3. political archeology
The largest stone is said to measure 0.69 x 0.94 x 1.65 m. It has been suggested that these stones may have been used to build the Western Wall, but that is doubtful. The measurements given are of an unfinished stone. These quarry blocks needed trimming to make them suitable for building and that would make them smaller. The average height of the stone courses in the Temple Mount walls is 104-112 cm and the unfinished stone is only 94 cm high.
The Nazi archeology was also made to serve prove that the Aryan race was the light into the European nation.

Deal with facts brother:
1)Jesus was Jewish.... so was David Solomon Moses Jacob (Israel), Isaac Abraham...these were not muslims (developed 2,400 years AFTER the Jewish presence in Israel!)
2) there is one and only 1 Jewish country and it is HERE.
3) You coming up with squirrelly millimeter comparisons of these ancient Jewish Temple stones is the paranoid antic of the day.

6. As usual #3 is again spewing irrelevant/unverified rubbish
The stones used on the Jewish Temple were of different dimensions, depending where they were used in a building or an outer wall, or for pavement
At least you acknowledge the Jewish right to Temple Mount and the need to remove the foreign and ghastly Pagan construction from there.

of archilogy but this site that is "oddly" located in Jerusalem(you know usully local built their structured from local ston cause it was chip), you lack of knowleg expose your missguidedness, you never been to the wall to know, if you did you probably observe how the wall stones r not even, they r built from different sizes of stones. oh when the truth hurts, jewish king Herolds didn't rebuilt but improved the existing structure, the first temple ruines, oh yeah, there r much older relics from jewish era underneeth. and the past screeming to come to light.

8. oops mistake!!
"The biggest stones extracted from the quarry would have measured three yards long, two yards across, and two yards high."
That would be 274cmX183cmX183cm
( one yard = 91.44 cm)
so it fits. How did I smanage to mess up? Dumb me. Sorry

9. Thanks For This Article
I have a deep interest in reading & learning about the various archaeological finds in Israel!
Thanks you for keeping the readers updated on what has been found.
I love to read about what archaeologists have discovered in Israel.
PS:
If you could include *more* articles on archaeology discoveries, and what historians are reporting on past finds - this would be great!

there are plenty of opportunities for you to come over to israel and get involved in this excavation and in others like it. a lot of jewish students that live on kibutzim from the usa come exactly for this "digging" experience and learning about the past of jewish history in our land.
i recommend that you call misrad ha'pnim (the interior ministry) in israel and get your information on a possibility for a dig from them. or call the israeli archeological society so that they can help you with the details.

11. #6,7,8 let science, Not emotion, speaks
Herod (1st century BC) was as full-blooded Arab. He massacred the Jewish male boys to keep his dominance over the Jews. Those Jews didn't recognize Herod's Jewishness even he was religious Torah observant Jew, but a convert, who built the second temple and observed Jewish feasts. The whole story and its only narrative were myth. Josephus Flavus who described the temple walls and interior was himself a myth and information about him came from himself only. The Mikvahs were nothing but Roman baths, Masada's residents were fanatic thugs who robed Jewish villages before fleeing to take refuge in a citadel, they captured and didn't belong to them. The skeletons were Roman and the neatly cut hair plait was not Jewish. The Pyramids were built more than a thousand years before first appearance of Jews in Egypt. The Codex, supposed to be on line this moth, says: it was the Jews, not the Romans, who killed Jesus, and is full of anti-Semitic kindling ready to be lit. "His blood be upon us," Barnabas has the Jews cry. It shows there have been thousands of alterations to today's bible. Basics of the scientific methedology is to try first to conclud whicn confirm a previousely put consensus. But, to put a fact and seach for proof for it is far from scientic. That is what we call political biblical archeology in retrospect. That scientic way of search is most needed in that part of the world full of emotions and motivation. But, has the bible itself been scientifically verified to make it the major scientific source of that political archeology.

