Some towns are better off segregated but the arab do need to be encouraged to integrate more in the big cities like Tel Aviv where there is plenty of room and enough mixed cultures for everybody. Assuming we did give Assad the Golan & create a palestinian state the demands won't end there. Just watch the Galilee arabs see this as a symbol of hope and start pushing their own causes. Then the new palestinian state & Assad who has his eyes on trying to get the Galilee for himself eventually start supporting the Galilee arabs saying we support your cause fight for your rights. Then we will have the saudis step in ready to redraw the Middle East again and they will start pushing to take the Galilee out of Israeli hands because its mostly arabs living there and they want independence etc Then Europeans, Israels radical left & eventually the US get involved and say look this is about peace I am sorry Israel but its mainly arabs who live there & we belive that if its what the Galilee arabs themselves want then we really must take their side and demand you give them independence. If the saudi plan is adopted for the palestinains they will be called in to solve any problems Israel has with the arabs in future even Israeli arabs. Minister Atias is absolutely correct. Given current trends, there needs to be a massive influx of Jews to northern Israel. History has shown that wherever Muslims constitute a local majority in a non-muslim country, they begin to demand autonomy and independence. This has happened in the Phillipines, India, and in the former Yugoslavia to name a few. We hear calls from Muslims in Spain and France for autonomy in certain areas as well. When these muslims do not get what they demand they start to riot and perpetrate terrorism on the non Muslim population. Israel must find a way to ensure this does not happen in the Galilee. A good start would be a massive influx of Jews to this beautiful area of Israel.

One benefit of the north is that it has never had to deal with large pockets of Hareidim. Why intentionally develop their influence and turn a portion the Galil into another Kiriat Sefer? We need normal incentives to encourage Jews to move there. If these incentives appeal to Hareidim, so be it. But let's give all Jews an equal chance at the Galil.
