1. Chutzpah!
Laurence ,   Tustin, CA USA   (09.09.09)
Israelis have a lot of nerve building in their own country. Seriously though, the UN is a hypocritical gang intent on destroying Western values and our Judeo-Christian heritage.
2. But Not Copncerned Over Iranian Nukes

4. All the problems in the world and this
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.09.09)
is number one? The u.n. is just a child of the national socialist party. Same hate for Jews and a final solution in mind.
5. example
ben Ish   (09.09.09)
This is how badly the propaganda war has been lost. I'm sure Ban Ki-Moon is reasonably well educated, and means well. But look at his level of understanding of the details here. Every day the world is inundated with the injustices done to the Palestinian people, and how the evil Israel is responsible for all violence. MOST people have no idea that "Palestinian" is entirely made up, and do not realize the corrosive effect of simply perpetuating the term.
6. Don't Moon us
David ,   New England   (09.09.09)
The South Koreans should stop all construction activity in the disputed territory of South Korea until a viable peace agreement is negotiated with the North Koreans.
7. Is the "road map" international law?
Steve Klein   (09.09.09)
Ban made the allegation. Why doesn't he define what constitutes "international law?" The Bush road map? The Oslo accords? What constitutes the force of international law? The League of Nations' Mandate? Ban says settlements or building in settlements is contrary to international law. How so?
8. I appreciate your concern,
Sarah B ,   New York City, USA   (09.09.09)
Mr. Secretary General but, frankly, you have expressed similar concern on any number of occasions. However, I am very interested to hear your opinion on the following desperate situations which you, alas, have yet to address: - The Congo - Ivory Coast - Sudan - Somalia - Pakistan and the Hindu Kush - Afghanistan - Chechnya - Iran - Iraq - Indonesia - The Philippines You see, Mr. Secretary General, something on order of 7.5 million people have perished in the foregoing matters in toto. Why are you devoting your time to fully legal settlement building in Judea and Samaria when there are such grievous situations in so many other parts of the world? If you cannot do any better than you are doing, you owe it to the world to step down from your post, because you are not performing effectively and, quite frankly, your bias is showing.

11. Is the "road map" international law?
tulag ,   Hales   (09.09.09)
no - it is a map no other nation would subject thier nation to.... but its ok to subject the jews in israel to it !?!
12. Nonsense
Paul ,   jerusalem, Israel   (09.09.09)
You can take your politically convenient International Law and shove it. When is Israel going to declare publicly that the peace process is just a show to keep the beasts at bay, and that Palestinians deserve absolutely nothing.
13. Excuse me??? Jews can't build in Palestine?
Nour ,   Palestine   (09.09.09)
Seams ludicrous to me. It's like saying Palestinian Arabs can't build in the Galilee. If these people want to live in Palestine on ideological reasons and are 2nd and 3rd generation Jews in Palestine, why should they be denied the right to build? They provide employment for Palestinian youth and bolster Palestinian contractors. Let them live here, live and let live, AS EQUALS, in the land of Jerusalem.
14. UN in a bad place when Moon doesn't know international law..
Rebecca ,   Modiin   (09.09.09)
Does Mr Moon think his organization sets international law? Wrong. There is NO law to stop building in captured areas. Israel has every right to build all over the west bank. And The "road map" is not a law. It was a suggested agreement between two parties, one of which never accepted it.
15. Israel knows International law
International   (09.10.09)
For some reason it's always the opposite of what the International community understands. Perhaps it's just Isranational law?!

It's not a bomb they're building. Where's the Sec's head on Iran and what they're building? Denial rules the UN......
20. Mr. Moony, International law my DERRIERE!!!
Maxwell Smart ,   Portland,USA   (09.10.09)
You do not look trustworthy or credible. So, Mr. Moonlight, mind your own business, get off Israel's back, and get lost for good... My advise to my beautiful Israel is to built and keep on building nonstop!!...

25. To: No. 13
Sarah B ,   New York City, USA   (09.10.09)
You write and imply that there is such a thing as a "Palestinian." There isn't. Palestine was a neglected, dismal, abandoned backwater of the Ottoman Empire. Palestine has never been, is not now, and never will be a country. On the other hand .... Israel has a nearly 6,000 year history. It is also the homeland of the Jewish people, with Jerusalem as its eternal capital. It is not for sharing, Nour. You people have no business in the land of Israel and you CERTAINLY have no claim to Jerusalem as your "capital." Take the scales from your eyes, Nour. You are living in a dream world that you have managed to turn into a nightmare. War hasn't worked for you. Terror hasn't worked for you. We offered you a two-state solution; rejected no fewer than three occasions. We offered you a hand in friendship, and you repaid us with unrelenting terror. All bets are off. No more offers of anything. You will have to leave. Voluntarily or otherwise. There is no "Palestine," Nour. Get out of your fictionalized history and your fictionalized existence and see the truth for what it is. Otherwise, you people are destined for the trash heap of history. Hey, maybe that's not such a bad thing.
26. To: No. 15
Sarah B ,   New York City, USA   (09.10.09)
No. Israel's policies are based firmly in the Hague Second and Third Conventions, which state unequivocally that a country that acquires territory while fighting a defensive war (as Israel did against Jordan in 1967) has the right to retain the territory and to settle it. The Third Hague Convention actually goes so far as to imply that should Israel so desire, it may expel the Arabs living in Judea and Sumeria. You may not like it, but there you have it. Perhaps the international community is an ass. Although many have retained territory in dispute in reliance on both Conventions. Chalk it up to good old-fashioned Jew hatred. That's okay. We're used to it and it does not faze us in the least.
27. ME battleground between US and China with Russia a wildcard
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, USA   (09.10.09)
Israel and the ME is quickly becoming a battleground between East and West. China and US both need the resources that the 56 Muslim countries have, Russia is abit of a wildcard since it need both the tech Israel has and the money the Muslims have. Right now Israel has the balance of power in it favor but Iran it trying to shift it but the military tech it need can only received from US or EU or Russia, in afew years China maybe able to supply it. Right now Israel has some but limited influence in Russia but that may last only afew more years. In many was Iraq is the key, Israel must keep Iraq from forming close ties with Iran or the balance of power may shift.
28. Cutzpah
Spencer ,   Israel   (09.10.09)
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon needs to learn what cosituted "International Law"! Building in one's own country is not a conravention of ANY law. The UN needs to sort out the real problems in the world and not continuousy level their blatantly anti Israel accusations at a Country that has done all in it's power to come to terms with a bunch of terrorists whose stated aim is to have their own country and to destroy Israel. Enough is enough. Perhaps countires like Sweden and England who are fast being taken over by the Muslims should stop attacking Israel for exercising her legitimate rights and strat cleaning up their own house before it's too late (If it isn't too late already!!!!)
29. let him condemn the million of chinese
