Ramon: Netanyahu doesn't believe in 2-state vision    Attila Somfalvi
1. Ramon?
Like we care about what the has-been schmuck Ramon says?
Jonny Gee ,   Brookline, MA USA   (07.09.09)
2. Bibi is right - Livini wants to commit suicide
It has come to a point wherein unless the Palestinians put down their arms they deserve nothing. They have refused a state believeing they can destroy Israel. Gaza is (was) a lovely seaside resort and they can live there under the enlightened rule of Hamas.
Dan ,   Titusville, FL USA   (07.09.09)
3. Why must we hear this fr. Ramon and not the PM?
If this is the case, why didn't he tell Mr. Obama and the international community? Why do we have to get this second and third hand from Ramon and other and not from the "horse's mouth?" This is a morally defensible position that would galvanize Netanyahu's base of support around the world and in Israel. Instead Mr. Netanyahu is attempting to please everyone and in the end he will please no one. A leader takes a stand, a moral stand, no matter how discomforting.
Steve Klein   (07.09.09)
4. 2 states??
So tell the PM to stop kissing up to Obama. Its a losing proposition. Stand up for what he believes in. That's the way to earn respect. Respect is much better than phony friendship of the Obama or arab type.
alan   (07.09.09)
5. Final Solution
You have to be a suicidal Israeli nut to 'believe ' in the two state solution. Israel is full of them and they will have their suicide by stupidity. God has a remnant.
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.09.09)
6. Why should anyone believe in "two-states"? 242 as is, is the
only way out, that is most of the West Bank becomes part of Jordan and the Gaza Strip part of Egypt.
Avihu ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.09.09)
7. Former MK Ramon the sex offender is an idiot!
!   (07.09.09)
8. Ramon and Livni serve their parties rather than the country.
Rebecca ,   Modiin   (07.09.09)
9. RAMON - MOST JEWS DO NOT WANT 2 STATES...
so what are you trying to do... gain a few arab votes? kadima is political dead meat.
stude ham   (07.09.09)
10. 2 State Solution Unworkable
Various Palestinian leaders have been saying they do not want any 2 state solution -- they have been saying this for the last ~60 years. Obviously, Netanyahu *has* been paying attention. Good for him. The people who keep insisting that a 2 state solution is workable obviously *HAVE NOT* been paying attention.
Christy ,   Boston, US   (07.09.09)
11. Ramon doesn't believe women who say NO!
Yoni   (07.09.09)
12. Kadima conduct - Livni
The conduct of kadima that today has new indictments against several former Kadima governmet officials .
Jerry ,   Us   (07.09.09)
13. Attacking the PM
will only serve the interests of Israel's enemies. Ramon must have been sleeping when the PM made his speech to the world.
Brod ,   USA   (07.09.09)
14. 2 states
The has been again opens his mouth with NOTHING to say.Nobody in Israel wants a 2 state country It is the americans pushing, demanding and promoting 2 staes. The americans are so scared that the arabs will invade america hence they want to give the arabs an alterbative.Ramon is an idot and does not see the future os Israel
colin   (07.09.09)
15. that's ok most of don't have faith in PM!
so we're even!
(07.09.09)
16. nor should he!
2 state solution is an insane solution!no soveriegn state should relinquish territory to the losing side, especially when that losing side has not even recognized israel for israel! the only solution is an organised transfer to jordan.
oded   (07.09.09)
17. Ramon Livni and the kadima alternative
One thing that kadima is gleefully overlooking: WE, the citizens of the State of Israel, threw out the appeasers of kadima by a significant majority. In fact over 2/3 of the voters voted AGAINST the "alternative." What you are seeing is pure hypocrisy! kadima is proving that it will do anything to regain power, even attempt to undermine the legitimately elected government of our democracy. I believe the term "carpetbagger" comes to mind
Arie ,   BaGolan   (07.09.09)
18. So what? Neither do most of us.
Face it. The majority of Israelis support the concept of a 2-state solution. However, if you ask the same Israelis if they think it's going to happen in our lifetime, I'll bet the polls would show that most of us think not. Just like Bibi.
JPS ,   Efrat   (07.09.09)
19. He's Not Alone!
So the PM has no faith in two states. I don't know anyone who actually believes that it will work. The Palestinians can't make peace between themselves and are considered major troublemakers wherever they have taken up residence. A Palestinian state will be a living nightmare for Israel.
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville USA   (07.10.09)
20. Ramons' Remark Is Tongue-In-Cheek
Only trouble is...his tongue is in someone elses' cheek (some of us have long memories.)Anyway,Livni the ex-mossad beauty is a fairly useless appendage.
