4. No proof yet that it was a hate crime...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (08.03.09)
What if this mysterious "person in black" turned out to be a spurned or jealous lover? What if the murders had nothing to do with the sexual orientation of the deceased? There are too many what-if's needing to be answered before jumping to the conclusions the Israeli Media and Tzipi Livni have. Most murders are perpetrated by those with a personal connection to the victim. Should the murderer be found to be a spurned lover, who will condemn the storm of hate directed at the religious community in Israel? This country makes me sick sometimes...
5. Greatest HATE crime? Try Gush Katif... Or Altalena...
Ellen D ,   Ashkelon   (08.03.09)
Or do Holocaust survivors swimming to Israel's shores not count?

No one knows who the killer is or why he or she did what they did. Be careful what you say, because you may end up having to eat your words. Wouldn't it be ironic if the murderer ended up being a psychologically disturbed homosexual member of society? I'm not suggesting it is, I'm suggesting that one should wait & let the Police do their work. Homosexuality has always been a controversial matter. It will likely always be. Last I checked, there is no religious party that has ever called for the murder of a homosexual, perhaps with the exception of certain forms of Islam.
7. #4 Joe let me ask you
Avi ,   Israel   (08.03.09)
Lets say that in the US a member of the US congress, called jews: mentaly sick, perverted, the cause of swine flu, the reason we have earthquakes , the jailing of a corrupt politician (benizri) a gay plot, filth, Garbage etc.. then jews are murdered. i am sure you would be screaming anti semitism from the rooftops. These very same words came from MK Nissim of Shas who incited hatred towards the gay community over the years, Yet here in Israel it is acceptable to incite hatred and slander part of the population who also happen to be jewish. 6000,000 jews along with my relatives, gays , gypsies and politiacal prisoners were murderd in the hollocaust because they were different, yet we have learnt nothing from this. My family died in vein because my friend the hatred still exists. Words can kill , they attacked us with words they attacked us with bullets.
8. Freedom to march, freedom to speak
Ilan ,   Ariel   (08.03.09)
It was a hateful crime, but no one in the LGBT community should think that they have a right to stop people from expressing themselves. They use the right to free speech to march where they please, so don't get righteous and prevent others from speaking having their rights of free speech too.

Here in Israel it is acceptable to incite hatred and slander part of the population who are Haredi or Mitnahalim. Remember, a judge called haredi cockroaches and did not lose his job. At least once a week you can read a fabricated article how primitive/stupid/evil/lazy haredim are. Professors and politicians call for murder of Mitnahalim. They are the only members of the population who are consistently abused by the police, whose freedom of expression is denied and politicians call for stealing their property. You should have defended the Haredim and Mitnahalim when you had the chance.
10. inside job
informant   (08.03.09)
this killing was done by liberals so they can accuse everyone about being persecuted.
11. #7 - Avi, Are people guilty in Israel until proven innocent?
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (08.03.09)
I don't think so. You make an impassioned defense of your demonizing the religious community here the way in a similar way to the way the religious demonize the LGTB community here. When will both sides learn that the incitement and hatred coming from both sides needs to stop? Words can kill, but you have no proof "they" attacked you with bullets. The real question is who will stop YOU from putting bullets into THEM?
