1. Don't whine! You voted for Bibi!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (07.02.09)
Those who are squealing about VAT increases, levying of VAT of fresh fruit and vegetables and the general "punish the poor and lower income groups" that Bibi is famous for should shut up! You voted for him. You believed him! You learned nothing from the previous Netanyahu Administration that we fought so hard to oust! You made your bed. Now lie in it!
2. Sales tax
Bret Allan ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (07.02.09)
This is a regressive tax that does not impact the rich; sales tax hurts the working poor and middle class. Already at a ridiculous 15.5% an increase of 1% is a lot of money for people who live just above the poverty line.

4. The knesset is our #1 enemy!

What gives them the right to tax us so much? Let them tax those in society that refuse to work. Let them go after the tax cheats. Let them stop letting companies buy luxury autos on our account. Stop alyah of the elderly and sick! Stop pensions to those that never worked here. Cut the size of all the government by half.
5. V.A.T.
marvls ,   nyc   (07.02.09)
The VAT is a regressive tax. It affects the people most who can least afford it - those low earners who spend the largest percentage of their income on necessities. And why increase it now -of all times - when things are tough economically? It will have a negative effect on the economy.
6. Finally, some good news
Billionaire Squire ,   Caesarea   (07.04.09)
This will increase our stronghold over the country! Sheeple - put your nose to the grindstone and work harder, you are lazy and shiftless! From now on, you shall gather your own fruits and vegetables!
7. VAT on bread, milk...
Adamush   (07.03.09)
What a horrendous tax on existance.
