2. Jilted - How do we know it is not a lover dispute?
Josh   (08.02.09)
Gay's are just as capable of such a crime. When a church is shot up, the police look to the church members first. Why are people assuming the orthodox did this? If it is a work place they look at the workers? School they look at the students? Why are people looking at the orthodox? This is not exactly a high profile gay night spot according to the discriptions. Why here and how would a dati extremist person know? Could be a psycotic jilted lover.

Avi ,   Israel   (08.02.09)
You are right where there is hate we shall show love. Thats the difference between then and us. To the memory of those who died.

5. Stupid and Paranoid
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (08.02.09)
To begin with, condolences to the victims families and the survivors. Having said that... Not only is the homosexual community immoral, but it is stupid and paranoid. People do not hate the homosexual, but the act of homosexuality and the flaunting of this lifestyle. Is that so hard for them to understand? The Torah labels the act as an abomination as it is unnatural and goes against G-d's desire for procreation and populating the world with more human beings. This so-called community refuses to accept that concept and attacks anyone who holds that pro-life position as hateful. How stupid of them! The opposition normal people have to homosexuality is borne from both fear (as it is threatening to some) but also a natural revulsion for the unnatural. Simply put, it disgusts people. This "community" is also exceeding paranoid and has already solved this crime, labeled it as a "hate crime" without a shred of evidence as to who actually committed this act.
6. In Israel nothing is "spontaneous"!
Roby   (08.02.09)
... specially when the left-wing mass media is involved.
7. The interviewees
Raptor   (08.02.09)
in this article are wrong in using the term " unfounded hatred ". This is not unfounded, on the contrary, this hatred is solidly founded on religious teachings and the misguided individuals who spew them day in and day out. Religion be damned, it is disgusting.
8. # 5 thanks Reuven ill pass your comments on to the victims
Avi ,   Israel   (08.02.09)
Well we were wondering when you would be spewing your usual venom towards Israels gay population and your usaul sensetivity towards people who do not share your religious point of view. Thanks ill pass your comments to my friends son who is lying in hospital with a bullet in his chest. You just keep fanning the flames of hatred Reuven , as we have seen last night in tel aviv you attack us with words and now bullets.
9. to #3:"where there is hate we shall show love"
stop blaming and ,   look in a mirror   (08.02.09)
what love? you hate and are the biggest racists against anyone or anything that follows religion. you love only yourselves and islamic fanatic terrorists that murder innocent people.
10. It is surprising to see how
leo ,   usa   (08.02.09)
quick people are to jump to conclusions. There is nothing known yet. However, even if some are right and this crime is a hate crime most important fact would be not that phyco, but rather how society deals with it. If it is condoned then Israel is a goner.
11. religion is the source of all evil ...
(08.02.09)
abolish religion , all religion, then maybe we will finally have peace on earth.
12. Reuven , you are DISGUSTING
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.02.09)
for you it are the Gays who are guilty , because of their behaviour . Why not say , following your ideas , that a person who was robbed is also guilty . He had'nt to be wealthy . As long as people don't prevent you from living your way of life , there is no reason , for you or anybody to hurt them . In my town there is one charidi who disgust me with his appearrance , have i the right to murder him ?
13. If some group brainwshed my insecure teen...
JP   (08.02.09)
...to be having sex in manner for acceptance and I knew not only that this would shame the family but that my lineage would be ended, I would be upset. Based on that I would not call it a phobia and I would look to the parents for suspects. If there is a law that you can't preach religion to child or allow adults to sexually approach children, why isn't there a law about sex dens like this? What are beds doing in a place where teens congregate to celebrate gay sex? The gay content comes from adults in the gay community, no? We all see it is brainwashing and sales, don't we? Children shouldn't be pressured one way or the other about sex at a time when hormones are changing. What after all is Gay sex or sex in general for teens? Candy? It is no wonder, such crazy things come out when the laws fail to protect children.
14. #1 Do you mean to say Gays are now seeking to conquer.
Josh   (08.02.09)
Sounds like the Angels of Sodom and Gemorrah need to be taken inside.
15. #9 you attack us with words and bullets
Avi ,   Israel   (08.02.09)
how sad on such a day when two young people are murdered in cold blood you are consumed with hatred. i looked in the mirror and thanks i look fabulous :-)
16. #14 Josh show respect to the victims
Avi ,   Israel   (08.02.09)
How about sending your condolences to the victims of this horrendous hate crime. Incase you might have forgotten two young people were murdered in cold blood the victims of a hate crime because they were gay, yet you take this opportunity to fan the flames of hatred. Shame on you.
17. Hang in there Reuven.......
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.02.09)
I read your email twice and I did not see the hatred to the INDIVIDUAL, but for the sin that it is. Same goes for adultery where G*d hates the SIN and not the person. Then, what you said about the Torah is correct. But take in consideration of Israel in the time of Yirmeyahu. They sinned before G*d and basically told Yirmeyahu to shut up in todays' words. They wanted to believe a lie and follow their fleshly desires, (Just read the first 6 chapters of Judges and you will see, the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord,) and so they did; and we wonder why we are in the shape we are in now. If it was wrong in the time of Sodom and Gomorrah when G*d destroyed the cities and those in it, then it's wrong now, otherwise, G*d has to make an apology to a bunch of people. Ummm, I never heard G*d saying, "Opps, hey guys, I'm sorry. I made a mistake." Yes, I too, feel very bad for the young ones that were killed. I pray for those in their family. I also pray for those injured for a quick recovery and for their families in this time of great stress.
18. More Sinat Hinam! My condolences to berieved families
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (08.02.09)
And please..... to all religious haters, don't put all of us in the same package, in case the murderer was religious...

