City suspends services to haredi neighborhoods    Efrat Weiss
31. The Charadim are correct. Here is the real story.
The story in short is as follows, at the age of 1 the child got sick. He had fever, couldn’t keep food down etc. so on the advice of Dr. Floris Levy, a pediatric emergency medicine specialist at Hadassah Medical Center -whom she highly trusted- he was hospitalized In the Hadassah ein-kerem medical center where he was (wrongly) diagnosed with cancer by Dr. Michael Weintraub and Dr. Memet Aker under whose "care" he is until now. the child was and still is under hospital care the whole time. As time went by and as the child received chemo therapy (for no good reason) and no turn for the better the mother started to smell that some thing isn’t right. But was brainwashed by the doctors that they are doing everything for the child’s welfare. But as more time went by and still no improvement in the child’s condition. The mother smelled that something is fishy and started to question the doctors. That’s when one of the doctors mistakenly slipped out that the child was misdiagnosed. The parents were warned not to tell anybody and not listen to anybody’s advice. But even though, the doctors being afraid that the parents will open a malpractice case against them and the hospital. They preemptively counter accused them and opened up this child abuse case against the mother, to cover up their on wrongdoing. They created this exotic condition that the mother never had and will never have. Regarding the protest's, rioting, etc. i strongly disapprove of any violence. hOWEVER if anybody has a better suggestion as to how to free a Innocent Jewish mother (at least on bail, which the court denied. some thing that would never happen in the u.s. or any other civilized country providing she poses no threat to anyone.) after a week (she was actually arrested a week ago) trying to settle this through the proper channels (lawyers, doctors, etc.) please post. Israel is a corrupt country and the "proper channels" do not work.

32. #31 Your story is not credible.
A diagnosis of cancer requires biopsies and the examination for cancerous cells. The original tissue is stored. If a diagnosis of cancer is made, frequent biopsies are performed to monitor the effect of treatment on the cancer. If there was an initial mistake, which I doubt, it would have been caught quickly. This story is just not credible. If you are getting this story from the mother, she is lying. And lying is evidence of consciousness of guilt.

35. #30 - Yes! I Also Don't Understand
I know the Neturei Karta are a fringe group that seems to hate Israel. (Why they live there at all is a total mystery to me!!) What is the point of the riots? Do they demand the woman be released? It's very unclear to me what they want. Do they defend what this woman has done? Don't they care about the child she has harmed? Don't they want to see this woman get some help? Will they undertake the care of this woman, and her children, themselves? It's a shame that other haredi, who don't support the NKs, may suffer loss of service also. However, the state has to protect the workers that supply the services.

36. And Danny (#31) --
How do you know so much about this case? Were you involved in some professional way or did you learn about it on "good" authority? You've managed to indite two Israeli doctors so far. If you are right, then they should be taken to task. If wrong, then you should be taken to task for slandering them. Remember, if this is a case of Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy then the delinquent party (the mother) must be considered very deceptive and manipulating and would be able to fool most of the people in the community. Normally, the doctors will have had some genuine proof of their diagnosis such as videotapes. I think you write in too cocksure a manner in a way that no professional would. Could you, too, be fooled? As far as those protesting, don't you have a concern that if the protesters are Naturei Karta, that they appear to have no sense of legal avenues whereby they could protest and have no respect for the state of Israel nor do they acknowledge the state yet appear to feel "entitled". And for your part, you define the whole country as "corrupt". Who are you, what do you know and where are you coming from, London Danny?

37. #28 - What do you deem as "recklessly endangerment"?
"she has not recklessly endangered the life of her child" Really? Taking out a feeding tube or pouring unknown liquids into the stomach of her child is NOT considered reckless endangerment? That would make sense coming from you - who supports whole-heartedly the use of children as soldiers and human shields by Palestinian terrorists. You're hardly the person who can give US a lesson in child endangerment.

