1. There is a defacto peace with Syria, why spoil it?
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (08.12.09)
Israel is in a position of strength visavis Syria. It owns the Golan Heights , there has been quiet there for the last 36 years and Israel has the advantage of overlooking Damascus from there. To be realistic this is the best Israel can hope for peace in the Middle East Why change a working peace for a formal worthless paper "peace?"
2. lets hope Bibi keeps his promise not to give away the Golan
zionist forever   (08.12.09)
I still don't trust him especially on the issue of the Golan, if Bibi thinks he can gain points on the palestinian front through giving up the Golan I wouldn't put it past him I just hope he will keep his promises. Turkey though wasn't acting as an honest broker they were acting more like the Syrian negotiating team and so should not be trusted as a middle man. If Assad is serious about peace he will sit down face - face without pre conditions.
3. Don't you know that obaama really wanted to work with Olmert
instead of Bibi??? ,   Go Bibi!!!!   (08.12.09)
4. obama's negotiations
marcel   (08.12.09)
Roadmap, wye, annapolis, erdogan and syria, all these formulations and obama's yes we can and moslem emancipation. A new way mist be found out. There is evidence that most of the palestinians actually are converted jews from roman times. This needs to be discerned so that the jewish commonwealth can be united.

THERE IS EVIDENCE THAT MOST OF THE PALESTINIANS ACTUALLY ARE CONVERTED JEWS FROM ROMAN TIMES. THIS NEEDS TO BE DISCERNED SO THAT THE JEWISH COMMONWEALTH CAN BE UNITED. What evidence ? The romans didn't force the jews to convert to any other religion they either executed them, sold them into slavery or let them live in their homes in what was Juda now being called Philistina as jews. The palestinians are ARABS and the arabs come from ARABIA. Most their ancestors havn't been in this part of the Middle East since the early 20th century. Many followed the zionists from as far away as Iraq. The idea of a palestinian people has only existed since 1964 with the creation of the PLO which had extra credibility if they were leaders of an actual group of people with a long hisory. The only jewish commonwealth that needs uniting is to get diaspora jews to come and make alliyah.
6. …and to starth with, the Golan Highs should remain Israeli!
Ron B. ,   Lod   (08.13.09)
The chances of peace with Syria never existed. At the most Israel could hope for a “Hudna”.The maximum that Israel can aim for is a limited ceasefire or an armistice, taking into consideration that the Arab side will violate it at any time, as the Palestinians have been proving on a daily basis since the signing of the Oslo Accords in September 1993. That is in the spirit of a “Hudna” as explained at : http://xrl.us/bjcsd
