1. Shame, shame, shame on the government and the apathetic
citizens who live in their comfortable world. This is plain meanness from the authorities and meanness from the "settler" haters. This is the reason the 2nd Temple fell and if changes are not made in the Israeli thinking it will happen again.

3. disgraceful
this is disgraceful
very bad planning-
empty promises
government incompetence
unworthy of Israel

4. criminal Israeli politicians
The criminal fools ,AKA Israeli Politicians, who traded beautiful Jewish homes and land and commerce for moslem rockets in return should be arrested and now living behind bars in concrete boxes.

6. Does anyone still believe the Minhelet Sela claims?
"All the trouble is because they did not cooperate."
"If they only worked with us, they would have had everything we promised."
Only it didn't quite work out that way, now did it? The state didn't have *anything* prepared, and everything was mismanaged - and said mismanagement hidden under political tomfoolery, with the media actively assisting in the show.

7. Thanks to Ariel Sharon - where is he now?
They should be given the best rooms in the best hotel in Jerusalem at government cost until they can get their own homes through the bureaucratic system.
Perhaps the government would have some motivation to move things on - i.e. cash!

8. COURTESY OF THE STATE
All we are to the state and its institutions are milk cows to pay for their lavish lifestyle. Like Ehud Barak who stayed at a hotel in Paris for only 20000 shekels a night at our expense. There is an old joke that goes as follows, one does not need sex, because one gets screwed daily by our government. Civil servants, although by now it is a totally ridiculous word, are today’s royals, who tax and rule its people with ruthless power, under the false impression of a democratic law based system. They keep on raising taxes and tell us stories of budget shortfalls, to bleed us dry. That the state does not give a toss about its citizens, we already know, that is why they can sit back and allow 8000 rockets to rain down on us for 8 years. But that they have the gall to do it in such a blatant scummy way, that is a new level of low. No wonder more and more people do not give a damn about the state and refuse to serve in the army or any other service for that matter.
This state has become a monster that eats its citizens and then spits them out, without any shame.

9. Journalism
Let's see some real investigative journalism. If these claims are as they are made to appear, it is despicable, If the claims are propaganda of the Jewish former residents of the Gaza Strip that has to be made clear as well.
|
|
10. Easy
Just move on a family per family basis an Arab family out of their home in Israel so that the Jewish evacuees can move in.
Let them go build a "Palestinian state" (!) in Gaza.
As salaam aleikum, fifth columnists. You are a cancer within the body politic of Israel. You will NOT be missed.

11. Never Again!
Next time the government suggests dislocating Jews I truly hope that the entire Jewish world stands up loudly and clearly AGAINST this awful act.
Not enough was done for these poor Jews and we each must look into ourselves and determine whether we did enough to prevent this tragedy. And we must vow to never again allow this to happen.

12. #10 Sarah
this is not the solution- it is just passing the buck, creating more bad feelings..
The government made them move-
it is just lousy and incompetent planning-
now years later people are still out on the street-
people were promised land, houses, help- where is it?
This is a broken promise- or two, or three....
If they can help immigrants - then surely they can help the citizens.

13. If all the Hebrews went back
to their ancestral homeland before Muhammad or Islam was born, this could not have happened. They should have occupied the land that God has given them[from Nile to Euphrates].The god of wealth of Europe had turn them away from the God of Israel.God told them not to intermarry, they disobeyed God.Now,who's reaping, their descendants. There is a Palestinian Covenant between God and the Jews or Hebrews:if you obey, you'll be blessed; if you disobey, you'll be punished.
|
|
14. Disgusting Government incompetence
It is unacceptable for the government to kick Jews out of their homes, hand the land over to Hamas, and then treat the evacuees this way.
This ineptitude on the government's part is a "f--- you" to all those who were kicked out of their homes. Its unacceptable.
If it was me in the situation, I'd be suing the government. This situation is absolutely ridiculous, and it is even worse than officials keep passing the buck to avoid dealing with the problem.