38. #29 - Observer - Pulling at straws?
Amazing how you can generate a complete story out of one picture where both peripheral vision and context are excluded. No one else seems to get the truth from just one photo, but you and your Arab cohorts can seemingly "see" everything.... and yet miss everything...like the doctored photos with Photoshop or the same woman who appeared in many photos of many different destroyed buildings claiming them as her own. All you managed to do is show how easily you are led by your blind hatred and need to demonize.

39. #30 - They don't protest her arrest, they protest Israel
Their protests are not so much because of the arrest of this woman - this is just a catalyst event. This protest is a simmering tension over the divide between ultra-orthodox and secular. Ultra-orthodox are like little cults - they are seclusive, insist their way is the only way (to the point of even battling amongst themselves when one rabbi contradicts another), and seek to control the population and information flow. Most orthodox DO NOT fall into this category and they work and integrate well with Israeli society. These extremists are on level, but less violent than Hamas or the Taliban, but more so like the religious sect in Utah which came into the media light when a child with Leukemia was denied treatment by his mother because their religion forbids medical attention on the grounds they "play G-d".

40. He's a Doc, of course he knows best!
My son was mis-diagnosed in the same Hospital - Hadasah Ein Karem - as well. The high-'n-mighty Israeli Doc's said he's suffering from a hernia, while all the time it was a big boil caused by a streptococcus aureus infection (Staph aureus in medical literature). My son was only a few months old at the time, and you can only imagine the pain he went through while the doctors in the ER were trying to "put the Kishkes back up in place"... I don't wish the agony I experienced - while watching my child withering in pain - on anyone. Thanks Hashem some newbie Russian Doc diagnosed the problem correctly, and also showed up a few weeks later to help after the Regular Docs (רופא תורן) managed to botch up the infection drainage system installed via surgery to drain the puss. Oh, and you can only imagine the looks and backtalk I received from the Professors at the hospital for questioning their wrong judgment... Good thing they didn't diagnose me with Munchausen disease... Riots anyone?...

42. charedi riots
their seems to be one point missed by most of you and im not surprised since the news article failed to mention it -just keep it in mind while your morally hanging these crazy religious fanatics - the legality of the arrest is debatable especially due to the fact that the woman is not 100%. their are many cases of abuse all over the world that are known to social services yet legally there is barely anything to be done. in the good cases they mange to separate the abuser from the kids . but barely ever is a parent charged let alone arrested, being that it is legally so hard to prove. im not saying this is the case but bare in mind that the arrest may not be 100% illegal and maybe a lil biased. im talking about dry law hachok hayavesh.

44. Haredi riots
Read No, 31 everyone! Everyone should know that what the media reports on Haredim is too often incorrect (not unlike world media reports on Israel), as well as that the rioters are a tiny fraction who don't represent the mainstream Haredi world - and actually don't accept money from the government because they don't hold of it. Mainstream Haredim who do get support learn, WORK (yes!) and don't riot.

45. Cut their services for good - and stop taking $$ out my pay
check to pay for their "yeshivas". If this is the Torah they're learning, I'd rather my money go to prostitutes and booze, you know, sin the good old fashioned way.

46. Haredim Dummys
Good Riddence! Turn off their power, there living in the middle ages anyway! I say, since most of them think this is the land of Israel and not Medinat ysrael... then they should just get the F**K OUT!

47. kudos to Ynet
I can only applaud Ynet for having the courage to publish Danny's talkback (#31) in full with names etc. I never believed that so much revelation would pass the moderators (even for legal reasons). Perhaps now, some brave journalist can get on the case and publicise it - that's what would happen in the UK or USA - and we might just see some justice. This is going to cost a poor family big money in legal fees and who knows if the establishment will even consider the possibility that a haredi woman can be right against its own, the doctors. The Palestinians at least have human rights groups helping them, and still see pretty poor results in court. The haredim have no one and have the media against them as well. Perhaps this case might just prove to be a turning point in haredi-secular relations.

50. Just being machmir
I think everyone is missing the goal of these rioters. They are simply being machmir in their observance of the mitzvah of sinat chinam and trying to recreate the atmosphere of Bayit Sheni. This is their minchag of observing the three weeks. Who are we to frown upon minhagim, or to let halacha get in the way?
