And as a secular you can marry with any recognized rabbi you want. i know plenty of secular people who found wonderful rabbis who are sensitive to the needs of seculars and go with the flow. you are a Jew, so therefore, it only makes sense that you have a Jewish wedding. If you have a secular wedding, then as a Jew, you are still single, although as a secular you're married. Is your Jewishness what's important to you, or just being secular and defying the religion?

Think Hillel's prozbul, and Rabbenu Gershom's prohibition of polygamy - in one case permitting what had been prohibited, in the other prohibiting what had been permitted. In cases like this, when the woman refuses to accept the divorce, hubby can take a second wife. Easier for a Sephardic man, but by no means impossible for an Azkenazic man either.