16. ARCHAELOGICAL HISTORY AND IT'S DENYERS !
THE CLUELESS AND LOONY OBSERVER ANSWERS #14 WITH THIS QUESTION " what matters is the identity, not the content? "
LOONY OBSERVER ....... YOU SHOULD BE MORE SPECIFIC, YOU SPEAK IN RIDDLES.
NO DOUBT THIS IS THE LOONY OBSERVER'S PITIFUL ATTEMPTS TO TRY TO PLANT CONFUSION OR MIRE THE REAL ISSUES AND FACTS.
LOONY OBSERVER IS JUST BEING A NUISANCE.....NOTHING THAT IS SAID BY OBSERVER
TRANSLATES INTO ANY MEANINGFUL DIALOGUE OR ANYTHING PERTINENT TO THE TOPIC AT HAND.
LOONY OBSERVER PLAYS AS A TYPE OF
" SALESMAN "..... SINCE LOONY OBSERVER DOES NOT LIKE ISRAEL, AND THE COMAPRISONS BY OBSERVER WERE GIVEN TO
"NAZI ARCHAEOLOGY" IN POST #3 OF THE LOONY OBSERVER.
LOONY OBSERVER IS ACTING AS A " SNEAKY SALESMAN" TRYING TO SELL HIS OWN BAD IDEAS IN ORDER TO DIVERT ATTENTION AWAY FROM THE REAL TOPIC AT HAND.
LOONY OBSERVER IS ATTEMPTING TO MINIMIZE THE QUARRY'S IMPORTANCE AND IS TRYING TO SELL HIS OWN ODD VERSION OF IDEAS AND MEANINGLESS COMMENTS.
THIS QUARRY DISCOVERY LIKE ALL OTHER ARCHAELOGICAL FINDS IN ISRAEL IS VERY EXCITING AND IMPORTANT.
PEOPLE HAVE NEEDS TO CONNECT TO THEIR PAST HISTORY.
THIS IN ORDER TO RELATE TO THEMSELVES THAT THEY ARE THEMSELVES THE VERY NATURAL CONTINTINUANCE OF THE SAME PEOPLE OF THE HISTORICAL LAND WHICH HAS WAITED PATIENTLY FOR THEM.
THIS TYPE OF QUARRY FIND LENDS CREDENCE OF THE JEWS HISTORICAL AND BINDING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LAND, THE ARTIFACTS WHICH ARE IN, ON OR UNDERNEATH THE LAND.
THIS ARCHAELOGICAL FIND AND OTHERS LIKE IT SPEAK VOLUMES AS TO THE BIRTHRIGHT OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE IN THEIR OWN LAND OF ISRAEL.
IT PROVES THE THE UNBROKEN LINK WHICH SURVIVED MORE THAN THOUSANDS OF YEARS AS WITNESSED BY THIS NEW ARCHAELOGICAL FIND.
THIS IS WHY THE HATERS OF ISRAEL DENIGRATE , OR ATTEMPT TO MINIMIZE THESE TYPE OF HISTORICAL FINDS.
THE VERY EARTH OF ISRAEL, THE LAND OF ISRAEL ITSELF IS OPENNING ITSELF UP TO REVEAL TO IT'S RIGHTFUL JEWISH HERITAGE AND THESE TRUTHS ARE THE LAND'S VERY MYSTICAL OWN WAY OF HELPING IT'S REAL ANCESTRAL-KIN,,,, THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL.
THE HOLY COVENANT OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE AND THE LAND OF ISRAEL ARE JOINED INEXTRICABLY TOGETHER THROUGH-OUT HISTORY.
THIS RELATIONSHIP IS WHAT THE MANY ANTI-SEMITES TRY TO DENY, AND INSTEAD OF OFFERING BLESSINGS, THEY ATTEMPT TO BADMOUTH AND CURSE EVERYTHING THAT REVEALS THE TRUE NATURE OF THE NATURAL BOND BETWEEN A PEOPLE, THE JEWISH PEOPLE AND IT'S LAND, ISRAEL.

