Heather, I do live in North America. Every time I walk into my synagogue I have to be checked by security. Our Hebrew Day Schools here also have security. Our kids in public schools face the same thing your kids do in the US. But, when it comes to survival of Israel, and Jewish survival, at least you can contact your congressman, e-mail the president, e-mail Rahm Emanuel who quietly behind the scenes is doing what he can to get Netanyahu ousted. It sucks to be a Jew, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