I stopped commenting to Brauner a long time ago. The grey matter between his ears is very badly infected.
20. To "No Name" # 11
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron-Israel   (08.02.09)
I really don't understand how you can ask about contemplating the rights of your community and raising the flags of mutual love, and, on the other hand, attack people who think different from you! Something is definitively wrong with your way of thinking!
21. #5 #2 #10...
zoe ,   jerusalem   (08.02.09)
When a schul is burnt abroad, say in Paris for exemple. Do we think it might be the jews. I don't think so. And it shouldn't be! And wouldn't we accuse the arab and neonazi parties for inciting? We would. Rightly so! So now that the gay center is attacked, why not recognised the obvious: that someone who hated gays killed and hurt them? Whoever he was, religious, haredi, arab, secular - it's for the police to decide. But to condemn the fact that Shas and other minister incited against gays for a long time now - the same ministers who are disgusted from soldiers praying in uniform at the kotel - well... it's normal. Why should we have double standards?
22. Likely an terror act by a islamist
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (08.02.09)
Muslims hate gays more than anything. Probability is high this is an act performed by an islamist terrorist.
23. #`13 JP twisted facts
avi ,   Israel   (08.02.09)
In fact the opposite, how many young people have committed suicide because they were afraid of being gay. Your ignorance and lack of intelligence is frightening. Being gay is not a life style, you are either born gay or straight , we have no intrest what so ever in "persuading and influencing" as you seem to imply. The center helps young people come to terms with their sexuality. It trully saddens me to know there is such ignorance and lack of intelligence in the world as your posting so clearly demonstrates. Two young people were murdered in cold blood because of hatred . You should take time to get to know gay people to talk to them and not judge and slander others who are different than yourself.
24. don't you find it odd that the persone who did it new
ghostq   (08.02.09)
exactly where to look, knew exactly where the gay club is, something smell funny and it's not my feet. more of self hate, probably I will tell you I told you so.
25. Browner than Brauner
German ,   Germany   (08.02.09)
Is "nature" and "being natural" just about procreation ? Is having sex with a wigged woman through a hole in a sheet "natural" ? If homosexuals were really "unnatural", would they have always composed 8% of all human and animal life? Would homosexuals really need gay pride and flaunting their lifestyle if it weren't for people like you, browner than Braun persecuting them? Do you realize how you come across now?
26. What's up in Israel?
Andy ,   Dortmund/Germany   (08.02.09)
Israel seems to be no longer the country of human rights and tolerance in the Middle East. I supported Israel in January in its fight against hamas, we organized pro Israel manifestations in many big citys of germanys and some of us had to endure violence. But we would never support religious fanatics. Hamas or jewish fundamentalists, where is the different? I think about canceling my holidays in Israel this year and I would advise to every gay to do likewise.
27. No. 13 JP
(08.02.09)
Was there anything to indicate that the place where this bloodbath occurred was a sex den? According to what's been written, it appeared to be the meeting place for a support group for gay teens who, by the way, have the highest rate of suicide of any adolescents...due, in large part, to the hatred and rejection they often have to endure...sometimes even from the people closest to them. In fact, perhaps that explains the reason why beds might have been provided for those who needed a place to stay due to conflicts with their parents. And while I agree with you that teens, either gay or straight, should certainly not be pressured into having sex, in NYC, for example, the frighteningly high suicide rate became the impetus for the creation of a special school for gay and lesbian teens to enable them to get an education in a safe environment without becoming the victims of harassment and physical assaults.
28. @ Andy
Mona ,   Berlin, Germany   (08.02.09)
How dare you writing such a narrow-minded and simplified thing? Don't you see how people in Israel and elsewhere are shocked and devastated by this killing? Go have your vacation where ever you want. But try use your brains at some point.
29. attack in tel aviv...shame
fiona ,   jerusalem   (08.02.09)
This secular Jerusalem mother, teacher and citizen of Israel feels ashamed. I apologise to the gay community for the failure of my generation to fight intolerance, ignorance and the distortion of Jewish values in this country. I apologise because my generation were too busy making money to evin begin the necessary dialogue and action. I apologise to our children that the army still comes before all. We no longer take care of our children as they should be taken care of. I apologise to the parents whos lives have been shattered in this murderous hateful attack. I am ashamed by the tolerated incitement in our society.
30. why a lover???
nuri ,   tlv   (08.02.09)
why a lover would open fire at random ? if it would have been directed to specific ppl, ok! but there are injured ones who also paid the price of madness.. i don't say the criminal is an Orthodox, hope not, I simply say that If you have read the news consciously, it's clear an act of irrational, prejudiced madness