17. of course not
why do you always play the devil's advocate? I can make a comment about trolls if I want and that does not give any clue whatsoever as to whether or not I think content is important. You should know me by now and therefore your comment is just plain nasty.
Anyhow, I did mention that I could not really figure out what most of the observers were trying to convey! I did get the nonsense about the quarry not being the one due to the picture of person's height compared to stone size. That was very funny. This observer thinks stones are all at the height they need to be and no work is necessary! Some of the observers are not bright and so I don't bother with their comments.
You should avoid nasty comments as they mislead your direction and are pointless. You should not arrive at totally illogical conclusions which you have done before as well. They detract from your value a lot.

18. Biblical Archeology
There's a big difference between historic generalities and the specific people and events mentioned in the Bible. For instance, King David and his son, Solomon, are huge parts of Jewish history in the Old Testament. Shouldn't we find archeology in Israel to support for their reigns and activities as well? There is the well-established "David Myth" -- a literary invention drawn from heroic tradition to establish the Jewish monarchy. Kathleen Kenyon, a credible archaeologist, declared: "To many people it seems remarkable that David and Solomon still remain unknown outside the Old Testament or literary sources derived directly from it. No extra-biblical inscription, either from Palestine or from a neighboring country, has yet been found to contain a reference to them." David was mentioned 1,048 times in the Bible -- the subject of 62 chapters and the writer of probably 73 Psalms in the Old Testament.
That is their argument : [many scholars today question the validity of Biblical accounts, supposedly based on the findings of archaeology. When the “discrepancies” are examined in detail, however it is found that the problems lie with the archeology (i.e. misinterpretation of evidence, lack of evidence, or poor scholarship) and not with the Bible.] That generosity in criticizing archeology why is not used in improving its methodology?

19. who lies here?
The miraculous escape of 600,000 led by Moses, their wandering in the wilderness for forty years, their swift conquest of the Promised Land under Joshua, and the slaughter of all the original inhabitants. These events, memorialized in major Jewish festivals, occupy four of the first five books of the Bible traditionally attributed to Moses. Physical evidence and historical texts confirm that Canaanites had traditionally settled in the prosperous east delta region of Egypt, particularly in times of drought, famine, and war. Some came as landless conscripts and prisoners of war, others as farmers, herders, or tradesmen. Egyptian historians tell of the Hyksos, Canaanite immigrants who became dominant in a great delta city and were forcibly expelled by the Egyptians around 1570 BCE. After the Hyksos expulsion, the Egyptian government controlled immigration from Canaan closely and built forts along the eastern delta and at one-day intervals along the Mediterreanean coast to Gaza. These forts kept extensive records, none of which mention the Israelites or any other foreign ethnic group entering, leaving, or living as a people in the delta. Biblical scholars place the Exodus in the late thirteenth century BCE, and up to that time there is only one mention of the name Israel, despite many Egyptian records concerning Canaan. Nor is there any archaeological evidence for a body of people encamping in the desert and mountains of Sinai in the Late Bronze Age.

and check out in depth the findings of Dr. Eilat Mazar. And be patient, the truth will eventually be revealed. Building on top of and trying to ruin Jewish history -
Waqf of intentionally demolishing priceless Jewish artifacts, including remains from the Second Temple. In recent months, the Waqf brought in bulldozers and heavy digging equipment to dig a long trench on the Mount, supposedly to replace electrical cables. "Israeli archaeologists who sifted through the discarded earth," the Law Center reports, "were shocked to discover a great number of Jewish artifacts brutally trashed by the bulldozers. A wall from the outer courtyard of the Second Temple is believed to have been completely pulverized."
"The recently accelerated destruction is part of a four-decade-long campaign by the Waqf to eradicate all evidence of the historical Jewish connection and claim to the Temple Mount,"
|
|
21. four-decade-long campaign? whose fault?
of course it's the occupier who was not there before 4 decades when reconstruction was at its maximum. I would believe that Israel does not block those under age of 45 who are mandated to pray 5 times in the mosque and Friday prayer is a must in their mosque, more than those conspiracy theories. those who easily cut the neck on the mere suspicion can't cut the hand; that's the real conspiracy.

