Amnesty accuses Israel, Hamas of war crimes in Gaza offensive    Associated Press
1. These bimbos funded by arabs to the left of Karl Marx.
Anything the Jews do is bad, anything the terrorists do can't be proven. These liars teach advanced skills at the World's Biggest Liars Conference in iran.

2. yeah, yeah, yeah, take a number,
we got used to this by now, Israel is a lot of things, so what. been there and doen that, neeeeeext. he can't do nothing. UN is powerless much like before WW2. so big deal.
ghostq   (07.02.09)
3. Amnesty International is VERY WRONG
If one more kassam or terrorist act is even attempted against Israel, She will do whatever it takes to dissolve it! That's natural, Amnesty's 'report' isn't!
Ypip ,   Canada   (07.02.09)
4. Jousting with Windmills?
The nature of some cases of "assymetric warfare" , including this one, is that the true aim of the weaker side is to get international media attention. Amnesty needn't worry. Hamas will continue to provide them with material for their reports for some time to come, whether by their own actions, or the response that they try to provoke.
Aryeh Wetherhorn ,   Elazar, Israel   (07.02.09)
5. I Ignore Amnesty, Whoever They Are...
They are irrelevant.
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (07.02.09)
6. Excuse me, but I think that Amnesty Int'l
hasn't been *worried* for some time. I'd be interested to audit their expenses.
Ypip ,   Canada   (07.02.09)
7. Who Cares? What is more important is what Bibi's response
will be. It took 10,000 rockets and mortars over a period of 8 years to force Kadima's irresponsible Olmert & Tzipi to respond. Just like the 2000 Intifada resulted in Arik's election to PM, the rocketfire of Hamas along with the failure of Olmert and Livini demanded that Likud's Bibi be the PM. Furthermore, the dramatic drop in rocket attacks since Bibi became PM clearly demonstrates that HAMAS now fears what Bibi's response to rocket fire will be. Finally, the actual damage and impact must be normalized in the context of Hamas's equations of the value of life. Previous prisoner exchanges and now Shalit are based on Hamas' equation that one Israeli is worth 1500 or more Palestinians. HAMAS contends that all efforts must be focused on kidnapping more Israelis regardless of the cost to Palestinians. Therefore according to HAMAS' equations, they lost less than the value of one Israeli throughout the entire war while we lost more than a dozen soldiers which the article does not even mention assuming that Amnesty didn't even bother to mention this either. By HAMAS' equations we actually suffered greater casualties. But the real issues is whether HAMAS has learned its lesson. Will they dare resume the rocketfire that forced Israel's response. And if so, can they even imagine what the next war will be like with Bibi at the helm and no American or Israeli election to divert the focus from the central mission of FIGHTING TERROR.

8. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT ISRAEL MADE ITS FINAL MISTAKE ON GAZA
I TRY TO BE HONEST ALL THE TIME. I BELIEVE I AM. THE LAST GAZA ATTACK HURTED ME. IT HURTED MY HEART. IT HURTED MY SOUL. IT TORTURED MY EYES. IT DROVE ME INTO HELPLESSNESS IT DROVE ME INTO POVERTY whenever I remember it, I get sober from where I am. it wasnt just Israeli fault but hamas and the world. it wasnt just you but me and all others. we we just watched. we still dont admit we still dont admit that it is still bad. IT IS STILL HURTING

9. THE ACCUSATIONS OF SATAN !!!.
THOSE ACCUSATIONS WILL NEVER DIE OUT, UNTILL THE EVIL ONE IS EXPELLED FROM THE EARTH. THOSE ACCUSATIONS ALWAYS COME AGAINST PEOPLE OF GOD, WHEN THEY TRY THEIR BEST TO LIVE AND BEHAVE ACCORDING TO THEIR CONSCIENSE, IT IS ALWAYS LIKE THAT. Commenting on Amnesty's allegations, the Israeli military said it operated in accordance with international law. It said the report ignored "efforts made by the Israel Defence Forces to minimise, as much as possible, harm to non-combatants". "In many cases, the Israel Defence Forces exercised measures of caution, including warning the civilian population before an attack," the military said. "The Israel Defence Forces directed its attack only against military targets." HAMAS WHO STARTED THIS WAR ARE NOW THROUGH THEIR PM, IMAIL HANIYEH ACCUSING ISRAEL FOR THIS WAR. HOW DO ANYBODY THINK THAT DEALS CAN BE MADE WITH SUCH LIERS ???. GO TO HELL WITH THEM AND ORGANISATIONS WHO COME WITH ACCUSATIONS IN THE SAME DIRECTIONS. Orao.
ORAO STRANKA. ,   TSARIGRAD U SRBIA.   (07.02.09)
10. It seems all these organisations became political
and lost all relevancy. It is no surprise that they seek funding from Arab dictatorships.

11. WILL MAKE THEM HAPPY
This report will make our draft dodgers, anarchists, self haters, leftwing nut jobs and other haters of Israel very happy. Ynet who has been constantly publishing IDF bashing articles and is one of the leading sources of negative anti Israel media coverage, should be very pleased with itself. Most of the negative world attention starts in our own back yard at the hands of our previously mentioned moral elite. None of these people with their big mouths and wagging fingers, ever get their hands dirty, but he that is just a minor missing detail. With friends like this who needs enemies.

12. Amnisty
These people have gone over the edge. Moral equivalency is crap. Shoot at me and I will kill you. What is wrong with these people?

13. Thou Shall Not Murder
If the Ten Commandments are not obeyed, what does the keeping of the other laws of Moses amount to other than mere veritable mockery which treats God as a fool. Thus the words of Moses are fulfilled when he says [Deut. 32:21] that God will not regard them as his people, since they do not regard him as their God.
observer   (07.02.09)
14. what the report omits: there was no declaration of war
a formal declaration -- or an ultimatum indicating a formal declaration -- is necessary. Israel didn't declare war or gave ultimatum to, Israel says it was not conventional war; it was "operation" to escape the responsibility of war crimes, and that in itself is a violation of international law of war.

