Perhaps some of the people who are opposed to harvesting organs from cadavers for religious reasons (for example that proud father who said his family would never donate organs, even though his daughter received an organ from a cadaver - story was in ynet earlier this year) might want to become live kidney donors to help with the shortage in Israel. After all, they will still be left with one kidney, and many people live long lives with one kidney themselves.