23. excessive attention leads to questioning credibility
It is now evident that the selection of Abraham, with his close connection to Hebron, Judah's earliest royal city, and to Jerusalem . . . was meant also to emphasize the primacy of Judah even in the earliest eras of Israel's history. It is almost as if an American scripture describing pre-Columbian history placed excessive attention on Manhattan Island or on the tract of land that would later become Washington, D.C. The pointed political meaning of the inclusion of such a detail in a larger narrative at least calls into question its historical credibility.
As far as we can see on the basis of the archaeological surveys, Judah remained relatively empty of permanent population, quite isolated, and very marginal right up to and past the presumed time of David and Solomon, with no major urban centers and with no pronounced hierarchy of hamlets, villages, and towns. There is no trace of written documents or inscriptions, nor of the Temple or palace of Solomon, and buildings once identified with Solomon have been shown to date from other periods. Current evidence refutes the existence of a unified kingdom: "The glorious epic of united monarchy was -- like the stories of the patriarchs and the sagas of the Exodus and conquest -- a brilliant composition that wove together ancient heroic tales and legends into a coherent and persuasive prophecy for the people of Israel in the seventh century BCE"

When one religion tries to convince themselves, their children and the world, that another religion is actually a myth, they do not notice they are actually claiming that their religion is a myth. It will not work muslems.
You are the fools, not the Jews and not the christians!!! Your empty hypotheses, half twisted facts and truths, partial parts of history are like looking at an inch of an elephants leg under a microscope, claiming that the elephant is actually a millions germs and the animal itself does not exist as it is not shown.
It is evil misleading and ineffective.
|
|
26. #3, Do you think one size fits all?
Nice little straw man argument your concocted.
First of all, the differences in dimensions you quote are not all that large.
Secondly, and more importantly, the stones used to build the actual Temple would not necessarily be as large as those of the Western Wall, which, after all, was the retaining wall of the entire Temple Mount.
|
|
27. #3 The Palestinian narrative denies a Jewish Temple
ever even existed. I don't know why you would even venture to mention Nazi archeology, because when it comes to pseudo-science and inventing a fake history, the pot is really calling the kettle black.
|
|
28. #11, "Herod was a full-blooded Arab". Not!
Herod was not an Arab, he was a 4th generation Jew of Edomite descent. The Edomites were converted to Judaism by John Hyrcanus a century before Herod. But bear in mind, the Edomites were originally Hebrews, descended from Jacob's brother Esau. The original true Arabs were descended from one 'Qahtan' and came from the region of Yemen. The Arabs of northern Arabia and the Syrian desert were Arabized at a much later date.
There is no evidence Herod's massacre of the first born ever took place.
The identity of the skeletal remains at Masada were never proven to be Roman or non-Jewish, it was only the opinion of one group of archeologists built on assumptions not evidence, motivated by a desire to "demystify Masada". These findings are contested.
The Mikvahs in Jerusalem were not run-of-mill Roman baths, as they were made to the specifications required by Jewish law.
Nobody but ranting Arab nationalists ever claimed that Jews claimed they built the pyramids themselves. In the Bible, it says the Hebrew slaves constructed the STORE CITIES of Pithom and Raamses, not the pyramids.
The so-called "Codex" you mention is the so-called "Gospel of Barnabas", which was never part of the New Testament, and was never considered canonical or authoritative by early Christians.
In short, you are not motivated by science so much as by your jealousy, of the Jews, who - unlike the Arabs - had a long history of civilization, and documented their OWN history, the veracity of which you are trying to debunk.
|
|
29. #19 You reveal utter ignorance
The Israelites came to Egypt FROM Canaan. According to ancient sources, the Israelites in Egypt were associated with the Hyksos, and ethno-linguistically were not distinguishable from other societies from Canaan in the Bronze Age. In fact, one of the Hyksos pharaohs was named Yaqob-har, "har" being the name of a divine mountain commonly used in the names of Hyksos rulers (har means mountain in Hebrew).
The opinion that the Exodus occurred in the late 13th century is a modern interpolation, but it entirely contradicts the Bible itself, which gives a date in the middle of the 15th century b.c., much closer to the date that the Hyksos were expelled.