15. US in Afganistan
Why is it that Amnesty International does not compile a report on the atrocities comitted by Coalition forces in Iraq and Afganistan? The Russians slaughtered thousands in Checnya, Abkhazia and not a word.

19. maybe Amnesty should get an army and come defend Israel i
Anyone can talk and complain. Let them fight and do a better job. Maybve then they will have a right to talk like they are the experts.
Leon ,   Los Angeles, USA   (07.02.09)
20. So, where are the reports about war crimes in Iraq ......
Pakistan, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Georgia, China, Darfur, Congo, Zimbabwe, Myanmar and so many other places? No, it is always Israel that is singled out and this morning, while the BBC and France 24 at least had the decency to headline that Hamas was also accused of war crimes, SkyNews did not see fit to mention this on their ticker although they did screen Israeli Government Spokesperson, Mark Regev, replying to the accusations. The propaganda war against the Jewish People, it is no longer against Israel, is being financed by the Arabs who have recruited anti-Semites like Ken Livingston, George Galloway and others to champion their cause. The question is how do we counter this? When the BBC and SkyNews give Iran or China bad press, their journalists are thrown out. Israel is a democracy but here are still ways to ensure that we get a fair hearing. The answer is accreditation. If journalists from the BBC or SkyNews are refused entry to press conferences and have to get the news from others, this will certainly affect their standing in the journalistic world. All we want is the truth to be told. We do not expect pro-Israel bias but we do demand a stop to the blatant anti-Semitic attitudes be displayed by the foreign press. As for Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and other Arab sponsored groups, they have cast doubts on their objectivity over and over again. They are the like the little boy who cried “wolf” and one day they will report and no one will listen!

21. Amnesty = LEFT WING APPEASING TERRORIST ORGANIZATION!
When was the last time they visited Gilad Shalit?
and they agree.   (07.02.09)
22. Be 100 % with us, or be a biased, leftwing nut job
Judging by 90 % of the comments to Israeli newspaper articles, the following observation may be made: If you always and unconditionally support everything Israel do, including killing terrorists (ie. everybody else) and expropiating Judea, Samaria, Golan (preferably Gaza too) and trying to force all non-jews out; accept that Israel is God's chosen land for His chosen people (all the rest of humanity really doesn't matter); supports the notion that only Israeli security, freedom and well-being is of any importance. Well, then you're OK (although one of course can never be more than a gentile and second class human in the eyes of God). If you do not adhere to these principles 100 %, you're a biased, anti-semittic, left-wing nut job (and probably a terrorist, too).
Peter ,   Oslo   (07.02.09)
23. Why Amnesty loses credibility with these reports
"Amnesty report ... said that although rockets fired from the Gaza Strip rarely cause casualties but often sow fear and panic, their use was "indiscriminate and hence unlawful under international law". " Amnesty simply can't get it right. A rocket fired indiscriminately is a rocket fired indiscriminately. There is decades of proof in thousands of documented attacks that Palestinians purposefully attack unarmed Israeli citizens. And yet Amnesty rejects that and says "although rockets fired from the Gaza Strip rarely cause casualties " - the number of casualties has absolutely nothing to do with it. The bottom line is that for decades Palestinians have an explicit policy of attacking unarmed civilians, and Amnesty refuses to address that central and defining issue.
JPS ,   Efrat   (07.02.09)
24. #11 Bingo!
David, you hit the nail on the head... Instead of standing united against the enemy- the inside enemies are doing the job. Bad publicity by Israeli press, not supporting army and politicitans- a lethal combination. There are enough problems from the outside, but when the country is not united there is little hope. It is much easier to blame it on the international community than to clean up the internal mess- . TBs will now say nasty things about the entire world community- but the same people will also spew venom against their own people and the government.

25. THE UNILATERAL HUMAN RIGHTS REPORT
I agree thet Israel doesn't have to justify itself to something calling itself "HUMAN RIGHT". Whose rights are they really defending Arab rights only. Why isn't there an outcry to free or at least visit GILAD SHALIT . jUST Imagine any Arab being kept under thesame subhuman conditions the noise they would have raised the U.N. wiould have had to hold a special session, Mr Obama might have had to intervene. I suggest they call themselves"ARAB RIGHTS ONLY AND HAVE Mr. Peanuts,Jimmy WHO, be their devoted leader.!!!!? "

26. Zionist War Crimes ... A regular occurrence
From the slaughter at DIr Yassin to the Massacres at Sabra and Shatila.. Gaza joins a whole list of Zionist War Crimes It seems that the Victims of WW11 are just as ready to commit crimes themselves on their Palestinian Cousins no less... so what does this tell us of Zionism?

27. Hypocrazy to the core
More than 30000 Tamils were massacered in Sri Lanka by the Sri Lankan Army. Why didn't the world scream about it. This is pure antisemitism that the world is showing openly.

29. Show of hands for whoever is sick and tired of hearing this?
The only war crime around here was that Hamas was allowed to fire rockets into our country – UNPROVKED, day in and day out and got away with it for YEARS. No-one said anything, no-one did anything. They were warned continually. They didn’t heed the warning, so Gaza was bombed. A very legitimate response from a country that has to stomach so much crap, day in and day out. Payback was pure devastation – but they didn’t think it would be a tickle with a feather duster – did they?
Talula ,   Israel   (07.02.09)
30. We know Hamas cowards hid in tunnels
While Gaza civilians were NOT sheltered. That's how much Arabs love their children.