15. peace process will take the country into financal depressio
There were 8000 jews made homeless in Gaza and the initial evacuation alone cost over $1 billion and that doesn't include things like the unemployment money these people have been paid and all the other indirect cost.
The number of jews in Judea & Samaria numbers in the hundreds of thousands
Make them all homeless and your going to have to find housing for all those people very quickly which is easier said than done.
Your also going to have to try and pull hundreds of thousands of jobs out of thin air that along with the other costs then its going to cost the country many tens of billions BEFORE the indirect costs like unemployment.
Then there is the Golan which not only involves moving around 30,000 jews and trying to pull jobs and houses out of thin air for them but it will also involve relocation of army bases and early warning systems.
I hope all the peace process campaigners, especially those on low incomes are ready for the financial consequenses of the peace proces.
Don't count on coming out of recession anytime soon but do prepare for an 80s style depression.
If we are lucky we will get some loan garuntees from the US but the bills will all be paid by Israeli taxpayers.
This is going to be a very expensive peace process

16. Oye! Do you think UNWRA will give them refugee status & aid?
These people are ridiculous...they need to stop belly aching and get involved in positive action. Otherwise they are just imitating the Arab refugee problem and ultimately creating a bigger problem for the state!
Be responsible for yourselves and get a move on!
|
|
17. #16 anon- you again?
these people are ridiculous? You mean Jews deporting Jews is ridiculous?
They are homeless because an incompetent government didn't think beyond its nose....you start something- and you FINISH something- this is half-assed-
What are they supposed to do? Riot? Throw dirty diapers at the politicians?
Those people have a right- there land and homes were taken away- where are they supposed to go?
You are a very unkind and uncaring person-
and no this is not UNWRA's job- this is your ISRAEL's job.

18. Gaza was never Galilee
I do not understand this demand. You live where you can afford to buy and Gaza was cheaper, especially for the quality of homes, than most places in Israel. But how many choose to take up that offer.
They are not the only ones that cannot afford to buy in certain areas (and certain types of homes either) And just because they came from Gaza they want the goverement to fund their new homes even if is something that they themselves could never be able to afford.
You buy a house via downpayment and get a mortgage, do they have the salary to met the payments?
There are in Israel many who struggle and rent, and many who cannot afford to buy in certain areas. I do not think we should compensate as to the quality of life they had in Gaza, that quality of life may have been cheap in Gaza (minus the security costs) but it is not cheap in many places in Israel and many cannot afford it.

19. #17 how irresponsible of u!
Suggesting that these people continue to sponge off the State of Israel instead of growing up and taking responsibility for themselves!
How is it that all the other repatriated Jews have already settled down and this small irresponsible and very vocal group are still out there belly aching and begging for someone else to resolve their issues!
Get over yourself and be kinnd to these people go and volunteer to assist them in their repatriation process!
|
|
20. #19 irresponsible?
so let me get this straight:
the people were FORCED to leave their homes, property...
they have no place to stay- after how long? How much help and financial support did they get to recompense for their loss? Did anybody help them find housing, properties?
IF this had happened in another country to Jewish families- there would be a huge outcry in Israel about anti-semitism etc...
Can you say Israel did EVERYthing it could, to help those people settle down quickly and painlessly?
If YES- I apologize-
if NO- then you go and DO something, agreed?

21. Lisa girl get over urself & carefully read #18!
You are brainwashed and supporting a bunch of freeloaders!
|
|
22. #21 who is brainwashed?
so, tell me- what did the settlers do in Ghaza in the first place?
Is this Israeli land or Palestinian land?
IF it was not Israeli- what were they doing there?
if it was- why where they thrown out?
There seems to be widespread confusion over who belongs where- and you can't have it both ways.
For certain people the settlers are victims- for others they are freeloaders.
If Israelis are confused- how is the free world supposed to know or figure it out ?
|
|
23. They were forced out
Even those who left "voluntarely" . They were promised a compensation , but received nothing . It's not because their housing in Gaza was cheaper to buy than in other places , that they may not claim the same quality .
I'm not so "pro settler" , but the State has made promises , and has to fullfill them .
