1. Madonna
Pnina C. ,   Petach Tikva   (08.30.09)
She respects the Jewish Sabbath more than most Jews do.
2. #1 that may be but she's a "bird flipper" from way back!
(08.30.09)
and on top of that she dresses in a non-modest way! additionally she's not Jewish so why does she bother?
3. #1 doesn't matter we r God's chosen she's just a pop star!
(08.30.09)
4. to #2 and 3, consider this
truthteller   (08.30.09)
The suggestion that the sabbath is only for Jews (or even observant Jews) is nonsense. G-d's word is for every person to be enlightened by and to suggest "it doesn't matter" because she isn't a Jew is arrogant and inaccurate. As a convert I can assure you I am more observant than 99% of the Jews I meet. Yet, of those 99% very few really consider me a fellow Jew and that is just wrong--as well as hurtful. Madonna has become interested in conversion and she is someone who is helping Israel become more understood by outsiders. In spite of the fact she is a pop star, Israel's image abroad is a disaster because Israelis have attitudes like yours. The idea of not caring or rejecting outsiders help in hasbara is dangerous. This is especially so with Obama, sorry to say.
5. if i were a pop star
david ,   naharia   (08.30.09)
i was thinking it would be much easier, much safer, and much much calmer (assuming that's what you're looking for), if all this celebrities at arrival stood for two minutes, allow some pics to be taken and you are on your. Ultimately your chosen profession involves cameras and flashes. I think they enjoy the adrenalin that comes with all this running away from photographers. Off topic: that thing of the 'chosen people' cracks me up every time i hear it. Sooo funny. it's like, first there's any natural disaster, but then you pray to your god.
6. to #2
edi ,   tlv   (08.30.09)
GET A LIFE.! TYPICAL PERSON WHO JUDGES THE OTHERS AS IF YOU WERE G-D! SHHHHHH
7. #5 you don't get it
jason ,   israel   (08.30.09)
madonna is the penultimate pop star: that means knowing how to attract attention, wow the crowd, make them chase after you. standing in front of the camera for pictures is boring, expected, practically out of fashion. holding off activity on shabbat can also be considered a ploy, but i believe she is sincere in her interest and respect for judaism. she's entitled to it.
8. #4 - EXCELLENT POINTS !!!
Rich ,   Raanana   (08.30.09)
9. SHE IS GOOD P.R. FOR ISRAEL & THAT, FRIENDS,IS THE PRIORITY
Norma Zimmer ,   Rio de Janeiro   (08.31.09)
WE SHOULD BE THANKING MADONNA FOR ALL THE GOOD SHE DOES FOR ERETZ ISRAEL, PROMOTING THE GOODNESS OF ISRAEL, THE FREEDOM, THE LOVE AND THE TRUTH. THE WORLD IS FULL OF EVIL, FULL OF EMPTY, BLIND HATRED OF ISRAEL, ALL DUE TO THE NAZISTIC LIES OF THE ARABS & MUSLIM NATIONS; AN UNRELENTING, NEVER ENDING LIE. MADONNA'S P.R. FOR ISRAEL CANNOT BE BOUGHT WITH MONEY, LIKE ARAB PROPAGANDA AGAINST ISRAEL IS BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY PETRODOLLARS FOR 90 YEARS NOW. LET US THANK MADONNA NOT CRITICIZE HER. SHALOM!
10. amused by TBers who r so right on Madonna!
(08.31.09)
what's that about? Really...are you just like her that when a bit of criticism comes ur way you automatically get personal and go with the rude personalized gestures?
11. If this Lady is so spot on...
(08.31.09)
then why is it that not one of her love interests has been Jewish? remind me how many times has she been married? how many of her children have the same father? why is it that she's so desperate to get attention that she's always half naked?
12. Israel got a visit from grandma, big deal
ghostq   (08.31.09)
over the hill and not inovative.
13. No. 11
NYC Girl   (08.31.09)
Considering how active Madonna's love life has been, I don't know how you're so certain that none of her lovers has been Jewish. Not only that, but Sean Penn was half-Jewish, but that's totally beside the point. As far as Israel is concerned, Madonna is providing some very valuable publicity, and that's why a lot of us are appreciative of her efforts.
14. What's Everyone's Problem?
Bridgitte ,   Jerusalem   (08.31.09)
Why go out of your way to read and then comment negatively on this article? Madonna is a serious talent and goes out of her way to pump out positive vibes on behalf of the Jewish people - who by the way could really use the help. What about the values of not slandering and being outright obnoxious?
