1. Are you sure it belonged to Hizbollah ?
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.24.09)
I thought maybe it belonged to Mary Poppins. It's amazing how smart these U.N. people are Maybe soon they will learn that they are worthless ,useless eaters.
2. #1 - It makes some sense
William ,   Israel   (07.24.09)
Yes, the UN are a very slow people with no true agenda towards peace or justice. However, in saying these weapons ARE Hizbullah's it may make sense. Since the 1970s, S. Lebanon has been a hodge-podge of different terrorist groups, mostly targeting each other for power. Remember the PLO? They became a separate State liek HIzbullah is doing. Fatah al-Islam, a new Al-Qaeda group on the scene. Fatah, Hamas, PFLP.....different off-shoots, all armed to the teeth. Notice the big common denominator - all Muslims, all hanging out in violent Shia neighborhoods.
3. So what is the UN going to do about it?

8.  ONE OF MY STUPID QUESTIONS AGAIN !
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (07.24.09)
THIS IS USELESS BLIND-EYING AND ATTEMPTING TO DO A A COVER- UP .POMPOUS WORDS WILL NOT AND CANNOT ACCOMPLISH SECURITY FOR THIS REGION.IF IT CANNOT LOOK AFTER ITSELF IN SUCH A SMALL PLACE IN THE WORLD ,WHAT CAN IT BE EXPECTED TO DO IN NORTH KOREA AND IN IRAN ?
9. Behind Hezbollah’s deeds is the fine hand of Iran.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (07.24.09)
It is doubtful that the Shiites will always follow Nasrallah to the barricades, and those who do so will expect material sustenance from Hezbollah. There are estimates that Hezbollah provides employment for 40,000 of its wards and schooling for 100,000 children. This is no small burden, even for a movement sustained by Iranian subsidies. Nor is it the case that the majority of the Shiites want the structures and the rigor of Qom and Tehran dominating their world. True, the underclass and the newly urbanized in the Shiite suburbs may have taken to the dress codes and style and religious ritual of the Iranian theocracy. But the majority must wish a break from all that. More at : http://xrl.us/oowhv
10. This revelation comes as a great surprise
Jake   (07.24.09)
especially after we received assurances that Hizbullah and Nasrallah always tell the truth, never lie, never cheat, dupe, or deceive. And after they demonstrated such great respect for the inviolablity of Israel's northern border, made such ringing endorsements of Israel's right to exist, and administered such tenderness, care, and loving-kindness toward both the living and the dead - surely it is not plausible they would dare to violate a ceasefire. Therefore, I suggest, the UN turn down its brazen rhetoric and put on an extra pair of kid gloves when dealing with Hizbullah.
11. Is Hizbollah a country?
vered ,   israel   (07.24.09)
As cruel and aggressive as Israel's attack on Lebanon was during 2006 the point was that Lebanon is responsible for the attacks Hizbollah is making on Israel because Hizbollah is part of Lebanon and not a country by itself. If Hizbollah was a country by itself, with it's own finances, government, it might not have time to do the nonsense it does. It would either have to officially declare peace or war with its' neighbors, including Lebanon. If Lebanon does not claim Hizbollah as being a legitimate part of their country, than the whole image is even worse: Hizbollah are parasites living off another country's resources, hijacking it's parliament and government offices. I know someone will say, "Duhhh", but it can't be forgotten or buried under the advancing of time.
12. How is nasrallah gonna lie to get out of this one
yonatan ,   tel aviv   (07.24.09)

13.  So What
Mike Van Harris ,   Antwerp Belgium   (07.24.09)

14. Poor widdle Hizbollah
Sarah B ,   New York City, USA   (07.24.09)
Actually, I have it on VERY good authority that their ENTIRE weapons cache blew up. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of terrorist scum, now could it? Oh .... and .... lest I forget .... THANK YOU MOSSAD!
15. #13 - you cannot torment a dog then cry when it reacts
William ,   Israel   (07.24.09)
Protect themselves from Israeli aggression?? Hizbullah has been actign aggressively against Israel, instigating confrontations for almost a decade now. This response was long over due to put Nasrallah back in his place (the rat hole where he hides). Had Nasrallah NOT kidnapped our soldiers on that fateful day - many would still be alive and we wouldn't be having this conversation. Hizbullah signed an agreement and now just broke the agreement. Apparently, you're from the side that believes that only non-Arabs must honor agreements - the Arabs can do as they wish. Notice the quiet fronts on Jordanian and Egyptian borders. Why? They don't act aggressively, do not confront the IDF, and adhere mostly to their signed agreements. Let Lebanon do the same.
16. old shells collected after the war? may have been Israel's?
observer   (07.24.09)
The UN official told the BBC that the weapons included Israeli-manufactured arms. Their date of manufacture is 70s-90s!
