The 'trying (a little too hard) to be snobs' ones have a problem. Normal people have normal families and tend to choose normal places, unpretentious ones particularly in the summer. FYI We don't like the over blown over hyped jacuzzi, seven kinds o' goats cheese, five kinds o' home made jam, at your door in the morning nonsense, even off season. That's passe, hopefully.

you want the average israeli family to come - LOWER the prices. It is cheaper to fly and stay in hotel abroad.

There are zimmers that are relatively cheap, yet have everything you need. Just much smaller and saner. Last year I rented a zimmer that cost me about 250 nis for a night, with jacuzzi. Besides, there are zimmers that offer discount for soldiers. And who needs breakfast and entertainment? I have a girlfriend for that!

It is absolutely because they are over-priced. My wife and I recently spent 2 days and nights in Prague. Even including airfare, the price was about the equivelent of a weekend in a Galil/Golan guest house. We don't stay at tzimmerim because they are too darned expensive.

How about a web site, phone number or some additional info that would allow someone to talk advantage of this situation?

much cheaper to travel abroad than stay up north (or actually any place in Israel). prices have to be lower for us to vacation here.

Lies Tried to book a room and was told they are full everyweekend.Book three months in advance was the excuse. The guesthouses are overpriced and are loosing clients to the moshavim who give reasonable rates

There is a travel site that I read. Many foreign tourists are interested in coming to zimmers. They are frequently able and willing to spend more than Israelis. However they report unanswered emails, rude responses on the phone, websites with not if minimal English. If you want to attract foreign tourists you have to reach out alittle.

I would like to have a guesthouse in Tiberias and take tourists on the Kinneret, if there will still be a Kinneret, it keeps getting lower every year.

We were in Arbelit moshav Arbel and we paid 550 NIS per nite for 8 nites. Jaccuzzi, sauna, but no swimming pool. No documentation in english, no discount vouchers in english or french. everything is so expensive. Ridding horse 330 NIS for half a day, in france we pay one all week from 9 to 5 pm 1100 NIS. We wanted to stay somewhere else in the north, we spoke in hebrew and I confirm by sending a eFax in English, no answer, the guy did not read english.. the price he gave us by phone was not the the price he wrote on the email as usual.... With the Zimmers , as a tourist you never if you can get the vat back or not. nothing is clear in this country. everything is black money..
