There are indeed good things in Mr. Huckabee's statements and his actions. On the other hand, Huckabee said: "The Obama administration's emphasis on the settlement issue sets a condition that unnecessarily impedes peace talks." Huckabee is an ordained Baptist minister who is well-grounded in word of God; in the Hebrew Bible. Does Mr. Huckabee actually believe there will be peace in the region between Israel and her declared enemies this side of God's kingdom, or the world to come? I am an almost forty year registered (conservative) Republican. To my knowledge, self-professed Christian President George W. Bush NEVER visited one Jewish settlement in our land. This is to Huckabee's credit that he has and does. He enunciated his "vision" only days after the 9/11 Muslim-terror atrocities in New York and Washington in order to appease America's jihadist enemies. Bush codified his (terror-state) abomination in our 2004 national Republican party platform, in addition to commending Israel for her willingness to forcibly uproot thousands of law-abiding Jews from Biblical Israel, in the midst of daily terrorism and violence. Bush supported America's ally Israel's retreat in the face of the Jihad, and Republicans, conservatives, conservative activists and Republican party leaders supported Bush's immoral policies. I have no reason to believe Mr. Huckabee did not likewise support Bush's immoral policies. Did he speak out against Bush's anti-Israel policies? Will Huckabee, if he is the Republican nominee, work to remove this immoral language from our national party platform which presently calls for a Muslim-enemy state in the land that God promised to the descendants of Abraham and Jacob? Mike Huckabee is pro-Israel, one of her best friends. He has visited many times at the behest of Israeli leaders and is here by invitation. This is, I think, his 12th visit over about 20 years. He is not currently running for political office but broadcasts an interesting and entertaining TV show and a radio spot. His humor and kindness are very evident to all people. Mr. Huckabee has a right to an opinion - so do I. The energy of the debate around Israel is inversely proportional to its strategic value to the USA. American posters should reexamine their loyalties and put US interests first. No need to defend Israelis - that's their job.
