If the IDF would be sent for the purpuse of making sure not a single missile or mortar would ever be fired at Israel, there would still be ground forces in Gaza, demolishing tunnels along the Egypt border and eliminating Hamas terrorists. Overall, it looks like the Gaza disengagement plan (2005) was a a strategic mistake. A mistake that should not be repeated in the west bank.
