it wouldn't hurt to listen and think about it.... there are always two sides to a story. Just because he is called a 'muslim congressman' does not mean he is anti-Israel. 1) There is no equivalency between Gilad Shalit who was abducted and held without regard to Geneva Conventions or other humanitarian concerns and criminals and terrorists captured by Israel and jailed after proper legal proceedings. He deliberately blurs the lines here. 2) Rep Ellison actively opposed Operation Cast Lead while it was ongoing. What he says now are mere words with no backing. Again there is no equivalency between unprovoked and unrestrained (except by Israeli military action) rocket fire from Gaza and the Israeli military action which finally put a stop to most of it. 3) Hamas is an extremist, racist organization dedicated to a combination of religion and fascism. PERIOD. End of discussion. The United States of America has no business negotiating with an organization like that except to obtained its own limited interests (such as release of prisoners, etc). Hamas has no business at the Peace table. 4) The House resolutions supporting Israel should not have been combined with any other resolution. Again there is no moral, ethical, military, or political equivalency between the terrorist actions by Hamas and the Palestinians and the reactions by Israel.
