11. “Possession of nuclear weapons to be one of Iran’s top goals
Ron B. ,   Lod   (08.30.09)
On February 14, 2005, Ayatollah Mohammad Baqer Kharrazi, secretary general of the Iranian Hezbollah, declared, “We are able to produce atomic bombs and we will do that. We shouldn’t be afraid of anyone. The United States is not more than a barking dog.” And, on May 29, 2005, Hojjat al-Eslam Gholam Reza Hasani, the supreme leader’s personal representative to the province of West Azerbaijan, declared possession of nuclear weapons to be one of Iran’s top goals. “An atom bomb . . . must be produced,” he said. “That is because the Quran has told Muslims to ‘get strong and amass all the forces at your disposal.’” More at (3 parts): http://xrl.us/owrbs

13. Rubbish
White Russian ,   Princeton   (08.31.09)
Let me get this straight - Iran has to prove that they're not making nukes, and the IAEA says as much, yet Israel doesn't have to prove that they're not harvesting Palestinians organs? Too bad Iran can't just call Israel anti-semitic (which they are, ironically) and have the whole issue abandoned.
14. UN atomic watchdog??
El Tonno ,   Luxembourg   (08.31.09)
HEY JOURNOS! The IAEA is NOT an "atomic watchdog". It's primary responsibility is to enable the peaceful use of nuclear technology. It may also verify that nuclear material is not being diverted in countries that signed the NPT agreement (like Iran, unlike Israel, amirite). In the current case, Iran is not exactly being a problem child and has the right to use IAEA controlled tech as it sees fit. This includes U enrichment to non-bomb-grade levels. Political shenanigans from the US, Europe and Israel notwithstanding.
