If this venture is economically sound for Ashdod, and sounds like it will generate a lot money for local people, then asking secular bathers to move 100yds further down the coast does not sound like headline-making news.

They did this in California for many years. Finally, the courts ruled that the California coast belongs to every citizen. There had to be access to the beach and the beach open to everyone. Once you start restricting beaches, it doesn't stop.

In Yud Aleph, is this an ADDITIONAL beach or are they thinking of screening off more of our beach? They have already improved the parking for the dozens of coaches and the access to the beach, so I guess we are to lose more of the secular beach

What is the big deal? It's a relatively small section of beach, and the mens section will be open to ALL men, and the womens section will be open to ALL women! I know a lot of secular women who will LOVE the opportunity to relax in their bathing suits un-harrassed by the googly eyes of men. This country was founded as a respite for jews, not an amorphous secular mass, mostly indistinguishable for the other countries. Seperate beaches is a Jewish value for the Jewish state, and it is very important that we have more of these values or we'll lose what identity we have left!
