treated as second class citizens, is one I would spit upon. Jewsih, or whatever. To treat women like that is to devalue Hashems creation of what a woman was meant to be.
4. No Face Cover Required

Too bad they passed laws that limit personal freedom, Palestine is not Afghanistan or Saudi. In the 80s Palestinian headscarf wear rate was 10%, most women did not wear it but society was transformed by the occupation and resistance movements. When there is no one to turn to, peolpe tend to find refuge in a God. It may similarly take 20 years past liberation to re-transform society back to what it was. On a positive note however, the ruling is for the sharia requirement only which means the face cover remains optional. Contrary to what the pictures posted with this article imply.

.....just wait what will happen to women in Gaza in a few months. They will suffer even more. Even if only a a few women appear unveiled in courts, the corrupt moral of the Gazans, which considers unveiled women as whores, will lead to more cuts of democratic rights and lead to more unequality of women. This is how sharia works. Women are second class citizens.

Israeli 2   (09.07.09)
Women should not be forced to do anything but they should want to do it themselves. There are Good women and then there are Vashtiites meaning evil and foolish.

10. #4, it may be optional

But I cannot imagine the religious police standing by and allowing a mere woman to use her option to not do what they demand of her...
