Persecuting the haredim    Dudi Zilbershlag
31. to #24
Say what???? Have you not seen the news? It's there on film, for God's sake! You can see it with your own eyes! Wake up! As for your dear father, he should be aware that in America when there is suspicion that a child is in danger he is removed from the home as well as his siblings, while his parent(s) are arrested while awaiting sentencing. Where does your father live? It sounds like he's a haredi in the States, oblivious to everything around him. You haredim have a problem: you always condone what other haredim do and always come to their aid when a haredi is being confronted by a non-haredi (ie: human being). Get a life.

He's not a tzadik if he condones riots. He writes "I found it difficult to defend the riots, but I was careful not to condemn them either. ' Do you get that??? He was trying to defend the rioters, but "found it difficult", however he was "carful not to condemn them".\ My friend, this man is not a tzadik, he's a moron like the rest of his tribe. Israel would be better off without this slime.

33. oye! Mr. Zilbershlag! why?
I don't understand what dybbak got into you but clearly one did! For years I have been following (and contributing) to your good works via "Koach LaTet" and "Meir Panim" I know that you served in the Army and that you have a job...that job for many years has been to provide assistance to the needy, the down and out, and the misfortunates addicted to drugs. Why have you decided to go out on this limb? When all indications are that the orthodox woman in question has serious issues. If you have information that she is being mistreated then do all of us the service of using your good name to present that information. Otherwise Sir not only do you do yourself a disservice you do all your good works a disservice. and here I apologize for totally misquoting the Talmud but somewhere in the Talmud there is a saying similar to: One "ah! sh-t" cancels out 10 "ata boys" and with all due respect and begging ur pardon this article is that one "ah! sh-t!"

34. the author is the family's official representative!
yep! he keeps being interviewed by the media in Israel and that's how he's introduced "Natzig HaMishpacha Mr. Dudi Zilbershlag" (the family representative Mr. Dudi Zilbershlag) so how objective is this article? or it just an info-mercial?

35. Persecuting the haredim
I think the opposite is true, the haredim want everybody to accept their concepts. To me their behavior puts a black mark on Judaism and should be discouraged with the maximum of force. They want to live in an isolated world with their own rules and seem to believe one of their number can do no wrong.

36. Op Ed by Dudi Zilbershlag
I was interested in Dudi Zilbershlag's take on the tragedy of the child and mother who appears to suffer from munchausen-by-proxy. This is a very serious illness and not to be swept under the rug. Our children are on loan as a gift from God and we as parents have a duty to protect and care for them. When a parent is not able to care for her/his child, it is our duty as Jews to respond, not by brushing it under the rug, but by finding a way to help. If this isn't a case of pikuach nefesh, than I don't know what is. What bothers me the most is rather than working to help both mother and child, the community has chosen to use this tragedy for an opportunity to treat the victims - mother and child - to express their feelings that the non-Haredi community is scapegoating them. This may be the case, but it is not what is important in this situation. The focus should be on saving the lives of the members of this family -refuat hanefesh, refuat haguf. . Often so much protestation reflects denial of the truth rather than exposing the truth. I hope in this case, the truth will be exposed to the light so that mother, child and the community can work to heal themselves.

37. #34 - might explain why its in the OPINION category
It's not an objective article. That's what "opinion" means.

38. Those questioning mothers incarcertation
As I recall, she was arrested right away for endangerment of the child. The doctors "thought" she might have a mental disease but the mother refused to talk to prosecutors or have a mental evaluation. It was the mother's fault she remained in jail rather than being treated because no one could ascertain if treatment was necessary. And, as they show, she's not mental.