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (07.09.09)
21. News flash: the Arabs don't believe in a 2-state solution
If the Arabs reaally believed in a 2-state solution --they'd already have that state--back in 1947--or in the 1990s--but their actions have not shown interst in creating an Arab state but rather in destroying a Jewish one, .
bob ,   potomac md usa   (07.10.09)
22. Has any Palestinian leader ever had faith in the 2-state ide
Has any Palestinian leader ever had real faith in the two-state idea? Has the Palestinian public ever supported this idea. Do Palestinian leaders now support the idea? Does Palestinian society now support the idea? Sabar Plocker of Yediot thinks no to all these questions.
Thoughtful ,   Haifa   (07.10.09)
23. even if israel want 2 state , we wont accept.. true
1990 the 2 state was the perfect solution , 2008 could or couldnt happen , 2015 the 2 state wont be possible , whatever time it takes the only solution will satisfy us and solve the problems (refugees ,capital ,border ,,,, will be the one state, in the meanwhile we used to survive under all circumstances , the UN feeds more than 80% of palis and offer a multiple kind of jobs you all right if we want this pretended state we could get it in 1990 or to be part of jordan and egypt , but why to accept this tiny state or be part of other countries while we could take all the land in this time lets see your pm lost and ur lieberman kicked out everwhere
asd ,   gaza   (07.10.09)
24. "Kadima will do whats good for the country"
Ms Livni, please explain to me how declaring Judea and Samaria a judenrein area is good for Israel? Please explain, because I'm having trouble understanding this. How is creating an Arab state in Judea and Samaria, controlled by either the terrorist group Fatah or the terrorist group Hamas good for Israel? Why is it good for Israel to give the Palestinians land which can (and will) easily be used to fire rockets at Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and pretty much every other major population center in Israel? Why is it good for Israel to bow to every American demand? Why is it good for Israel to let Barack Obama dictate to Israelis how the country is to be run? Why is it good for Israel to negotiate with terrorists? The one thing that I really can't get my head around is the willingness of Kadima politicians to release Arab terrorists with blood on their hands from jail. Please explain to me, Ms Livni, why releasing terrorists is good for Israel? Why is it good for Israel to put our security at risk? Did Kadima do what was good for the country when Ehud Olmert completely screwed up the management of the Second Lebanon War? Did Kadima do what was good for Israel during Operation Cast Lead, when the Kadima led government ordered the IDF to withdraw from Gaza before the job was finished? Somehow, Ms Livni, I have a lot of trouble believing you when you say that your party does what is good for the country, when everything your party does seems to be bad for the country.
Steve   (07.10.09)
25. Is this a crypto Livni fluff piece?
Stewart ,   U.S.A.   (07.10.09)
26. Why Bother read their charters!
Pay the Arabs for the West Bank and Gaza. If they refuse, drive them back to their homelands. Arabs will never rest until they destroy Israel. Consequently, make your land defensible, and drive them into the sea.
Kerry ,   Redlands USA   (07.10.09)
27. The Two States solution has reduced the prospects for peace
The Two States solution is based on a series of erroneous assumptions, ignoring documented precedents, and therefore constituting an erroneous policy. "Israel and Palestine living side-by-side in peace," while the PLO and Hamas have been engaged in a horrific civil war, while there has not been inter-Arab peace during the last 1,400 years, while there has not been inter-Arab compliance with most inter-Arab agreements during the last 1,400 years, while there has not been a single Arab democracy during the last 1,400 years??? The Two States solution has exacerbated regional turbulence, has fueled terrorism, has promoted war and has reduced the prospects for peace, thus undermining the national security of both the US and Israel. As to the legitimacy : http://xrl.us/benher

28. nobody in his right mind
No person in his right mind thinks that the 2 state illusion will bring peace. on the contrary
Yohanan Levi   (07.10.09)
29. Disengagement Failure
You dont have to be the world's biggest brain to work out that after we disengaged from Gaza a terrorist entity took over. Thousands of missiles were fired into Israel. Tunnels are dug to smuggle into Gaza weapons and missiles. We can not afford this to happen in Judea and the Shomron (Samaria). Does central Israel need thousands of rockets fired at them daily? Do we need the terrorists to dig tunnels and reach major towns and cities and use them to stage suicide attacks. I say NO to a Palestine state in Judea and Samaria. YRS to a Palestinian state in Jordan which occupies 78% of the Mandate with 77% Palestinian population. Jordan IS Palestine.
Lioness ,   Israel   (07.10.09)
30. I agree
there should be one state between the Med and the River Jordan ... APARTHEID ISRAEL. enjoy it !!! Shalooooom
