1. Stop supporting these dossers finacially
It's amazing how much free time these unemployed so called god loving religious folk have to riot at the most pettiest of things. Stop supporting them financially, let them all get proper jobs like you and me and then lets see if they have spare time to riot and burn the streets of Jerusalem

6. Chilul Hashem
This riot brought to you by the same folks who bring you the Sabbath riots and the support the PA demonstrations. It is important for secular readers to realize that this is a lunatic fringe group ( and boy do i mean lunatic) This is not the normal path of all Hareidi. AND, I agree these individuals need to be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. This feeling of entitlement and "we are untouchable" must end. No one benifits at all.

9. Nos.1-4 -- All of the above.
Though I have heard (unconfirmed) that the Neutrei Karta do not except the filthy Zionist child allowances or welfare.
However, once they start setting fires on their own turf, they expect the Zionist fire fighters to put them out and the Zionist sanitation crews to clean up the mess.
I've said it before and I'll say it again -- let them burn down their own streets and live in their own filth.

10. This women abusee her own child and the Charideem riot
just how sick a society are these people. This women mass produces children in order to fullfill some ridiculous religious requirement and then abuses her own child and the Charideem cause a riot when this monster is arrested ? Just goes to show how such fanatisim clouds their basic human ability to determine right from wrong.
Seems they have to much time on their hands, theser free loaders need to know there is a law in this country that is designed to protect abused children from such incidents, Defending a child abuser shows how sick they really are.

14. What are you doing on the streets get back to learning
What chutzpah...we dont have enough trouble with arabs we need petz like you to cause riots.
This is an outrage.
To the authorities, those kids who are caught rioting should have their families NII (welfare) revoked.
In no time flat the streets will be quiet.
The same should apply to arabs...You riot you lose your NII. payments(welfare).

15. abusive mother
this is a tragedy. that the ultra orthodox nturei karta can't recognize child abuse when they see it is absurd. i suggest they go back to study the chumash and talmud and look up the concept of chilul hashem. their behavior is a disgrace. thank g-d they are dealing with jewish police. other police in different countries would have split their heads open.

21. What is to Be Done
The mother has been diagnosed as a psychologically sick woman suffering from a disease known to medical science.. Were she not living in the nineteenth century she would avail herself of the help offered by the state. That her neighbors and mentors are as primitive as she is makes a solution difficult but not impossible. A court order should be obtained to institutionalize her involuntarily as is the accepted practice in other countries. After all, it is a matter of fact that she has recklessly endangered the life of a minor whom the state is obliged to protect. Removing the one child to a hospital does not protect her other children from her abuse. In this case, activism on the part of the judicial system is expected.

22. The Charadim are correct.
In a normal country the MOTHER would not have been arrested, she would be given physiologic help! Why arrest her????
and in a normal country they would not impose collective punishment on an entire sector of the community because of the actions of a dozen people.
This is what you get when you have a secular major of Jerusalem.

25. Sorry Danny, #14 from London England
but in Canada an arrest warrant would have been extended and psychological services offered plus child welfare authorities would have been required to take the child. As a retired psychologist who worked on cases involving child welfare, I can also tell you without a doubt that once having assessed for Munchausen's or Munchausen's by Proxy (a very difficult diagnosis), treatment, even in those rare cases where the mother is willing, is nearly impossible. The fact that she is backed up by an interested group (naturei Karta) means that successful treatment is even more unlikely. In psychological terms, Naturei Karta would be referred to as "enablers". Moreover, this recent "protection" of the mother as opposed to the child indicates that they (Naturei Karta) are hiding many more instances of child abuse. Naturei Karta has lived too long in Jerusalem without any conditions nor impositions imposed by the state and so, in psychological terms, has become "entitled". For the good of the nation and the welfare of the children, they (Naturei Karta) must be required to obey the principles of the law and, furthermore, must be required to complete national service in return for national insurance (that includes medical, by the way, as well as access to the Courts of Law.

26. child abuse
I'd be charging them with obstruction of justice. To go all out to protect the guilty (and in which it becomes more like the rule than the exception) while totally ignoring the needs of the innocent is a real problem.

27. In anormal country
the police would be MUCH MUCH more aggressive. In any abuse case, the parent is first and foremost arrested. Where do you live-in what "normal" country?! Iran? Saudi Arabia? Sudan?

28. #21
Thank you for one literate talkback so far! However, you are mistaken: the woman has not been diagnosed. She has been accused. Another point: the syndrome itself is not accepted in courts in the UK (where it was invented) and in Australia. It is accepted in the USA though and presumably the 52nd State will follow suite. Moreover, she has not recklessly endangered the life of her child. The child was undergoing chemotherapy but doctors later retracted their diagnosis. She disputed their initial diagnosis all along and pestered them to get other opinions. We all know what happens when you pick an argument with an Israeli doctor. But if you look carefully at the article, you will see that the hospital refused to permit her arrest on their premises. Had they agreed with the doctor who made this claim, they would have been obliged to do so. There is much more to this than meets the eye.

29. the photo
doesn't look like your infamous neture karta to me. It looks like a fifteen year old kid running amok, watched by a handful of friends (on the left in white shirts) On the right, you can see regular orthodox passers bye barely giving the spectacle a glance. No neture karta to be seen.

30. Why The Riots
A child was starved almost to death. Why shouldn't this women be arrested? She has other children that need to be protected. She's obviously mentally ill. Why didn't the rioters help her or seek help for her? Children need to be protected.
