other religion that followed borrowed from us, the jews no matter how much they tried to persecute, revionize history or eliminate the feelings we have that FOREVER REFUSE TO DIE! we are the longest living people, tribe, family. the longest living religion, philosophy and morality on earth. no one that tried to deny us this privilage of continuation has ever survived till today. look at rome, look at nazis, look at the inquizition, the expoltions and persecution, look at all others and now, islam, that wishes death upon jews.
we persevered. we fought. we never gave up. this is the true story of bravery of a people whose root ideology is based on respect for life, democracy, freedom and above all, the will to never give up.

All your descriptions of a Jew are very abstract. This is an example of western linear thinking.
#17 speaks of a Jew in concrete terms. Things you can feel and know in your nefesh. I believe this is the type of thinking found in a true Jew. This is why the western world goes astray in much of their interpretations of scriptures.

28. Please do not give up for all Goodness!
To the "lost" Jews in Spain and in elsewhere: The idendity of a Man is a right. The fear that leads to hide the oneself Jewsihness remains, unfortunately, a savage and inhuman fact of life. Indeed. However, please allow me, despite the fear to kindly accept my call to increase our faith in God --Who is Love, Peace and Creativity-- and to believe in only Goodness. Then, fear could be overcomed and soul could be lifted-up.
Please do not give up to bring all peoples round human values and Humanity. Please, let's all try to control our fear...keep raising our voice so we do not give up!
God's blessings:)
